You and your wife are good people, Scott, helping your community. And great video. I'm in Los Angeles and this has opened my "eye" ideas for eBay. I watched a bunch of your videos and then got things rolling about two months ago with my eBay account, just selling things from around the house. Very slow start, but I'm learning how to do it. I don't want to invest in auctions yet, but this really helps. Thanks again!
Just saw this video and you are an amazing educator! So generous with your knowledge, time, and donations! I’m in Minnesota so got a kick hearing you were up in Duluth. If ever you come back and into the TC I’d love to show you some reseller hot spots I’ve discovered. Sisu sister Vintage N Thrift
We try to get to Duluth every year. It's nourishing to the soul to sit by the lake. We have, in fact, never stopped in the Twin Cities. After driving from Texas, we are ready to get to the lake by the time we hit the TCs...tired of being on the road. But if we ever do drive a route that puts us there for a day, I'd definitely be down to finding some great spots. :-)
This was a fantastic video! I really liked those shoes that look like bowling shoes. You got some great deals. I wish y’all lots of luck on the reselling.
Being in the middle of a western Canadian province, we have only 2 auction houses within reasonable driving range in good weather (3 if you don't mind driving on back roads for 8 hours) and viewing is usually only one day of the week. None specialize in liquidations or bankruptcy so buying anything new in lots would be very rare for us. I did make money on live auctions in the past but since Covid forced them all to go online only, competition has made the prices unfeasible. This is great information for anyone with access though and it's also a lot of fun to go and view the lots and try to win them.
I would imagine you are VERY rural compared to me. It's a little over an hour for me to get to the southern edge of the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. That's usually too far for garage sales and estate sales, but very reasonable for a big auction.
Returning to this video just to say that I tried this method and started looking in my area and OH MY LORD I was hooked. It took all of me not to start bidding right away and just reading and watching their streams to learn more. And now, I just lurk 👀 at these auctions all day lol I just wanted to share my experience that on some auctions (at least all the ones that I “dabbled” in) they will show how many people are “watching” and how many bidders are currently joining the live auction. DON’T GET DISCOURAGED IF YOU SEE THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF WATCHERS!!! I did on this one auction where they were auctioning like 1000 items, it was also on a Friday during working hours, so I guess not a lot of people could follow through. But the lot I really wanted and would have been willing to spend $100 on, sold for $22 😭😭 All because I saw a lot of watchers and thought there’s no chance I could get it. So that’s a huge lesson learned lol.
All GREAT information. Thank you for the comment! And I completely agree. You can't know why others are watching, and it may not impact the price at all.
If you are running out of listings on a regular basis, yes. I'd look at getting a store. There's other perks, too. Being able to run a sale is a great benefit, IMO.
My wife and I are looking at getting into reselling on eBay and we stumbled upon your channel. You have lots of great info and I really like your presentation style. I have so many dumb questions I would like to ask you! One thing I was wondering, are people ever able to source items to sell through online sites like Temu? Just curious -- thanks!
I don't think it's a dumb question at all. I've looked at TEMU...with zero luck. Poor quality. No quality control. Floods the market with inventory if there ever is something worthwhile, which drives the price down. If there's money to be made there, I haven't found it. I appreciate you checking in!
I don't. You have to document your donations. There's forms to fill out. For example, there was a guy there picking up something from the auction. He bought one thing and didn't appear to have much. So, I asked him if he wanted some of the shoes. He LIT up like a Christmas tree. I don't want to fill out a form. I don't want to catch him on camera for clicks of likes. But, we hooked a guy up with a pair of shoes. And, it'll sound silly, but I don't want to start making donations for tax purposes instead of from the heart.
@@TheChaChingKing You are a Sweetheart! Thanks for sharing your goods! Now, if everyone pitched in and each one gave one, it would be a much better world! Thank you!
It'll take Melody and I about 3 weeks. All of the shoes were made by Spingle Move in Japan. They are a high quality sneaker. There's a lot of hancrafting in every shoe. Retail on them was $325.
I have a question on how to start my eBay store. I've been told you need to add items every day for your company to grow. I have a lot of inventory of a few different things (25 mouse pads, 40 car phone mounts, etc). How should I proceed to grow my store if I can't post new stuff daily?
No, you can sell without one. Having one allows you to make business purchases that are for take without paying sales tax. Ebay pays your sales taxes on your behalf
I'm so new, and don't understand shipping. Do you have a video that goes over that? I'm a Texas girl living in Alabama. Sold a few items after being laid off and now I'm over my head.
I had mine done by a graphic artist that I sent to high school with. I didn't ask for a discount, but I really don't know what it should cost. He created the entire logo and gave me digital copies for a variety of different formats. It was $400 a few years back
That’s wonderful!! You guys are so generous!! Thank You for this great video!!💙
We've been truly fortunate and want others to enjoy the same.
Excellent topic and great video ChaChingKing!!!!
Thank you!!!
Thanks for walking us through the process of that auction and expected post pricing. Very helpful!
I truly appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment.

A slow, deliberate start is really the way to go. You can do this!
Y'all are so generous! Thank you for sharing this information. I took a peak and it appears we have an auction house like this in my town! 😃
Oh yeah! It'll be worth checking out anyway.
Thanks for the video! Great info and generous as always!

Very cool I’ll have to do some searching on the internet!

Bravo on donating some of inventory!
Great video thanks! I’d love to buy one of those pig & hen bracelets from you for my husband for Christmas. Where will you be selling them? Thanks
They are being listed on eBay. Our main store is oldschoolwear

Quick Q: do you recomend to pay an ebay store? Ive used all my free 250 listings this month and still have plenty to post.

@@TheChaChingKing Best and Quick advise as always! Ty EbayKing! 🙏 getting that store set up right now!

Do your give aways account for donations on income tax? Thanks for sharing such valuable info!

Question- if the product obviously never been worn/used ( ex: shoes purchased from a thrift shop) is it brand new -or- pre owned?.
I usually list it as used, and then I include the statement, "If this was ever used, it wasn't used much. "
Curious -- how much time does it take to photo and list all that inventory?
Were those mens shoes "unbranded" and mainly from China?

Listing something every day is ideal, but it isn't mandatory. You just need to be as consistent as you can be.
@@TheChaChingKing okay, thank you so much!
Hi I also live in Texas and sell on ebay , I heard about Texas reselling certificate , Is it mandatory for ebay sellers?
No, you can sell without one. Having one allows you to make business purchases that are for take without paying sales tax. Ebay pays your sales taxes on your behalf
