Although I love the industry reviews, this review and your honest impressions helped me make the call and decide on the AVM90. It will be my next processor. It's nice hearing a more casual opinion and simply seeing someone s reaction.
Cheers Chris! Cool to see companies sending you gear. There are other channels with good people. But i was raised in part by a southern gentleman, and its cool to hear a voice with some southern twang in it, reviewing audio gear.
Kudos, welcome to the Anthem experience. I have an Anthem MRX 1140, because I never planned to add external amps beyond my Outlaw 5000X, which was eventually used to power the height speakers, ATI 523, ATI 524 M, Crown XLi 2500, Crown XLi 1500 later, resulting in a 7.4.4 system, which is still uncalibrated, but sounds awesome. Would have bought the 70, or 90 if I had known then, what I know now. That being said m, reality is my system is quite enjoyble.
Thanks Chris for the average Joe review. I would think alot of that watch your channel have an average to slightly above average system in a multi purpose room, and there's nothing wrong with that. I can relate to your reviews much more than the guy with the $100000 system in a dedicated room with things i can only dream of. Keep doing you brother. You got a subscriber in me.
Been sold on Anthem since buying the MRX 720 I can only imagine how far they’ve come since then. Play the DVD version of Master and Commander I’m about to now😁
Thank you very much for your comments and considerations about the processor. I do hope you get a way to keep it! One question: I could not figure out which are your power amps. Could you please inform? Once again, thanks a lot!
Be nice if u could get your hands on a jbl 58 and marantz new prepro to do comparison back to back. I know they did room correction blind testing at mwave and Dirac scored higher than arc. I haven’t decided on which one I want to go with next.
That looks so good in your rack. It would be nice if Anthem would let you keep that one. For doing such a great review on it. Come on Anthem give Chris a break let him keep this one 😂. Trying to help you out brother. Great video 👍🎬🍿🎥
I just saw this brother. Honestly I did spend a lot of money on cables. 12/2 speaker wires through out, bought off Amazon and eBay, monster HDMI cables, just picked up some mic xlr cables off Amazon. Nothing special and they work perfectly.
Hey Chris, awesome watching your review. Loved it. I have an AVM 70 myself and it’s phenomenal. If you want to control your anthem, you don’t need the remote, since you have it connected to your network, you can pretty much do it on your phone or iPad. Just have to go to the IP it’s set up at and the entire controller is there. The input switching is a lot easier on that too. Also quick question, how did you stick your diffuser panels above your screen? I bought the same ones from Amazon and trying to figure out if I glue them in or use a strong double tape
Hey, Just wanted to ask ( currently have the Arcam AV21 + power amps ) running 9.4.6. Only for movies. Would you go with the Arcam AV41 or Anthem AVM70 or AVM90 ? Keep up the great work and video ( add chapters at the bottom if you could :)
How was usability? I love how reliable the Marantz products are. Especially with their phone app. Any complexities with the Anthem using the app or web UI?
Chris, I’m so happy companies are sending you products. Your opinion matters to me. Quick question? Have you run Dirac on your Emotiva yet? I’m just curious to know as it changed the game for my Emotiva. I want to know if the sound is that much better than a calibrated Emotiva?
@@myhometheater7029 thank you for your reply. Please let me know what you think when you do. I’ve always wanted an anthem but it was really out of my budget as I built a theater from scratch with a new home build. I was a little stretched at the time so I went with the Emotiva. I’m putting away money for either a new projector or upgrading the processor. After running Dirac I was pretty astonished with how good the Emotiva sounded. It sounded great without calibration but it literally puts objects in the room after calibration. However if that anthem is better than that then there will be nothing stopping me from pulling the trigger. I have patients so I will await your word. Do you have patreon? I would love to support your future journey. To me you are the most sincere and honest home theater channel and I’d love to help you grow.
@@JavonDGreen thank you thank you for your kind words. I’ve an issue with trying to run Dirac on the xmc-2. There’s no way to turn down the test tones!!! It literally about blows the speakers. I’ve tried everything. So when audio advice lets me know when they want the anthem back I’m gonna contact emotiva to get them to help. I wish I could keep the anthem but I don’t have the funds but I’ll save up and buy it. It’s a fantastic processor. The xmc-2 is the best bang for the buck though!!!
@@myhometheater7029 that’s a bug that I get every now and again when running it as well. That shouldn’t happen. I have to literally unplug the unit for about 4-5 mins to get it to stop doing that.
Thank you for the video and impression with this Anthem processor. How do you compare it with Arcam products that you have reviewed in terms of sound dynamics, imaging, etc.?
I had Brandon calibrate my system twice. No regrets and would recommend him to anyone.Difference is outstanding.

That tall rack with all of the components is like Heaven!! Good job Sir. I've gotten some great ideas from your setup.
Thank you
Fun review. I have to agree with everything you said, based off my experience with the AVM 90 for the past 8 months. Just incredible!!

Monolith 7x amp for ground speakers
Outlaw 7000x amp for atmos speakers
CHRIS , you need to watch THE HURRICANE HEIST .the atmos in this movie is Amazing!!!!!!!
I’ll check it out
Agreed. The movie isn’t great by no means but it has incredible audio.

Thanks buddy. I used double sided tape and one small nail in each.

You need to show your arc results did arc say to lower subs to continue when you ran arc ?
Everybody say it a bad boy I want one too
I absolutely love this processor!!! It has no rival unless you move Trinnov! That’s my assessment.
No Auro3D support or upmixing,no deal. Auro3D is the most beautiful sounding codec there is.
Yes I do like auro 3D but this is an amazing processor!
How much better is the sound than your rmc?
I have the xmc-2. Its way better.
What things did you need to download on your laptop for him to do his thing?
Brandon will let you know what to do. Just email him!!!
Do you have contact info for Brandon? Possibly Interested in having him calibrate mine. THANKS @myhometheater7029
