These videos from forever ago keeping my algebra grade afloat. Sir you have made your mark on UA-cam, my brain, and this world. A legacy of teaching not soon to be forgotten.
I’m in advanced math and I entered the class late in the year so I skipped a lot. I’m not that used to their method of learning so I watch these videos and they really do help me understand lessons more.
I had a friend ask me a question today Basically, when dividing everything by -5 to separate -5 from y, when we divide -2x by -5, his question was basically why is it -2/-5 rather than -2x/-5. Like why, and how are you able to separate the coefficient and variable? Like he was wondering why the fraction that you get is not -2x/-5 rather than -2/-5(x)
can someone please tell me why the fuck no one told me there were good math teachers? My math teacher spent the whole lecture talking about bill millers. It started productively, then he related the subject to inflation, then got way too into his life story about how they are charging more for food than when he worked there. if only all math teachers were as simple and concise as you, the rest of the period could be used for tutoring and answering questions for those who need more help
My teacher told me a short cut which is u take the opposite of A and divide that by b and that is ur slope. And then you get C and divide that by B and thats your y intercept.
This helped it was quick and efficient and now i can actually keep my grade up. also- random but i noticed all math teachers literally have the same handwriting
Ive struggled with math since 4th grade but this year I thought I was getting math but then we had a test on Linear Equations and I completely failed and didn’t understand anything. My teacher is great but she goes so fast so if I don’t get it I just give up. I’m sitting here doing test corrections now and needed a reminder so I looked up how to rearrange and found this video. Thank you for explaining why you need to do something and what the end result should be, that really helps me and I think I’ll keep coming back to this channel.
Kitty Pop lol that’s easy I learned that in 6th grade. It’s almost like they are “cousins” as my APEX teacher told me. They are the same thing, except You are not really trying to find out the “y” You are just finding the slope and changing it around
I learned more in 2 minutes than in an entire lesson with my teacher
happy to be able to help
Agreed
True dat
Yes , but what’s sad is this happens for me every lesson 😂 he is so great
Ditto
THANK YOU SO MUCH
I wish if you were my teacher

Did you finish it yet
legend has it theyre still taking that test
@@dizzykinkajou7866 no 😔
I come to this channel whenever I don’t understand a topic and completely get it by the time the video is over
Same 8th grade algebra was killing me then I found this dude and now I got a 94
What if y is only y and x has a number?
imagine his students
student: i forgot how to do this
also student: rewatches the teacher's videos
yeah, his students are like so lucky
youtubes a better teacher than my 7th grade advanced math teacher lol she basically tells u a page number and thats it, thanks so much
real, mine too
excuse my profanity good sir but i simply cannot express my adoration for your videos in any other way. you fucking saved me, man. i owe you my life.
These videos from forever ago keeping my algebra grade afloat. Sir you have made your mark on UA-cam, my brain, and this world. A legacy of teaching not soon to be forgotten.
My teacher gives 30 minute videos where the person dosent explain it properly and then just does it without explaining for the rest of the video
Saved me from failing algebra for real
This man still replying years later, I wonder where Jonathan ended up.
Haha good question
This was so helpful! It was a great explanation that answered all my questions
y'all ain't had to loud cap Johnathan like that
He’s such a good teacher bro 💀😭
btw thank u for doing this video!!! im having a evil benchmark tommorow and im over here studying and wasting time when i can watch yur videos ;3
So would u always solve for the number without a variable first, then x, then Y??
Thanks these videos are good brain refreshers and I like how you get right to the point with good explanation. Thank you.
you are very welcome!
Today is its my exam and I’m already answering this helps cus I suck at math

