My father had a Wheel Horse 6hp, 3 speed to mow our acre yard in the sixties, and it worked well for him for 20+ years. Amazes me how much hp people THINK they need these days...

..Cool, decent little tractor. Great-uncle of mine had one except it was all manual lift. He had the plow, cultivators, mowing deck and cutting harrow. Danged kids of his junked it. Count me in on the ride Shane...!!

Thanks James. I'm excited to get it going! Dad had all of those attachments to except for the mowing deck. He didn't need one, he had his 3 boys for mowing the lawn ... lol.

I like those. Always wanted to do that project. If I recall the odd numbers in those days were hydro evens were geared.
    Keep em coming

nice solid units those are, alot of the farmers around here still have them around for dragging driveways and stuff like that, they also made belt driven snow thrower for that era machine as i recall

I would love to get a snow blower for this one. It would sure make life easier this winter.

Shane - Blind Dog Blades wide vision metal fab. Great guy. He just moved from a farm. Years ago retro fitted a cub with a car cv joint. I am going to point him at your restoration. Jim

What could cause my 147 to slowly stop moving forward and reverse all of the sudden? Now it won't move either way

When I was reading up on the hydro trans to trouble shoot mine, I read the most common problem is either a plugged filter or low on hydro fluid.

Jeff polara I’m not an expert on these but I would think that for a fully restored one that is a very good price.

If it was done correctly, that is a terrific price. You can sink $1000 easily on an old garden tractor restoration.
