    Wonderful - Delson is so illuminating to what is actually going on. I realized after this talk that there is a lot of conceit/pride and clinging to jhanas and Buddhist identity in my TWIM practice and what an accomplished practitioner actually looks like (laughing to myself right now about it)!

    I found this talk incredibly helpful. THINK before you speak is a nice acronym. And the understanding of Relax as satisfying the urge/tension of sense desire without needing to engage in sensuality.

    1:37:25 Good point about bring the relaxation in front of craving so that we can forgo the craving, instead of satisfying the craving in order to get the relaxation effect.

      Good point. When craving is gone there is a relief but it just keeps coming back... 😞

    At around 1:12:00 Delson talks about eternalism being wrong view, but I don't get it - what about the experiences of many meditators, Delson included, of having seen their past lives? Doesn't rebirth imply that there is a transmigration of impersonal consciousness between personal, individual selves?
    Thanks for sharing this lecture by the way, still watching it but commenting so I don't forget to ask :)

    Dear Deslon, I heard about you have mentioned about the flickering of consciousness in my ears that indicates we're in path or something to do improvise our meditation method. Please elobrate on this flickering and advice me on this 🙏

    • @davidjohnson8218
      @davidjohnson8218 2 роки тому

      This flickering that he talks about is part of the 6th jhana. You are seeing the arising and passing of consciousness slowed down. But having this outside of meditation likely has nothing to do with what he is talking about.

      @@davidjohnson8218 I have been experiencing flickering sound in my ears, whenever just being aware of my body. What's related to my experience?

    • @davidjohnson8218

      @@Neelakhe I would just 6R it and let it go and relax. Come back to your object. Its nothing really.

    🙏 would practising the first 5 steps of the noble eightfold path be the wholesome actions rather than the precepts ?

    • @fingerprint5511
      @fingerprint5511 2 роки тому +1

      the precepts. not part of the 8 fold path. precepts and 4 noble Truths.
