I've done something similar but leave the O-ring behind the ball and race and the lock collar in front just like you have it set. This way the stones can't slip too far forward or backwards off of the knife. I find it works great and have never had it slip in either direction.
Hey Samson edge, I got my blade scary sharp with KME 300 with your video. If I go with higher grits 600, will the blade hold it sharpness longer in your experience?
Thats kind of a tough question to give a straight answer to. It really depends on the angle of the edge bevel and what you are cutting. I personally run a 600 grit edge on my edc and user blades. The best thing to do is to play around with different finishes on your blades and see whats gonna work best for you. Plus, thats gives you an excuse to get to sharpen more. Lol
