  • Join me as I review what in my opinion is the WORLD'S BEST PRECISION SCREWDRIVER SET. This remarkable tool packs a whole lot of precision screwdriving capability into one conveniently small handle. Watch the video and learn the many reasons this is my favourite precision screwdriver set for finicky jobs involving tiny bolts and screws.

You are probably going to like the Framework laptop, as it is really easy to repair and replace components, unlike almost all modern laptops.

Absolutely agree: good tools go a long way, using cheap tools may end up costing more eventually.
I have the same MacBook Pro, very solid machine. Exchanging the batteries is the only thing needed - possibly replace the thermal compound. Absolutely agree on what makes a screwdriver a good screwdriver. Curious if this is available in my neck of the woods (The Netherlands). Oh wow - the way you absolutely wear out the keys on your keyboard is quite something! I wear out the lettering but you seem to wear down the surface of the keys as well! Diamond finger tips :)
I see you did away with the optical drive and use the bay to house a second hard drive! That's quite nifty!

Fan of your channel here. Yes, good tools are indispensable and pleasant to work with too. Best from Denmark.

Like it but my favourite is the HOTO. I also use creative space electric. Good video thanks.

I had that machine and as an IT pro I can say that I also loved the interchangeable memory but I also have to point out that it is largely pointless as memory technology advances, larger memory sizes are only available in newer memory technologies and to makes matters worse prices for older memory shoot up because of economics: a nice size older memory can save you the expense of a new machine so there it goes your benefit. I personally like less and less the new Macbook Pros so I may eventually be leaving Apple because Windows has largely caught up in most if not all needed technologies.

Does that mean newer memory can’t work on it?

@@jimwatchyyc most probably no. I don’t recall exactly but that machine I think used DDR2 and we are now almost up to DDR5 now…

Is it that you like your Mac book or is it that you have to repair it so much you have your own repair center in your house?

I remember working on cars back in nineties when I rounded off many bolts because I used poor quality tools. The tools were cheap but I could spend a little bit more for much better tools. Make no mistake that you can buy pretty cheap tools at Harbor Freight without sacrificing the quality. If a tool is made in Taiwan you can be pretty sure it is a quality tool. In general I avoid hand tools made in China because I find the quality of their tools inferior and inconsistent.

Not only will newer memory not work on these laptops, it Apple limits upgradability of the OS, so you are locked into older OS versions. This means less security, and. Also limited access to apps. As new apps will not work on the laptop either.

"WORLD'S BEST PRECISION SCREWDRIVER SET" - 'Click-Bait'? rather than a review on the merits of different styles and purposes of driver sets?
UA-camrs these days seems to be more interested in pushing for 'absolutisms' rather than the desire to share and learn.
Thick heavy handles with weight at the top of the driver and a thick shaft to hold short bits can work with wide unobstructed spaces like cases or back of laptops, etc.
But can be clumsy and not as controllable in sensitive (electronics, tall electronic components like tubes, large capacitors, or small mechanical components like watches, etc).
In tight situations, I found slender driver with a swivel top can allow more control where needed.
There is a 'need' for a variety of screwdrivers for a wide variety of purposes.
I appreciate your pointing to the quality of the 'bit' not rounding over due to soft metal a significant issue no matter which styler drivers and bits you use.

Meh, pass on the Taiwan tools. I’d much rather use Starrett or Moody.

You mean PB Swiss, Wiha, Wera?
I know its a North American company((only from googling it after watching)....But it very very offshore sounding name lol. If they want to be known for good stuff this video and name change may help
I've always steered away from this company cause of the name lol

I agree 100% that those MacBooks were the best. Let’s hope the new ones fix some of the issues. Although we won’t get replaceable memory probably. 🥲
