This is Indiana’s state pie! 🥧 Mrs. Wick’s is an Indiana company that makes the best! They sell them in the frozen foods isle in the grocery store. If your lucky enough to see them buy it. It’s so good! Some people will eat the pie out of the fridge while others will heat the pie up. It’s all preference. Oh, My Sugar Pie in Zionsville, Indiana makes these as well and she’s been featured in Oprah’s magazine and the Food Network magazine as well as others. 🥧 We usually don’t add the melted butter 🧈 on top just a light sprinkle of nutmeg. :-) It’s a very simple pie.

I'm Type 2 Diabetic and I have actually taken this recipe and changed it a bit too. I substituted Splenda or Stevia powder instead of sugar and that actually makes it completely diabetic friendly. :) Love the new Kitchen! Makes me wanna come over and cook up a storm! LOL Oh one more thing I used the new "Swerve" brand, brown sugar replacement and it works perfectly for that creme brulee topping you showed and keeps it sugar free! ------------Randy

Shared this 🥧 last night with the family. We all loved it. Following you Paula, I added a small sprinkling of brown sugar. It was a snap to make. I did learn something about my new oven. If the door is left ajar while broiling, the gas automatically shuts off. Which I suppose is a good feature when small children are around.

Matte black with white on the island and white with gray on the rest and also used quartz slabs for the backsplash and one entire slab for the built in buffet that comes out of the kitchen into the dinning room. We went with a painted dark blue cabinets and stainless steel appliances. I can’t wait to see it in person. I’ve been staying in Hawaii taking care of our kids. My husband has been FaceTiming me so I can see everything. Moving in 8 weeks.

Cream pies are the most simple & the BEST..I love them. Adding a touch of 🍁 maple is great too depending on the season. Just perfect.

My Grandma always made this. It is so good. My Grandparents always had milk cows so it was an easy pie to fix for 8 kids.

Looks delicious. I wouldn’t put cinnamon on top before broiling because when you broil or torch cinnamon it gets a bitter taste.

Add sliced bananas over crust then pour filling over..drizzle top of pie with dark choc..yummy😋

Very interesting! When I make a sugar cream pie.. I don’t put better on the top.. after you make just sprinkle nutmeg on top. Pie doesn’t need to go back in the oven.. yes this pie is a Indiana thing. Wick Pies come from Winchester , Indiana the best! It’s a must a Thanksgiving!

I'm a big fan of sugar cream pie and I was looking up the recipe and I found yours. Creme brulee is a smart idea! That's a Hoosier pie by the way and that's where I'm from and I'm going to do the creme brulee that's brilliant!

Yes, I'm sure her pots n pans are hard anodized and can take the metal utensils. I always like the deep dish pie crusts too. Pie looks delish and it does remind one of creme brulee!!😋
That pitted pot is from her line of cookware, which is not hard anodized.

The pot comes in Paula's pitted ceramic-coated pots and pans set, which I bought to give as a wedding gift. The color is called Savannah Blue. So, Karen (aka Stacey), pull that big stick out of your a$$ and learned to play nice with others.😝
