I just ordered the two drivers, a stubby 3/8” swivel head ratchet, and the 1/4” curved handle ratchet. For those who don’t know, Deen has their own website now and they ship to the US! Thanks for the review.
I like all my Deen stuff. I’ve just kept them in the home shop so they haven’t seen “industrial” use, but they’re great and it’s fun to have some Factor Gear goodies!
Very nice looking tools. They have done a very good job of imitating the old Snap-on ergo style screwdriver handle even down to the texture of the grip.
Snap-On is very expensive in Japan so Deen has been making tools similar to Snap-On for years at a fraction of the price. These are Taiwan-made afaik. I have a Deen torque wrench and what I like about it is that they combine parts from a ratchet specialist for the head of the torque wrench and a torque wrench specialist for the body of the wrench. You don't see that often.
That’s really cool, thanks for the info. They seem like they’re pretty passionate about tools. I wish they were easier to get where I live, because they have some really neat items.
Love that RATCHET!! I LOVE the black hard handle! its very similar to Snap Ons but I imagine it maybe more refined being Japanese I been see'ing these in pictures but nothing till now I just found your after paying for youtube premium.
Hello Brando Damo I just found your channel and subscribed. Thank you for introducing me to Deen Tools and Factory Gear (FG). I will be looking forward to researching FG on UA-cam. Again thank you
@@BrandoDamo Hello again Brando Damo After looking at their website, I see what you mean. How long did it take for you to get the tools? However, I have to admit they look a lot better. Than some of the other brand names out there. If you plan on doing a review of how well they are on the job. I would be very interested. Heres a question for you. If you should have an issue with an order, for any reason, How would you get it resolved? Thank you again for a Great Video.
@@georgeferlazzo7936 Factory hear has lots of cool stuff and you can tell they really care about tools. These took maybe 3 weeks ordering from a third party retailer. From what I understood they had to “collect” in one place from various warehouses before being shipped all together. I have tried many ways of getting tools from Japan to the US, just to see what works, what’s easy, what’s fast. But I’ve never had any issues with anything lost or damaged at all. To be honest I don’t know what I’d do except start sending some emails to some Japanese office workers. By far the fastest and easiest way to get Japanese products is Amazon Japan, but they just don’t have everything I want!
@@BrandoDamo Hello again, and thank you for getting back to me. You find currently researching for my next tool purchase. As what I, mostly have is old school Craftsman tools, SK, and even Walmart. So it's a mixture , as my needs change. As the tools gets older I am planning ahead. UA-cam has been instrumental in introducing me Tool Brands I've never heard of before. Like Tekton or Deen for instance, I 've heard nothing but Good about their Warranty handling. As I said earlier, it used to be, just go to Sears and get a replacement. It's too bad Sears treated everyone the way they did. Me included. The Best thing Sears ever did was to put a Tool situation in front of you. For instance the Double-x pliers from Crescent tools and a small plastic tube. And at bottom of the tube is a washer. Now get the washer out. That's just one of many tool purchases I made. Just by seeing a situation before me, Solved. Anyhow, I am sorry for the short novel here. Again thank you
Hey man, how did you get these Deen tools? I have been using Amazon Japan for a little bit, and I search it every time I order something for deen Tools but they never seem to exist. Great video! You’ve shown me even more things I didn’t know deen had that are so cool
I bought them from a Japanese website and paid quite a lot to get them shipped to me. It’s not “worth” it price wise, and it’s not a cost effective way to buy them. I just got them for fun. Better to buy them when visiting Japan!
@@BrandoDamo for some tools, the way they make life is so good that price doesn’t really matter you know? So I’d like to know the site you used please. People willingly pay hundreds for snapon tools even though sometimes Japanese is better for the price. Thanks for your time and reading this comment from your old video
I like the long spinner handle and the 3/8 spinner handle, you almost never see them in anything but a standard short 1/4. If you do see anything else it's usually just a driver handle and not a spinner handle with the female drive in the handle. Too bad these are probably Taiwanese, If theres no other good option and the price is right I'll buy a Taiwanese tool but it certainly wouldn't really be too worth ordering these from japan.
They’re definitely made in Taiwan for Factory Gear. The ratcheting action is definitely not the buttery smoothness of my Nepros, or the feather light back drag of my Koken, but they’re pretty neat and appear well made. Factory Gear is just a really cool company, plus I think it’s fun to see Japanese domestic market items.
Yes, there’s no (that I am aware of) convenient/affordable way to get these. I got them through a third party Japanese retailer, and the shipping costs were pretty extreme, and it’s a bit of a hassle too. It’s not cost effective at all. If they listed their items on Amazon Japan or something it would be easy and affordable. It’s a shame because they have a lot of neat things I wouldn’t mind trying.
You’d have to get them through a third party Japanese retailer. Like I said in the video the hassle and cost involved make it not really worth it at this time. Here’s the link though... ec.f-gear.co.jp/category/DEEN_RACHET/4562434454874.html

They don’t seem to have a real presence outside Japan except for a branch in Thailand... unfortunately.

Love that ratchet. Better than the similar snapon with that locking feature.
I’ve almost bought a snap-on one multiple times, and I still might get a one eventually, but I like locking ratchets!
It is a lovely tray
I’m a sucker for purdy things :)
I want one

Do those ratchets lock in any positions or is it just free?
Can you elaborate on why you think they're not practical to order outside of Japan? Is it the shipping cost?
