EPIRB and PLB aren’t exactly the same. I have heard Ronny say epirb a couple of times when the owners have said PLB. Maybe a video on EPIRB vs PLB vs satphone would be good.
nate brindy yes and a EPIRB gets set off if immersed in water. Also EPIRB sends a different signal and will keep sending signal longer than PLB. The battery is bigger basically. Few other things but most people carry a PLB not EPIRB. Another this is the spot tracker, that’s different again. That’s why a video on these for 4wheelers a good idea. I do solo trips on my motorcycle sidecar that’s why I carry one.
excellent video Ronny! I love those old rig modified episodes, specially if they are Toyotas (being an old Toyota LandCruiser Owner and fanatic myself). Cheers all the way from Panama
Mate, do the world a favour....don't install HIDs in the headlights. At least not the low beam!! Those lights aren't designed for HIDs and will blind oncoming drivers. How do I know? I fell into the trap about 15 years ago with my (then) GU Patrol. I ended up getting rid of my various HID driving lights too....they are crap compared to my Fyrlyt Nemisis which are 250w (each) Halogens.
24V is a Japanese standard? I remember talking about NATO spec. vehicles with the local LC club. Some people converted to 12V for finding bulbs?? I'd thought about putting a FF rear in, but it would have involved shipping Oz to Canada. Oz ,the land of LC spares - and aftermarket turbos.
If you need parts for your Japanese import (or need to know what the parts are), try these guys; jp-carparts.com/. 1997 Toyota Hilux Surf SSRX 3.0TDE- Gold Coast, Australia.
I dont know about the 74 but my bj71 came out factory with suspension in the seats similar to what you would find on an old bus. Helps alot when your giving is some off road or hit a speed bump a bit quick
Gorgeous well used and built vehicle. wish i could have one of these, ive passed on a few as they seem to be rust buckets or needing rebuilt around the time they get sold here. would never put those giant lights in front of the fan/radiator but it seems to not give him any problems
Great cruiser! Congratulations on 200k subs Ronny! That's a mammoth effort! Keep up the great work mate, you've entertained and inspired a lot of people including myself and continue to do so. Cheers!
I have the 1986 BJ74 and love it !......I noticed the factory internal roll cage was missing was this to get extra room ? , prefer my 12volt version to much going on in this one for me but good on him for making it his own . Good vid as always Ronny :)
Factory roll cage wasn't fitted on JDM models (or at least not all of them), the rear seat mounting is also different, much lower and further forwards than the ADM back seat.
Well done Russell. Also love the electrics and use of ebay, you clearly know your way around. Ronny can we have the ebay links for the lights and dimmers? (I did look here and on the website, can't find them).

Heeey a 70 series we can have in the US!
but with no diesel engine :(
@@kallenstandish7944 why not? You can import diesels too
california emissions regulations, these BJ four cyliders arent EURO6 compliant but the v8 diesel is and even they arent allowed
@@kallenstandish7944 I believe 1997 and older diesels are actually smog exempt in CA.
If they are 25 years old you can. We do a lot with the 70 series
SWB, solid front axle , lockers, KO2'S what more could you want
those electrics though.......
