  • In this video I'm breaking down 3 cleaning business mistakes that I see so often, costing cleaning business owners tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars over the life of their business. I'll teach you what they are... how to avoid them... and how to fix them... if you've made them in your business. Happy cleaning!

    Me and my wife own a small residential and commercial cleaning company this advice is so spot on! Stick to your guns on who you want as a customer its so important. I am pretty adamant about the weekly bi weekly its a whole different customer and prevents scheduling nightmares. When choosing who you want make sure if they are a couple that they are both on board with having a cleaning service. If one of them has no interest it will not last. Great video this advice will save you lots of angst!

      Thank you SOOO much! And great thought too on a couple needing to be in agreement... so true! I appreciate you!

    visited 14 apartment complexes yesterday. Really had to get out of my comfort zone (I'm an introvert). Got one job for sure and very possibly 2 more complexes (with 4-5 more also possible). I felt so discouraged UNTIL I started getting positive feedback. Best advice I have for anyone is to dress sharp and be confident in your abilities when speaking to property managers
    Please instruct me on how to land a commercial cleaning job. I think this will become my bread & butter

      You're on a roll! If everyone can master what you said there, they'll have no shortage of work EVER! Dress up, be confident, and GET IN FRONT OF PEOPLE! Love it! 🔥

    The biggest mistake is charging by the hour

    • @TheProfessionalCleaner
      @TheProfessionalCleaner  11 місяців тому +9

      It can be! Depends on the client type. I've had many residential clients who hired me simply bc I was the most expensive, and they would say things like... 'We don't care how long it takes or what it costs, just get the job done right.' And in commercial I charge by the job, but my bid is based on my hourly rate, I just don't reveal that. Work the angles! :-)

    I’ll join your thing next month. Starting my cleaning company today. I have an LLC, Gen liability insurance, a W9, and a cleaning checklist.
    So far I’m 1 for 1 in talking to a property manager to get business. He wants to pay $5 less than what I want, but I said it was ok bc I don’t yet know what should be charged for apartment make-readies. I asked what his current cleaners charge and he said $95.
    I’ve revised my prices to $90 for Studio & 1 beds, and $110 for 2beds & higher.
    I used to do make-readies when I was 16 and when I got good, I could do one in under an hour.
    Will be nice to learn more professionally from you.

    Good information! I was wondering if you have videos on starting a remote cleaning business and residential versus commercial cleaning remotely?

    • @TheProfessionalCleaner
      @TheProfessionalCleaner  6 днів тому

      Yep! Search my channel for 'remote cleaning' and you'll find it. But I do teach a more traditional way to get there. Some coaches are way overselling the ease of a fully remote cleaning biz, and the profit margins are generally REALLY bad. I teach quality over quantity, which is what leads to long term success, and long term happiness as a biz owner. :-)

      Same answer as your question on the other video. That all depends on you. I never care or focus on statistics like that because they are irrelevant to me. If we want to make something work, we will. So if you want to make your cleaning business succeed, and you put in the work, you will. :-)

    Could you give an example of how you would ask or find out if they want good enough or perfection?

    • @TheProfessionalCleaner
      @TheProfessionalCleaner  7 місяців тому +2

      Yep easy.... "Do you mind me asking what level of service you are looking for? I only ask because some customers want perfection, while others don't. But knowing that will help me calculate your bid." :-)

Check out my Amazon page for my recs. Really depends on the type of cleaning you're doing. :-) www.amazon.com/shop/theprofessionalcleaner
