CT is very intriguing. I like that they are innovating gorucks base since goruck is not. It really is that simple. They’re providing worthy additions at a faster rate than go ruck. That sounds like a Goruck problem. That said I need more. I need a better back panel with elevation. I need a quick access pocket. I need external water bottle pockets. Yes I know some of this can be “fixed” with molle accessories but I’d rather pay a premium for a bag that has them in the first place than additional dollars to add in what I want. And yes I need a usable front pocket. And personal preference talking here. I love x50 but can’t do camo. Tactical is fine but needs to be in non camo.
If only you had that CT Assassin it has a quick access pocket. Albeit I feel CT should just put a QAP to all their bags instead of a hydration passthrough. Actually they were able to put both a passthrough and a QAP in the Assassin.
Great review, I love your enthusiasm. The CT bags are already amazing value. There are just a few things that would make this bag an absolute EDC beast. 1) I agree with the front pockets, that front flat pocket is a nightmare to use. It would be even better if they had their front pockets arranged like their interior pockets, top pocket covers top 1/3rd, bottom pocket covers bottom 2/3rds. 2) Have the same quick access pocket like they have on the assassin. It's a game changer so it would be amazing to see it on all of their bags. 3) Implement exterior vertical zip side pockets like how they have it on bellroy transit pack. The side pockets can serve as an exterior water bottle pocket, or additional pockets for first order access. Imagine having 6 first order access pockets, 2 on the front, 2 on the sides, one quick access behind the handle and the laptop? The carry options would be endless! Is that overkill? Lol...
18:23 okay okay, we are on the line now, hehehe. Thank you for your great review! We hope you will have good experience with the bag and we promise will do it better everyday! Thanks again, Klint!
Hi thanks for review. I just place order for the 21L version. The last pc at the moment. I like the material & zippers water resistant and with external webbings. Can‘t wait.
Their quality is really really good. I got the burnt orange CT21. A giant negative though if you're a bigger human, is that the shoulder straps have waaaaaaaay less adjustability than most other bags. Mine BARELY is big enough for me to get on and be relatively comfortable. So sad, because I do really love the bag. Maybe I'll try to find a seamstress that can do good double stitching to replace and make longer. YMMV
Hello, great video and thanks for the review. I really like how you have this set up with the Vanquest LB01. I just found the CT bags and I had a question. I looked on the CT site and it looks like from the photos that the V3.0 doesn’t have Velcro inside, do you know if this is true and do you have any suggestions to achieve the same 3 pocket system within the newer CT bags? Thank you!
Great review. Thank you so much for it. Any chance that organizer also works on the CT15 V2.0? Really want to get it but thats the bag I own at the moment
Some one online said the company that makes these was making them for Goruck, that Goruck had on the lowdown, moved manufacturing to VN. When this became public knowledge, Goruck quickly moved Manu back to US. True or false?
I think that’s false information. Lots of bags made in Vietnam, in lots of factories. I see how it would be easy to make some of those connections - but I don’t think that’s exactly how it happened, and I think GoRuck still makes some products in Vietnam.
Cool. Anyone can say anything with authority online! Was very close to buying a GR1, and happened to find a reddit post about alternatives, and I bought the CT21. We'll see how it plays out.@@ThePerfectBag
Vietnam at the moment is the king of softgoods manufacturing. They manufacture 5.11, Alpha One Niner, Goruck, Maxpedition, Helikon-Tex and many more. I had a GR1 from Vietnam that was better in QC than the MiUSA Bullet I got.
Hey Klint, long time enjoyer of your videos. Keep up the great work. I was hoping you could answer a question. I am in the market for some backpacks and am having a hard time deciding. I initially thought I wanted a ~20-25l and a smaller 15l bags. I was thinking the CT15 and the Greenroom Northseeker. However, having looking at the dimensions they are very very close in size. Is this true? Do one of the makers have the liters wrong? I would definitely lean towards just the Northseeker if they are close.
Liters are a very inexact science. In practical experience, the north seeker, even the smaller size, feels like a significantly bigger bag than the CT 15. The material has a lot more gift to it as well, which allows it to stretch or poof out more than the CT 15 does
@@ThePerfectBagthanks for the reply. I’m not sure what to do. Maybe I should buy both. Here’s another question, does the Alpha one niner Whitley compare more to the Northseeker or CT15 in size? It looks smaller more like the ct15 than the Northseeker, but has a lot of features like the Northseeker.
Hi is there any test to tell that will the waterproof film 3rd layer of the Xpac will wears out overtime after friction and over packing that make it stretchs out like the waterproof goretex shoes? And xpac have the 4 layers option but no 4 layers option with the outer 500d cordura or 1000 cordura though. Which is kind of a shame, I want a material that are built like tank inside and out.
Here's what I'd say about XPAC. First, it's my favorite material for bags. It's light and super durable. I haven't had any issues with wear on my XPAC bags outside of the lines on the stitching 'popping up' over time, which is just cosmetic. The waterproofing "film" layer should actually proove to be MORE durable over time and most XPAC fabrics are also PET coated on the outer layer over time as well. Look for an X50 bag - which is layered XPAC with a 500D cordura waterproofed face.
but honestly I wouldn't worry about the durability of XPAC waterproofing over time unless you have a much harder life planned for your gear (mountain climbing, etc) than most others.
Now that it's been another 6 months or so, have there been any changes in your top 5 EDC packs? Vanquest still #1, or has the CPL gone up in placement there?
@@ThePerfectBag Thanks sir! I did have one question for you - trying to decide between the CPL24 and the Whitley. Any pointers as to why I should pick one over the other?
@@ThePerfectBag I thought it wasn't the same models because the link doesn't work and I don't see 'Multicam' or anything written on their website. Also am I crazy or the pics from the website shows non-waterproof zippers, but the backpack in your video has them? I guess I should ask, are they waterproof zippers? Thanks.
CT is super legit! Happy to see this brand getting more traction. The value they are offering is crazy.

I haven’t noticed it being insufficient, but in bags, one size def. Does not fit all!

I haven't tried out v3 yet - but without the hook and loop it will be hard to get this kind of pouch setup :(
I hope this (or any other Xpac version) comes back. It's what I was looking for in the GR Bullet, and for what you get, the price is fair.
I’m certain it will!
always love a new review! almost like a cup of coffee!
Great review! Awesome bag, for sure. I may have to pick this up.
Honestly this is a top 10 laptop bag for me now - this specific version

It would work in any bag that has a hook and loop back panel

@@Trexican21 The CT15 is a little smaller and with less organization. The best comp for the Whitley is the Aer City Pack or the Able Carry daily plus.

which one do you pick? CT21 or able carry daily?
Ct21 I think
Do the other backpacks they offer have the laptop area on the back also? I clicked the link for this bag and it must be sold out?
Yes. With the exception of the CT 10, all of them have the external laptop compartment on the back. All of the CT15 and CT 21s do

I don't have one to test!
