Paddington is like peak childhood entertainment, and I love that they didn’t make Mr. Brown a complete a hole when other kids movies would, he’s just the guy that wants to think it through first but gets frustrated by understandably, frustrating things. And it really surprised me that paddington 2 is one of those rare kids movies where the sequel is better than the first
Paddington is just quintessentially British, he's been around for a long time, and many people probably had him in their childhoods growing up. I can't think of a more perfect mascot for us, and him being with her majesty before her passing, just adds to the love we all have for him.
Im an American. Had no experience with the books as a kid. I worked at a theater when paddington 2 came out. I made jokes to all my coworkers that we should all go see it as a group (thinking it was a bad kid movie). Nobody went with me but i was committed to the joke and saw it alone. I was genuinely blown away. Full of surprises and was really enjoyable. I tried telling my coworkers that it was good, but they all thought i was crying wolf.
Paddington doesn't have both parents, had a near death experience as a child, and goes to jail at some point. This is my kind of protagonist! I have a lot of protagonists who have at least one of those things happen to them.
I really love the movies there like the despicable me movies there not to be taken too seriously but they do alot more right i hope Paddington 3 is good Paddington 2 is one of my all time favourite movies
I love both movies. It's a movie I can put on to watch and everyone loves it. Usually, the sequels of movies are horrible but Paddington 2 was amazing. They had charm, fun, and adventure. It was just, amazing.
What sets Paddinton appart from most other movies is a deep earnestness completely devoid of the irony and/or sarcasm that is so deeply engrained in our current postmodern entertainment. It knows that it's a childrens movie, but doesn't treat children as lesser people. Instead it opts to tell a child friendly story with good morals and a protagonist who really is a sweetheart. And by being just so gosh darned good Paddington actually brings out the best in his surroundings. It's a deeply humanist and friendly message. And the movie sticks to its guns in not treating it as something you can take 100% seriously. Good examples for something like that also happening in other movies would be found in early Pixar movies, or Puss in Boots: The last Wish (of all places, the sequel to a spinoff of Shrek turned out to be gold). Those movies also are made for kids, but they also take themselves and their characters seriously and don't cheapen themselves or their problems. And the antagonists also are not really pulling their punches. Everyone involved in those movies knew, that they are in a childrens movie; but that didn't stop them from bringing their collective A-game (instead of phoning it in, because "it's just a childrens movie"). Be it the art-department, the actors or the director. And you can feel that earnestness radiate from the screen constantly. And it makes the movies so much better and immersive, though taking these small moments seriosuly and giving them the space they need. Be it when Paddington reassures Knuckles, who lashes out, because he fears that nobody will like the marmelade sandwiches. Or when Puss suffers a panic attack and is helped out of it by Perrito. Or when Carl abandons his house (and therefore the last thing that still connected him with his late wife Ellie) to save Russell and Doug.
They're just fun family movies. Safe and clean for the younger audience, but still charming and beautiful. It isn't a perfect franchise but better than Alvin and the Chipmunks or the ..... Smurfs movie
I think this film was awesome too. But I am actually sick of it now because of my brothers. They watched both the films everyday during the lockdown so when we recently watched it again with our cousins I already knew what the characters were going to do and say. But regardless, I still think they were both good films!
if you're serious about that one a-hole who made it 99% then i'm pissed. amazing video as always though, Paddington is one of my favorite duoligy's of film.
For me Paddington was a very charming, fun filled adventure. Both films did an amazing job to create something great by true to the source material. Both the films and the animated tv show are on ABC Iview and I some time tune in. Also yeah the Peter Rabbit movies were awful. They took some very beloved and beautiful and messed everything up. Well. It was made by Sony Animation. And they have a bad reputation for bad movie after bad movie.

Paddington is a beautifully innocent and gentle character. No smutty jokes are needed.
Except for the one implying prison grape
paddington 2 made me cry. how could anyone arrest such a beacon of goodness and light in this world?

Paddington was the first movie I saw in theaters so it holds great value in my heart.

I’ve watched both films multiple times. And I love it and laugh every single time.
Agree with everything you said about these two movies. Just wonderful and Paddington is so damn cute! I want one.

Love them! I think I'm in the minority but personally, the first Paddington film is my favourite, but I adore them both.❤

Paddington was a delightful surprise, and a wonderful family film. Paddington 2, however, is just simply one of the greatest movies ever made.

Huh, how very interesting.
I didn't even know who Paddington was before watching the movie and I loved the films.

I immediately purchased paddington 2 since you can’t currently stream it like the first paddington film.
They’re perfection 🥹.
