    *Works great **MyBest.Tools** . Little lacking in power. You just have to cut a little slower. Compare to Rockwell pretty similar experience but cheaper price tag for this one. Love the lightest. Cuts accurately too.*

    I stumbled in here because I just ordered a Makita circ saw. I am invested in the Milwaukee battery system, but the reason I went corded was the opposite of your reasoning; I use circular saws so rarely that I just do not trust I'll get the value out of a saw before a producer decide to change their battery system. A corded one with my occasional usage will probably last me decades. That it was reasonably similar specs at half the price as the M18 Fuel didn't hurt either...

      @BorsellinoHomeServices  4 роки тому +4

      Right on! A corded saw is definitely cheaper and has more power. I would agree they should last longer too and won't become obsolete. My corded saw has been my go to for years. The battery one is solely for convenience. They each have their place in my heart and toolbox lol .Thanks for the comment! I hope you like your new saw!!!

      I thought exactly the same. I went corded for tools i rarely use and battery for more frequent usage and requires cord free movement for safety reason

      @@jiminy2731 Not to mention when you are in the middle of nowhere with nearest power outlet miles away. I'll admit most of my tools are cordless for that very reason, but some tools I can only imagine myself using at home or somewhere else where there is power available, the circ saw and the orbital sander were two examples for me at least. And it is fun not being tied down to a system you are already on as most of us are for battery tools which leaves room to shop around a little more. And though brushless motors and lithium batteries have revolutionized the use of battery tools, it is still hard to beat the possibilities that 220V with a 15A fuse can offer.
      And I must say that HS7101 I bought is a beast! I demolished some old railing at home with it, and I never felt any resistance, no matter how fast I pushed it! I can highly recommend it. And not made in China for that low price was icing on the cake.

      @@WeldingForJesus Of course, if you're working in the trade then cordless is probably the way to go because you can't assume on site has power or a power point nearby. having 10-20m+ cables running is a hazard as well!
      I mainly just do around the house and garage so corded is the way to go. But have gone cordless for some tools. I am definitely looking forward to buying the corded maktia circular though. I will be building myself proper workbench with storage underneath so I can't wait for new tools day!

      @@jiminy2731 My trade is trucking, and my rapidly expanding tool collection started with me buying a cordless angle grinder to cut over padlocks at customers where I needed access after business hours. That was like punching a hole in a large dam... Suddenly I "needed" both this and that, and not having a family to worry about, it all went very fast. I have learned alot in the process though and even took up welding as a hobby (also highly recommended! It is one of the most useful skills you can acquire). Right now I am awaiting delivery of the M18 chainsaw. Every payday is a little like Christmas. 😁
      Either way: you are going to love the Makita. Going through wood with it is like cutting through butter with a red hot knife!

    Thank you. You have answered all of my questions, so as a 67-yr-old female DIYer, I will stick with my cordless makita...it is lighter (I couldn't find the weight anywhere except on this video!)

    I have both saws. I like them both. If I'm set up in a work station then I wanna use my corded. It just feels better and feels like it cuts better. But I also really like the cordless. When I need to cut away from the work station, I'd rather take the cordless saw. I don't have to drag the cord. My milwaukee cordless has a hanger that fits onto the 2 inch boards as my Makita corded does not

    Yea, for a circular saw, I lean towards an electric model over a battery one.. I've used many different brands and am undecided between makita and Milwaukee . I've had more makita tools than any other brand but I know Milwaukee makes very nice tools. Thank for the video brother, be well!

    They also make a brushless version of the 18 volt saw as well as one that uses 2 batteries which makes it 36 volts. Also they make one with a rear handle and one with blade on the right. I prefer the blade on the left since i am right handed. Makes it easier to see the cut line.

    Cordless is much easier to use, but similarly powered models are heavier if you tag the batteries on. They have these 40V or even 60 on the dewalts now. For saws, I still prefer corded. The few instances that I need to do a sketchy cut at an odd angle I will use lower powered cordless. Also you are not tied to any systems and just buy the tools that work the best. The one thing that really bothers me with corded saws is that they all come with like a cord that is basically uselessly short. I wish the manufacturers will understand how much a stock long cord is a great selling point.

    • @BorsellinoHomeServices
      @BorsellinoHomeServices  3 роки тому +1

      Totally agree with you. If I just need a quick cut though I'll grab the cordless just so I don't have to get a cord out and all that. saves a couple minutes. Actually there's been a few times where I've had both setup at the same time. I can't remember why though haha. Yeah I wish the stock cord was longer too. You could always change it out with a custom longer one! I've seen a saw sometime in my life that you actually plug an extension cord right into the saw...

    I bought a corded makita 5007 mg. I really like it but the blade spin down after trigger release is a little long. Takes about 5-6 sec to stop spinning. Any way to adjust this or thats just jow these cordes ones are? I noticed the cordless ones to less time to spin down.

    Corded tools always work so long as you have power available. If power is not available battery powered tools may do the job. To me it seems like it is always a race to get the job done before the battery runs out. Battery overall life still is an issue. Replacement batteries are expensive. That said there is a place for both.

    So you are telling me that right out of the box the battery sucks? interesting, mine with cord was working right away out of the box, I don't care very much of the weight since I slicing with that, not keeping in the air until I get tired. haha Thanks for the video.

    • @BorsellinoHomeServices
      @BorsellinoHomeServices  3 роки тому

      It's not that it sucks but the corded one definitely has a lot more power behind it. Like ripping a sheet of plywood it always feels like I have to go slow with the battery saw and I can fly with the corded. But the cordles is my go to all the time. I did upgrade to a 5ah battery which made a huge improvement for but the circular saw and the sawsall

      Thanks for your mean comment!!! This was more of a comparison of corded vs cordless in general and less about the exact saws. The new saws are basically the same thing and it would be the exact same video with a newer version. Yes, they are both good, but there are TONS of people who don't know anything about saws, and that's who this video is directed to. People who don't know if they should get a corded or cordless saw.
