Thank you for your review, I am always looking for a comparison. I think their size is almost identical ? The spec they listed is a little bit different. Thanks again!
Was a week deep into looking for a backpack to buy, I looked at everything brand like Goruck, evergoods, Mystery Ranch etc... Then i stumbled upon the CT15, its less than half the price of the Goruck. And I'm in Asia so win-win P.s now that i finished the video, dude I had the same freaking Idea!!! To store my aer city sling inside, I'm a Civil engineer and usually inspect projects with my sling as it carries my basic essentials, this is perfect then leave the back pack in the office then take off with the sling

Hello Andy, and thanks for the review. In terms of carrying ruck plates, how much weight can it be carried with no issues in the CT15? I am thinking of carrying 20 - 30 pounds ruck plates in there. Will it be secured without moving?
I've never used a ruck plate, myself, but it seems like it would be okay with a bit of weight. The sleeve is similar to those in the gr1, so I think it would be secure enough unless you're shaking the bag up and down a ton.
Hi, i would also like to point out that the CT15 that i have has a double layer cordura/xpac material in their main compartment. Is that the same on yours as well?
@@AndyModellBackpacks Yep, mine was a limited edition xpac version.. Since yours is a cordura version, it would then make sense that the side walls are double layered cordura. Just wanted to point that out that depending on which material of CT bags you opt for (cordura or xpac), you can expect that the side walls of the main compartment to be double-layered! ;) Cheers!
Only the GORUCK Bullets and Ruckers (latest gen) have 210d backing which is my favorite material that helps prevent (or at least minimize) SBS (Sweaty Back Syndrome). I wish this material was made available on all GORUCK bags as well as by other manufacturers. Sigh.
No backpack backing material will ever win if you live in Asia/tropical country with off the charts humidity 🤭 I envy those dna-encoded humans who don't sweat a lot.
I’m considering buying the CT-15. I like quality packs. Is the goruck a noticeably higher quality? I would appreciate if you responded. Thank you. I just don’t want to pay $125 for the ct-15 if it is not worth that price.
I've not been able to see the bags in person. Do you think the 21 is considerably bigger than the 15? I am looking for a nice EDC and am having a tough time deciding on which size. Thanks and appreciate the review😊
@@AndyModellBackpacks New viewer, really enjoyed your video! I'm torn between the CT21 and CT15 myself. My current EDC is a 21L and oftentimes I feel like I only use half the volume carrying small EDC gear in quick access pockets, along with a water bottle, lunch, and hat/gloves/scarf/long-sleeve shirt in the main compartment. However, during the summer, I often need to pack my work uniform to change into after my walk, and sometimes in the winter I will pack my work shoes and walk in boots. Would you say the 15L could handle that sort of special case extra loadout? I've never used a clamshell style EDC bag before, but I've heard it can pack a lot more than you'd initially assume based on volume alone. I'm really drawn to the 15L since it's less bulky. They also just put out a high-vis option that so far isn't available on the base 500D 21L model. I feel like if I also purchased their CT5 pack down the line I could stretch out the inner volume for extra gear. I've never used a configuration like this before, so I'm just curious.
I have both. The 21 is the limit to fit under an airplane seat. So if you want maximum carry for that purpose. Get that one. If not, the 15 is great. If it was not for traveling and using maximum space, I would have bought two 15.
Thanks Andy ! Great videos n reviews you make . They are practical and gives fare idea which product to buy . I hv seen almost all reviews of yours and specially all the Goruck backpacks reviews . Good luck for future ! Cheers
I don’t know if there were strictly problems with the vx versions, just more limited availability. I have the hot orange ones in vx now and they seem fine to me.
@@AndyModellBackpacks okay, thats good to hear! would love a video on that hot orange bag or maybe a comparison between vx and cordura 😉Thanks for the feedback on the bag!
thx for the review. just happened kinda confused to choose between these two bags. I prefer CT because it has molle webbing on the side to attach water bottle pouch. I also have vanquest bottle pouch. but on the other hand goruck lifetime warranty is a good bonus though.
Personally, I really like a lot of the improvements that CT made, especially the admin organization in the front. I’ve been tempted to get a ct21 to use instead of a gr1, too.
Me too but once you’ve tried CT15 you kinda wonder why you paid 3 times more for a Bullet considering they are same material, country of production & almost similar in design….
Good vid! Thank you. Subscribed. I prefer the original Goruck anytime but the CT are a good alternative. Prefer the original to support Jason and team. Don’t like “copies” of intellectual / design property infringements of Jason’s original ideas but this is arguably the best compliment made to Goruck and solidifies its cult-like status in the rucking community. I have nothing against CT at all - great on them for affordability but keep it original please and move away from Goruck as an independent standalone design and production company of its own line of bags. Customers decide what they want.
CT’s recent limited edition Black Widow come with VX42, cost only 1/3 of my GR Kaidan with VX21. I also have the Bullet Heritage yet I tend to gravitate towards the Black Widow
@@merlinbrid and Goruck is simply ripping off customers when you consider Bullet Laptop & CT15 are of the same Cordura 500 and made in Vietnam. Yet Goruck cost 3 times more.
Nothing controversial about it. CTactical purposefully copied GoRuck's design and made changes to it. Illegal? No. Ethical? Not really. But in the end, customers who wanted a genuine GoRuck won because CTactical forced their hand to add a sought after feature to one of their most popular packs. When in fact, they we're going the other way and subtracting features (in their words, "simplifying") but charging more.
I don’t think GR1/ bullet are patented by Goruck. It’s a generic backpack design with many others similar before Goruck was established. Have you seen GAW or Filip Roboch? If so, then M22 is also a copy of Trekke? Plus it’s not like CT made the exact design with “Goruck” branding. That, to me, is a no go.
I got myself the ct15 v3 to accompany the bigger CPL24 for like $77 shipped to my door. What an incredible deal for a quality EDC backpack.
Goruck is good, but Ctactical is better (organization).
Factoring the price, Ctactical is MUCH superior than Goruck.
Great video, very concise and informative, with out all the fancy, unnecessary intros.
Thank you!