jonathan pay attention! xD
Wow, great explanation! I finally understood and now I know that I wont fail my maths exams! Thanks to you maths became fun again for me!
Going into high school algebra 2 honors after summer and online classes is so difficult. Your videos are so helpful when trying to refresh. Thanks!
wow thank you so much!! I have a test in 10 minutes
Thank you SO MUCH for this video! It's so crazy that the dude who made this video was still responding to comments like 8 years later.
😂 Fr
You’re literally a life saver our teacher never explained this and this assignment was just thrown at us
the absolute GOAT of online math videos. Thank you so much!
So the slope is 2/x5 sir??
i didnt understand fully im low IQ on math sorry
Do you have a question?
My teacher I respect him but he doesn’t really know how to explain so here I am 😂
can someone please tell me why the fuck no one told me there were good math teachers? My math teacher spent the whole lecture talking about bill millers. thansk you, very helpful. My teacher didnt explain this good at all
My teacher told me a short cut which is u take the opposite of A and divide that by b and that is ur slope. And then you get C and divide that by B and thats your y intercept.
cramming in 4 topics for my midterm tmr, this taught me more in 3 mins than in an hour and a half class period
If the number connected to x is a negative does it get turned into a positive then?
Can some one tell me the average grade you learn this in
Bro u actually have helped me so much, best math channel on yt. ❤
So helpful! Can finally do my quiz now.
best of luck!
Nice
Noticed this was from 9 years ago, how are you doing present day
Thanks for helping I appreciate you
I didn't think that it was this simple. Thanks.
This helped it was quick and efficient and now i can actually keep my grade up. also- random but i noticed all math teachers literally have the same handwriting
That really helped. Thanks :)
Hello, I understand the steps and get the answer right, but I keep getting my negative and positives mixed up. Please help me!💕
my midterm is tomorrow thanks bud😟🙌
Mr clean is a better teacher than my own
is there a video that does the opposite?
Thank you soo much! this is by far the best explaination I've seen, it's even easier than what my school taught

Been saving lives since 2011. Thank you for knowing how to teach unlike some teachers
Hope Jonathan and Kira pass their math tests!
My math teacher made it so complicated, when i finished watching i was like "that's it?" lol
Right watching this I have my finals tmrw
thank you so much, our teacher just handed us work book pages after badly explaining on how to figure it out.
Thank you so much for your help! I learn more from you about line equations than my entire junior high😅
how is jonathan now
Haha probably not so goog
I have a unit final and im pissin my pants
Thank you so much I was confused in this subject and those 2 minutes were the most helpful thing I've ever learned
Thank you for helping me
i needed this for something i didnt know i needed it fpor. and bam in 2 minutes i undertsood it lol such a great teacher
Thank you!!
am i the only one who still doesnt get it
bruh a whole hour and 30 mins to learn this in class just for me not to understand it and 2 mins i understand this
you helped me get through highschool and now your refreshing my memory in college thank you
Jonathan Pay attention to the teacher
Thank u so much this helped me understand this a lot better! I appetciate it :)
how to i turn (4-x)(x+2) into a normal y=mx+b to graph it?
so ig this man just doesnt age
this was so helpful. my math teacher just writes things down and we copy it. doesn’t help that she is left handed either.
oh alright sweet. that's wayyyyyy easier than my teacher explained it
This helped so much I have a pt 2 if my math test time thank you !
thank you to this man
This was actually the most helpful video I’ve ever seen
thank you Mr mcalogan your saving lives out here
So HELPFUL!!
Thanks a lot
My back hurts
Sir if the slope intercept form is y=-4x+24 is it fine to change it to y=-1x+6. Thank you sir.
Yeah just say y=-x+6
Thanks for the help, i was confused on how to do it
Damn it Jonathan
How would you do it if its 2.2x+y=12.5 ?????
Y=-2.2x+12.5
Kitty Pop lol that’s easy I learned that in 6th grade. It’s almost like they are “cousins” as my APEX teacher told me. They are the same thing, except You are not really trying to find out the “y” You are just finding the slope and changing it around
Parker Railton wouldn’t it be y=-2.2x - 12.5
actually a great help thank you very much
But how do you do it if the standard form is x=3
there is nothing you can do with that
Brian McLogan yes there is I am learning for to change standard form into slope intercept form and then we graph it in slope intercept form
Brian McLogan I am not saying I’m right but the teacher told me something thanks for the help tho!!!

thank you
you are very welcome!
thank you so much learned in 2 min
