I love Oaxaca as my wife is from there...now we live in Canada as that is where i live. We go there monthly as i do not want to take that away from her even though we now live here in Toronto. A number of years ago I visited Mexico. Not the resort Mexico but the real Mexico. The trip included La Ciudad, Merida, Chichen Itza and Oaxaca. While in Oaxaca we went to Monte Alban in the mountains nearby. Oaxaca was the highlight for me. It is a beautiful city with so many interesting sites. I loved the food. Would love to return.

I live near Niagara Falls, Ontario and I went to Oaxaca in Feb. 2020 for a photography workshop, had a great time and eager to return! I"m not used to the food so that was challenging for me but I guess that's what travel is for, new things to experience.🇨🇦

Mi apa is from Oaxaca. His family was known because they were bakers but sadly both parents died in a car crash and he and his 4 siblings were orphaned. Im *HOPING* to finally visit and meet my dads side but bc of covid-19 im not so sure 😭 you dont know for how long ive been wanting to visit mexico.....

I dont know what is the most beautiful city, may be Oaxaca, Puebla, Morelia, Merida, San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Guadalajara, Queretaro or Zacatecas but I am sure that Oaxaca is one of most beautiful..

Visiten Oaxaca ! Este año 2020 la fiesta más importante es la Guelaguetza y será los días 20 y 27 de Julio....es Lunes del Cerro pero la fiesta empieza desde iniciando Julio y cada sábado hay hermosos desfiles llamadas Calendas ! Es muy hermoso y una gran experiencia para todo el turismo . Se los recomiendo muchísimo.

I think you can go to the Benito Juarez market and ask for the meal that you want to eat and they cook it in that moment. Then you can buy an ice cream but you need to try exotic flavors. You can hire for someone who takes you to "Hierve el agua" and "Montealban".

Sorry, but the Rockefeller Christmas tree is iconic, traditional, nostalgic, and classy. The Oaxaca Christmas tree was tacky with all those gaudy-looking piñatas. But the rest of Oaxaca is very nice though. P.S. I love mezcal

We hope to retire in Mexico in 3 years and are looking for cool weather, safe, good hospitals, and a walkable city so we don't have to have a car ( we love to walk and ride bikes as long as the temps are 70s and below), and plenty of things to do and see. Our short list is Oaxaca, Puebla, Queretero, and Guanajuato. We speak Spanish and have lived abroad before. We prefer local typical, rather than touristy with expats. Because of family connections we will get permanent residency right away. We hope we can live comfortably as a couple on $2000/month or less. Thoughts ?

I am chinese the capital very much like merida and campeche. I have been to San Luis potosi as well. I luv xixtla outside of San Luis potosi. During the time I was there it was during the riot and strikes between government and teachers union. Tyulda looks good but you have to try the local places. That place was recommended to me as well but a local say it's catered to tourist. The boy said I bring you a home cook one and he said go to local vendor. It was so sabor the home cook one. The one in the vendor was good too but not as good home cook. Try a tamale or torta tamale. The one I had is next to a health clinic or hospital.
