    I love the tube. Stainless steel is wonderfully chewy stuff.

    Really enjoying the daily mini episodes. Something to watch every day it’s nice to look forward to. I am just fascinated by what you’re doing and how you’re doing it. And I can’t wait for the day when you put her in the water.

    That's the great thing about building your own boat, not only do you know it inside out, but the knowledge of the tools and techniques are enchanted as well. Great work, I am still watching with great anticipation.

    Thank you so much for sharing the details of your technique for flaring the stainless tubing! Well done. Definitely something I'll use.

      Thanks, they make an automotive tool that does it, but as I only need to do this for 2 tubes, I opted out of buying it.

      @@ocean_capable_small_sailboat Please don't ever strike one hammer with another! The heads are hardened and can shatter. A good replacement would be an plastic rolling pin- those suckers are heavy, non-marring, and easy to find.

    I like these mini episodes ... we don't have to wait so long between episodes. I'd be curious to know how the inclusion of these affects the UA-cam algorithm. Keep them coming ... this is great!

      I wonder if it will help things, or if it will hurt due to less people watching each one. I suppose we'll see.

    It is a bit late for a suggestion but have you tried this technique in place of your Drill/Fill/Drill method? Drill the hole you want but only through the first layer. Use a nail with a 90 degree bend in it (like an allen wrench) with the long leg inserted in your drill driver - place the short leg of the nail into your hole and hog out the foam core - vacuum out the foam dust - fill with epoxy (use syringe for epoxy) - Then redrill the hole through both sides of the panel. The advantage is that you don't need to tape the backside of the hole to fill and you don't need much access to the back side at all. Also the fiberglass layers are preserved lending some strength to the new plug of epoxy and tying it into the skin of the structure. This is a technique we used in constructing Aircraft. I have easy access to used but clean syringes but an alternative would be to oversize the first hole - you still avoid taping etc. Edit: Ok I see your other videos show you know this technique already. I just noted you used a different way in this one. Nice work.

    It's looking good, you are making good progress. When you put epoxy into the holes for the mounting bolts try poking a tiny hole in the tape. I use a sewing pin. It gives the air a way to escape but is too small for the thickened epoxy to go through.

    I wonder if there is an untapped UA-cam market for peel ply ASMR?

    • @ocean_capable_small_sailboat
      @ocean_capable_small_sailboat  Рік тому

      Sometimes I think of putting together a 5 minute video of just peel-ply removal from all the times I've done it, haha. That would take some work though.

    Aren't you supposed to wear a face mask when you pull off the peel ply, shouldn't it throw epoxy dust around the whole room?
