Tell you what man, I’ve never been impressed by “traditional” jewelers, but you sir have a way of making it not only entertaining, but super informative and educational. You can really tell you love the work you do, it shows in your work and your videos. You have a new subscriber and I do believe I’ll be giving some cut stone a try sometime in the near future! 🤙
Thank you for the super detailed tutorial. I really love to make along with you. It's fun and I always learn a tip or trick I didn't know before. I made a pair of 8mm ruby earrings with you on this video! Nice to have company in the studio. Tell you wife we are all sending her lots of love. :-)
Hey your opinion matters. I think your review in the moissanite was the best so far. You weren't like other ppl who raved about the gem, but after reviewing you gave the gem credit. Still stating how diamond is better. And I agree. I also agree the people making moissanite is trying too hard to copy as diamon. Wish it was valued as its own gem. It's nice as it's own gem.
Color sistem of gia is complex. For example the como white parper, looks Very white and clear, but they ad a slighty shade of far lilac, Very close to UV, that make the white more white. It's visible in natural gemstones. Aquamarine Very Very colorless, is more white and bright than a clear quartz, in same shape. Probably the sensation of the CZ is more white is this Phenom
Soooooo grateful for these videos!! Finally got all my tools and now just looking for knowledge! Thank you thank you thank you for these videos!! Truly priceless!!
Thanks for the videos! I find them extremely valuable and packed with great info! Hoping to become a patron soon (working on the budget for it). Just a naive question, why do you turn up a flat bit of metal instead of just cutting the 'U' shape for a collet out of sheet? Also, any advice on how to turn up a collet without a collet punch? Thanks again for sharing your experience. It truly is appreciated!
Moissenate D color on a certificate is different then a diamond or CZ D color. Moissenate by its chemical nature will always have a slight yellowish tone even at the most colorless grading. So the moissenate certificate is rating it correctly. You can't just compare the moissenate certificate and direct compare to a diamona certificate.
The UA-cam channel "Rhino's School of Rock" did a pretty thorough video on moissanite, 41 minute video. He machine tested a moissanite color and got a DE color grade, but when compared to a diamond side by side, it's close to an F grade diamond. He also had a G color moissanite and compared it to an H color diamond and mentioned that it would probably be closer to an i color diamond. The machines might not be able to accurately determine moissanite color for whatever reason.
Unlike diamonds moissanite is not regulated. So one producer can claim their moissanite to be a D color when obviously it isn’t. Charles and Colvard had a patent on the stone for a few years and until recently could only call grade their stones as “near colorless”. I have both c&c moissy and from other producer and love them. Only main issue I have with moissanite is the film that develops on top of it over time.

I think they do have blu tack like products in Japan, these seem to be the terms used for them, 粘着タック, ひっつき虫.
Thanks so much! So they know it as adhesive tack then. I may order it online as I cant find it in shops
@@DiamondMounter Glad I could help.
