Happened to us just this morning! Hope y’all are well- your Auburn viewers in Alabama
Thanks for watching but bummer on the window break. Hopefully our video was somewhat helpful.
The hinge system in genius.
Well done
This week we take a break from our travel series to show how we made a temporary patch for our rear window after our lawn service vaporized it with a rock thrown from their weedy whacker. And although I made this repair in my driveway, all tools and safety equipment are carried with us on the road.
I followed your steps and just fit a plexiglass window with hardware on my 23 ft flying cloud fb. Got the window ordered but it won’t be here for about 4 weeks. Now I won’t miss the summer camping season. You can’t look at the window and tell it is not the original. Thanks for the demonstration.
Thanks for watching and we're super glad that our video helped you get your summer camping season underway.
I've taken off all of ours to put on a privacy film, once you figure out the special spot to hook the top onto it is very easy. I took all of the hardware off before putting on the film, a side benefit of the film is that it keeps out a lot of heat from the sun.
I had the same thing happen in the spring from a lawn mower. It took about weeks for the window to arrive. Done.
Good job done. My window going to change this morning.
Thanks for watching and good luck. The only tricky part (that required some editing) is just getting the window on the hinge just right...
Have you looked at your door to see if the frame is being cut by door? Look at line in door frame bottom.
Thanks for watching! I have to admit that I'm a little confused by the question. No issues with the door or frame...
@@LuvSubbin a number of airstream doors hit the frame when closed at bottom. The trim on bottom of door cuts into the frame on trailer . You would see a black streak under the door. You could be lucky and it ok.
Surprised you didn’t lubricate the rubber gasket with silicone?
Thanks for watching! We lubricate the rubber gasket with silicone as part of our spring maintenance checklist.
Love the channel, do you have a story behind the CG Station Jonesport shirt?
Thanks for watching! I have the highest respect for the Coast Guard and it was always my dream to serve. Sadly, poor eyesight kept me out. I was however able to participate with the Coast Guard Auxiliary for 26 years.
@@LuvSubbin Sounds great! I retired from the CG after 20 years so thanks for your support.
Thanks, I just broke the same window and your fix looks good. I can do this. I can’t find the replacement window only. All I see are windows and frames together. Any suggestions where we can get the window. I have a 2010 flying cloud 23FB. THANKS
Sorry for the slight delay in response - we have no WiFi. The best place to get the window is through an Airstream dealer. I would download the parts list from Airstream and give them the part number.
What did you use to take duct tape glue remnants off so you didn’t scratch your skin up?
Thanks for watching! It just came off. If it didn't, we would use WD-40.
I would love to know the dealership you ordered your window from. Please share.
Thanks
Thanks for watching! We went with Colonial Airstream in New Jersey. We were in a crunch and needed the "best of the best". That's Colonial for our region. We live in Vermont so we are not close by.
I hope you got compensated from the team that broke your window. Or USAA? We are getting compensated when our roofers broke Mannequin Piss! On another note, I can't wait to be part of your travel video for the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival!
The Lawn Service paid for the damages. Thanks for watching!
Weedy wacker 😜😂😂😂
6 weeks
And hopefully your landscaper is paying or at least bartering services.....
Yes - they were great and covered everything without a hassle.
