@@whynot0969 I dont think so there are alot of 2.8 motors here with 500 000kms and more on , there are 2 in our town with almost 600k kms on and no issues ,just rutine maintenance like with any motor is important , the only issue that we have found is the charge cooler on the 2.8 cruiser does limit your gains when tuning and adding extra power , but once the guys sort that out with a upgrade then we can take it further and make more power reliably
The 2.8 is an auto and the v8 is a manual ,so to compensate for the kick down the v8 was left in gear at a bit lower rpm so it also needed a little time for boost but when both pull at full throttle the gap grows gradually which is why he said roughly the same
I was also hoping for a better motor , but its the one we got ,we are working on one to see the results of a ecu tune and exhaust , will post the vid once its done
Legend has it, they still haven't started the race.
I'll Keep my HDJ79 Thanks!
Yes brother that's the way to go. 1HD-FTE is king
4sylinder working twice as hard, to keep up with v8, let’s see the longevity on these 2.8 hahaha
I’ve got 4 cyl 70 series from 1993 and it’s done over 400,000 km on its original engine and drivetrain.
@@whynot0969 but its not just keeping up though , its whipping ass
@@maplotter684 that’s even worse for it, don’t you think ?
@@oldskoolchevy1593 agree old school 👍, I don’t have any faith in any new cars, even Toyotas, and I’ve had 10 of them

The 2.8 is an underpowered piece of crap. I was so disappointed Toyota put this engine into LC150.
V8 is an underpowered piece of crap,so they're a good pair
Have you even driven one
@@DestroyerOfLiberals got one mate,it's amazing how it can burn so much fuel for so little power

The V8 is the most disappointing, underpowered pile of shit ever. And you are trying to say the 2.8 is bad...wtf
