Thanks for posting this video, I've just completed the rebuild and installation of the PTO clutch on my 147 and it went perfectly thanks to your instructions.

one of the best video on this topic so far. only one comment, he is measuring the gap on one spring and adjusting on the adjacent. measure each spring and adjust that one just a little before moving to the other. gradually adjust until they are all to spec.

I wanted to thank you for putting this detailed video up on you tube. It was very helpful as I too needed to rebuild my PTO on a 127.

Gotta love these good ol' made in the USA cub tractors! Yep, even their 1/8 set screws were made with high quality where by cub cadet even used them on their pto clutch. This junk that's being imported from places like china is lucky to even have grade 2 fasteners on them let alone grade 5 and 8 like on these old cubs. Me and my dad started 25 years ago with a cub 128. Made a set of v-gripper chains for it and man you can't stop that thing! We were so impressed that we now own 8 cubs including the harder to get cub 124 that has granny gear which makes it REALLY NICE for tilling....but anyways thanks for the video! My clutch won't disengage even after adjusting the linkage rod and so watching your video I can see where I am probably having the trouble

Guess What dude; my 124 does NOT have a front pto clutch, I'll have to start from scratch either pieceing one from scratch / OR / find a used one that is enough left ofit to rebuild (hopefully)

id like to see his video on how he takes that bearing off and replaces it. That is part of many replacement kits.

The set screws probably seize because the wd-40 evaporates
Use something different like legit oil and not penetrating fluid

Your demonstration of rebuilding the manual PTO clutch was very good , except the anti chatter springs you didn't install.
Yes the clutch will work fine until the fingers on the fiber disc wear down from rocking back and forth without the springs to hold them snugly in place ,and eventually the fingers will break off one by one .

What springs because I have 2 cub cadets a 1967 cub cadet 104 and 1968 124 and the pto clutch has no chatter springs just what is in the video

WD40 becomes a dryant so if you want lube to be there use a silicone lube. Otherwise very informative
