- Time-lapse video of my dream 4x4 build & first project car. I combine an XR6 Turbo Motor with a 40 series cab on an 80 series chassis. It’s taken me 2 years and 3000 hours to get to this point which includes many hours contributed by my friends, a little outsourced work and plenty of off-road testing.

3000hrs at minimum $30 an hour is a 😳😳😳 mind boggling. Such a fantastic effort. Best build on UA-cam, forget Binky and all of the other "builds", you sir take the cake and I'm so lucky to have seen it in person!

90k in 2 years. In a typical year there are about 2,000 working hours, so this build took as much as a 3/4 time job. :)

I know exactly what goes through your mind when you open the door to the Toyota, sit down and turn the ignition, a big smile involuntarily happens and you keep smiling all the way to your destination. I’ve owned and restored 31 vintage Military Vehicles (all but one was American) and some were extremely rare but in time, they came together along with the help of great friends, I couldn’t have done it without them.
You did very well young man.
Is there anything more satisfying than watching a skilled Aussie go balls deep on a restoration project? I think not. ❤

This is fantastic - the build and the video! I had a HJ40 shorty so I can relate. The Barra engine will give you plenty of torque too.
