As always, this video is a banger. It was near perfect. The only issue I noticed was that you misspelled "creates" at 48:46. I have so much respect for you and for the videos you make becuase, having tried to make my own video essay, I recognize the immense amount of effort that goes into even the most half-baked video essays; and your videos go above and beyond. You clearly do a lot of research for your videos, and it's impressive. I don't know how you find the time and motivation to make this stuff, but it's truly commendable. I tend to prefer shorter video essays because its easier to find the time and to comprehend them, but this was fantastic. I appreciate that you explained the idea of postmodernism clearly, becuase I often hear people mention it without explaining it. Thank you for your videos. Please keep making them.
Every time this anime is talked about, I am reminded of how beautiful and raw it is. For me, it is the richest work in meaning that I have seen, each chapter being a delight for people like me who like to analyze the works I see as much as possible. Seeing you talk about Lain in such an interesting way and with this complex video essay, it is very gratifying, I love your videos and you always manage to attract me during the long duration of your works even though I do not speak English perfectly, because I am Spanish, but here I am, digesting each video you upload with great delicacy, you are great.
Was not disappointed in the legit showcase of PostModern skepticism built into the thematic analysis in MGS2 and Lain, but also even more appreciative that you shirked the "so skeptic to the point of indifference and despair" which low-key the Stoicism and Nihlism trends has ironicaly fed back into the current incarnation of Masculinity as narrative... Anyway in a post-post-modern/reconstruction way, wading out of our decontextualized lives does require some level of faith/hope, if not in some god or reason and certainly not in some inevitability of "utopia", than at least in re-subjectifying yourself against a true desire for change... And hey, all things considered, a pragmaric view on praxis is far preferrable mentally and for personhood
You can find it in most places u find anime and manga.. in other words, as everything, it is paid... But there are other methods if u know what I mean 💀
The noise consumes us all the noise consumes us the noise consumes us all the noise consumes us all Wonder if LETS ALL LOVE LAIN can be seen as some idealization of post truth, of a god that exists everywhere and nowhere
That's fair.. what I wanted to say was modern internet culture as is. The internet did exist back then but it wasnt as prevalent as it is now or even 10 years from 1998.. it didn't have the same culture it does now.. but yes a pretty silly mistake from my side Then again that part is me tryna exaggerate fanboy arguments abt Lain so
