Pretty cool but my OCD would not let me sleep at night if I had not cleaned up that ragged hole 😂
i know man. that bug the shit out me
jagged?
Truth of the matter is, and make no mistake... I love my Mustang, but Ford dropped the ball on the original clear coat on these. Virtually ever one you see has clear coat degradation. I'm very happy with the Smooth Replacement, but be cautious on installation. Make sure you line it up perfectly. Thanks!
Damn never thought of it as a faux gas cap, always thought of mine as just a gt badge and I like it. I was just looking to restore my panel as the clear coat has begun to wear off. I’m not cutting my trunk up man.
So for my 2012 it's basically remove the fake gas cap and dremmel out the hole? Since it doesn't come with a factory decklid. I just purchased the rtr decklid and drilled holes and attached a pony emblem.
how come the replacement panel doesn't have clips? I would feel better about it if it had clips given all the impact/rattling that decklid will get with opening/closing the trunk
Every other installation video - use 2 plastic body panel tools, push the tabs in...
Bill - yanks it out 😆😆😆
Why did they make this one as opposed to the one you guys sell for about $350 tha comes from the factory without emblems? I purchased and installed the the other one and i love it!
Make some for 05-09?
You should have shown the part where the decklid kept lifting up on the edges.
I regret doing it. Not worth it
I agree. I think I’m going to try the RTR decklid instead. Most people seem happy with the fitment on that one.
@@justinm.1732do I have to drill cuz a homie did his and he never drilled anything jsut popped off the older one and stuck on the new one
My dam deck lid keeps lifting up at the top edge 😡
Will I be able to add the coyote badge instead of the pony and GT badge?
i know this is a late response but I'm going to buy this panel and I was wondering if you can buy and put the mustang emblem on the back with 3m or do you need to drill holes?
Does anyone know what those silver sticker things he put on is called
It's dynamat.
I followed the instructions to the T but for some reason the panel keeps wanting to pop off. I even went to my local store and bought more of the 3M automotive tape and it still pops off along the top. I cut it completely flat put the tape on as shown but it pops off after 24 hours
Ouch😬
Decklid is probably bent or twisted
Covered every inch with 3M tape. Came off again the next day.
Car was straight but lid didn’t fit right. Ended up using clear marine adhesive and it held great.
@@politicalmechanic9501 Can you tell me which particular marine adhesive you used? I’ve been trying to get this decklid to stick for over 2 weeks.
Please what is the color of that mustang? It sure doesn't look like the regular sterling gray
It's a custom vinyl wrap
everyone hating but i think it looks way cleaner, just clean the hole so it looks tidy
Does anyone know if this peels like the 2013-2014 OEM decklid?
Idk but that's the reason I'm getting this mod. Honestly from all the stangs I've seen with this mod, none have peeling issues
@@ENr369 I'd like to report that I did buy this mod two years ago and mine has not peeled like the OEM one lol
@@ViolentHorizon01 sweet I'm about to install rn! Thanks for the update!
@@ViolentHorizon01 thank you for the info.. installing mine today 🙌🏽
Seriously, why would you buy a replacement that requires you cut the trunk lid? Maybe its just me, but no thanks.
how can I get the covers for the factory holes plus the one I'm gonna cut mine didn't come with them
It is just dynamat, we offer it on our website.
Ford bolt on parts or Tape on parts, May fall off anytime on any bumps
whats the width of the s550's trunk lid
Don’t depend on that tape to hold mine popped up in 3 days
I'm not that stupid to cut my mustang for this !
same
@@thewintersoldier8387 it’s worth it
@@joelaguilera9157I'm smart enough to cut the hole 😂
For owner v6 like to do that
My smooth deck panel didn't come with the hole covers, i guess I'll have to use gorilla tape 😂
Same glossy look as the factory decklid ?
Yes it matches the factory gloss trim
4:20 blaze it
Hello I broke my factory OEM Decklid panel. I couldnt find it on the web. I want the same one.If someone is upgrading them and dont need the old one or know where to get one can you let me know ?
Arda yo i am upgrading mine the model is 2012
Julian Durango Whats up man, thanks, is it same for 12s and 13s ? Because 12s don't have it as OEM . If it is the same size, that would be great!! Anybody know ?
AR3Z-6342528-F is the updated deck panel for any 10-14 mustang GT. Its the only other factory part (other than original gloss). Has same material as license plate area below it, no gloss so there is no hazing to have to worry about.
I have one from 2014 but the bottom half peeled from glossy to matte black
Isn't this the same as the RTR decklid panel
The RTR we used to offer was metal and some had corrosion issues, this is ABS plastic.
Plus the RTR one has a RTR logo on the bottom right corner which I personally don't like.
11secondeclipse this is the same one from freds parts it has the holes on the back to drill out for the 15 gt or pony badge if you want it. I prefer the unknown with no emblems
It's better looking OEM.
Why doesn't someone make one that you don't have to Hack up your trunk panel.I mean come on now folks.
My 2012 only has the shitty looking faux cap not the panel.
Its not a faux/fake gas cap. Was never called that..ever. Its called a name plate and its an emblem. Makes Mustangs look like Mustangs and not Fusions.
Um yea on my 2010 the deck lid is all one peice. Was wondering if they bolted the name plate on or if its 3m adhesive stip
I've also got a 2012 i think the process is the same should be easier if anything since you're not having to remove a decklid already on.
So bad 2 do this 👎🏻
Who thinks this flat glossy panel looks good?? $300 for this?!? ... it sticks in with 3M tape ffs. Hells to the nah. Stock looks good or a change of the pony emblem to a different emblem but not a flat look for that amount of money.
Its $200 , I still think it's way too much for a piece of plastic ....
$200 sucks, but I’d pay $500 to lose that horrible looking emblem. It kills the looks of the car.
@@Kara.Zor-El i but at the end it's a piece of plastic for way too much money . I mean I know AM has raise their prices by like 20% , but I'll rather paint the emblem for $10 lol .
@@Kara.Zor-El No. Its the classic look. Makes the car not look like a Fusion.
300$ ?!?! Whahhhh
Yuk!
This is ugly in my opinion it looked better before
