Hi everyone! I’m aware that there are issues with the audio popping at a few places. I will be working to understand why this happened so it doesn’t happen in my next upload :)
What struck _me_ about WLOP's art the most wasn't the flow, or the value maps. (These are all great, but it's hardly WLOP's trademark skill). It's WLOP's grasp on chroma and hues. A lot of my older art has had this problem where I wanted to paint with subdued and naturalistic colors, but it would either look way too dull, or way too saturated. WLOP on the other hand uses very limited palettes to create illustration with an astonishing sense of atmosphere. If you look at the archer lady (the 3rd art you showcased), notice how there are only three prevalent colors, and notice how the cool negative space beautifully offsets the warm cloak and the figure itself. Personally I think that's what makes WLOP art remarkable but I'm happy to see other people exploring and sharing their thought process.
I’m giving you the strongest of slow nods of affirmation cause you crushed it!! So glad you pushed through the imposter syndrome. This turned out really, really good and I definitely see the WLOP influence in the final render!
I loved listening to the way you break everything down, it was easy to follow! I think the style was so fun and interesting, and I think it turned out beautiful. 😊
Look up Linda Bergkvist. She is the O.G. digital artist of this type digital painting. Her style tended closer to realism. Linda was really active in the early 2000s but not as much any more because of thieves and bullies. But, I think you can still find a few of her tutorials if you look for them. Perfect for someone who is learning.
So beautiful! I can see the effort you put into this. I've just recently started picking up on digital painting. Hopefully one day I could be as good as you are :')
I really like how u are informative to us and give helpful advice. Also u are So natural and Real when u say u aren’t some art genius who gonna draw identical like wlop but u will try ur best. Thats So important to not be like other person but just learn and improve piece by piece! Ur amazing and it’s really nice to watch u. Also the art of u drinking the wlop drink was soo funny xD
I’m so happy to hear that! I will always strive to be real, I think it’s important to be humble and honest. Also I’m glad someone noticed the little Wlop drink, I spent way too long on that 😭
@@elletheartmage ur amazing I watched a lot of wlop style guides, but this one was the best. Also I really like ur personality as a ytuber, because you’re informative and entertaining so u earned a new sub ✨
The thing is that yet I'm not great but like I can probably like have a style similar if obviously I do some tutorials also I'm good with Grace go a much better with great gold I am with color because what colors it's too many violates with color and it's very difficult to get the right values without looking either to watch that or two oddly that's why I usually do in Grace I then do against separately in color do my best to try and match what the great go is doing and I once I've kind of got at least similar I use more apply on the grayscale they are to match with the color
Oh shit I’ve also been painting for around 3 years!! This video is incredible! Really well done! Great job and keep it up! These videos are a god send to us🤘
It does look like something WLOP would have made in same timeframe as you. Obviously he's been drawing for over a decade, but when he eas also in his third year it looks kinda like this. If you go all the way back in his Deviant art you can see that
I have a Twitch account but when I used to stream nobody was watching because of time zone issues I think. I should try again sometime though now I that I have more of a following ☺️
Wang Ling had been painting for over a decade. Trying to learn from him is like a novice pianist trying reach Tchaikovsky level. Not saying that you won't or can't get there. However, expect yourself to take a long time and effort

My favorite part of painting is, "Add texture. Remove texture. Add texture. Remove texture. Add texture. Remove texture."
Guweiz, WLOP and Kuvshinov ilya have been inspired from eachother and I think that's super awesome!
Awesome to see your work El!💓
Thank you so much 🥰

Hi, What is the layer mode used for painting the grescale?
HOWOWOWOWOWOWOOWWOWOWOWHOWWWW how do you draw so realistic aghhhh
I don't know whether or not you mentioned it, but WLOP seems to have a massive fetish for the round opacity brush.
It does look like something WLOP would have made in same timeframe as you. Obviously he's been drawing for over a decade, but when he eas also in his third year it looks kinda like this. If you go all the way back in his Deviant art you can see that
Have you thought about streaming art? It's easier to talk when there's people to talk to :D
I have a Twitch account but when I used to stream nobody was watching because of time zone issues I think. I should try again sometime though now I that I have more of a following ☺️
@@elletheartmage I'll watch if I'm not asleep!

Love your avatar! shame wlop went into nfts.
Oh I didn’t know he was into those. That’s a shame
HOW DO YOU AIRBRUSH and not make it muddy wth if I use airbrushes it gets so muddy and not 3d
Maybe I should make a tutorial on this 🤔
@@elletheartmage yeaaaaa please do lol I love semi realism/wlop nixeu art but I cant figure out how to airbrush like them
how did you add the colors? i use krita and want to learn how to draw with this method
I used a colour blending layer and colour adjustment on the greyscale layer. I might do a tutorial on it soon 😊
@@elletheartmageLooking forward for it!!!
what brushes do u use? esp for the hair?
I think for this one, I mostly used Rossdraws soft paint brush 😊
I mean you kinda already had a wlop art style so
HELP WHY DID I READ IT "FLOP" LOLLL
