2016 CX-5, same spun-off short cable. I bought exactly the same bar stock from Home Depot, 1/8" x 12" zinc-plated, and it was a tiny bit too thick to slide into either receiver. My micrometer reported just shy of .130 inches, .005 greater than 1/8" (.125). Using my bench grinder, I shaved both ends down to just under .125. This works for the motor's receiver, but evidently the receiver in the seat crank is a hair smaller yet, so I continued shaving one end of the rod down to .120. Now it fits.

Thanks for the video. I followed your instructions and fixed the problem. I'll add that as another viewer sent a link to Amazon for what I consider to be a better fix than the 50 MM, almost 2" piece of 1/8" square metal that I used. As found in other comments, using the solid piece instead of the flexible one made it much noisier. I'll put up with the noise as long as I can adjust the seat, and I don't really adjust it all that often. I want to add that that there are two pieces. A long one, which I don't think goes bad nearly as often and the shorter one, that seems to be the one with the most problems.

Had the same issue in the same spot! Got me the 1/8” barstock and cut then grinded off the ends. Was a headache putting in, however when i went to test it didn’t budge. I removed the motor from the space and made sure both sides spin, which it does. However still won’t turn when I put it back in track. Any other ideas?? Thanks!

Not trying to be a troll, but Maytag/Whirlpool brand is crap. I am replacing my OTR microwave that has a 10 yr warranty on it. It pooped out after 3 yrs. I’m single and the only one who has ever used it, and I treated it well. The manufacturer refused to honor the warranty. The door sensor no longer identified when the door was shut, so it wouldn’t run. Maytag/Whirlpool only warranties the electrical/motor. Such a waste of $600!!!! They lost me as a customer forever!!

I have this microwave oven for several months now and notice the auto fan when it detects heat on, it will go on for a long time, several hours, I had Whirlpool before this and it wasn't like that, even when I measure the temperature at the oven, it was same as surrounding, but fan still going. I had to unplug every time because it suck out indoor conditioned air and that cost a lot of energy bill, even the microwave wire at the plug feel warm to the touch. About installing, I had to use aluminum tape to seal the vent at front door in order to route all air suck in from cooking below to outside, the oven setting/damper allows air to vent both directions.

Just did mine. Some people take the front grill off in other videos. I went in through the top like in this video. The longest part of the whole thing was trying to find the damn screw I dropped

PLEASE use an n95 mask or respirator the next time you sand epoxy. You dont want wood dust in your lungs, but you really dont want epoxy dust in your lungs.

Just seeing this video. Helpful tips and nice to hear that you care about the work that you do for your customers. How have your prices changed since 2020? I am just getting a plow put on my truck for this year. I plow snow for my job, but not on my own. I plow roads and highways and not residential or commercial. I really am not planning on using my own truck for this except for family and close friends, but it is nice to have an idea on what to charge for doing it.

Thanks for the video. My wife (62) and I (61) tried getting a handyman out to install. We contacted about a half dozen of them, and none could work us into their schedule for the next 3 weeks. We got quotes anywhere from $120 up to $750 for the installation. Instead of waiting forever or becoming a victim of highway robbery, we used your video as an instruction guide and were surprised at how simple it was. We both have bad backs and got it done injury-free. To make the lifting simpler, we moved our stove so we could support directly from beneath, bent at the waist, and lifting or supporting weight is not our friend. If you're hesitating to try this yourself, don't, just be sure to have an extra hand and follow the instructions in this video.

Excellent video! I took the easier way and bought the piece online, but should have dived in first since I realized that the short piece had just popped out and not broken. So that would be my only advice to others is to fully diagnose before buying piece online or making a new one. evidently this popping out issue has happened to others in this comment stream. Regardless, your videos saved the day!
