Gil is effectively very inexpensive in this game. It is because literally almost everything gives out gil, dailies? Gil. Adventurer in need? More gil. Fates? Gil. Sidequests? Gil. Crafting? Gil. Market board? Gil. If you do just dailies with adventurer in need you can grind out nearly a million or so from the DF gil. Also there aren't too many gil sinks in this game and money isn't a requirement or barrier to obtaining gear or access to raiding compared other MMOs (which is fine since not everyone can grind a MMo 40 hours a week). There is a tax system for MB buying and selling (unless for the week it is 0%) and the Aetheryte teleportation costs. The gil sinks are four mounts which total at 175 mill and perhaps housing (with the most expensive house at 50 million) and crafting for housing (even cheaper if you can craft and gather everything).
Why do people pay for a game and then pay to not have to play that game? Then pay even more money to cover up the fact that they don’t want to play the game. Just seems insane to me.

so im a little confused. The first time, the scammer made everyone else pay them to do the raid right? did they pay *others* for later ones? im sort of confused on how the whole thing went down in terms of money given (1st time they were paid, other times they paid others?) also wait doesnt a name change cost real money? I....I'm trying to follow this and am just so confused. Sorry if i sound like a n00b in terms of this whole debacle, I really have 0 experience in the whole money transfer thing and scamming in games (ff14 is my first mmo so...)
No, the first time they were supposed to pay the party after the successful clear, which they avoided doing. They put up a party for endgame content saying (essentially) "Hey, if you carry me through an Ultimate clear I'll pay you folks." They got the clear, then figured they could just run away without paying for it. As far as I can tell (having only watched this video on the issue) there were no later clears. They attempted to make party finder groups to get clears from other ultimates, but it seems unlikely that they would have paid for those either given what they pulled the first time, and I'd imagine the world of people giving paid Ultimate clears is small enough that most people would've heard about the initial incident, although that's really just conjecture on my part. Also, does a name change cost real money? Yes. Yes it does.
I can't believe people still falling for those PF offering Gil for clear, lootmaster and so on, since ever this exists and ends always in the same way. But this one is another level of commitment. OMEGALUL
Well the truth is it doesn't always end the same way. If it didn't, people wouldn't fall for it still. There are people who offer x amount of money and pay it after they get a clear. You just run the risk in running into the ninja looters. All i can say is, i never would have been in a position to collectively lose 126 million. I've never done a carry run that didn't pay up front whatever % i felt satisfied with to where if they cut and run, i was fine with it.
I think its just that only some people know player contract in this game is enforceable by GM, even if it is just verbal one, some folks from other mmo come over, get boosted, didn't realize people can and will report and track your character to the end of time.
not really "falling for it" when money parties are the cleanest, least parse-greeding ones that exist because people just wanna be done asap and get payed

But i don't know if i will do that for p8s before 10% echo this fight is really punishing if one guy go full yolo
I've never not gotten paid when I join bounty PFs, and the few times I'm paying (glam farms for max level dungeons) I always pay out. If your experiences are that bad you can contact a GM who will force the to pay or get their prize removed. Just make sure to use in game communication like party chat.
Mercenary is a legit activity like crafting or gathering. Its huge in Japan DC where I play and also the country this game comes from, and I make a lot of gil through it. People acting like legit work is bad are so weird.
A game that is known to make its in-game currency worthless, a game that cracks down hard on RMT, a game that is least P2W because everything is earned by playing on your own......and then there's this guy trying to pay his way through the endgame. If anything, GMs should crack down on his source of Gil than the act of him scamming people instead.
I think Square really have little authority on the RMT sites since the most notorious ones tend to operate outside their jurisdiction (aka not mentioned out of the game and sometimes out of Japan). They also don't want to deal with the legal nightmares and cat and mouse game and prefer the "don't ask, don't tell" thing they have going on. You can offer gil to buy clears because, well, Square is going to give the benefit of the doubt than ban the wrong person or innocent party.
There's not much they CAN do because of legal reasons, so the only thing they can do is punish RMT activity that has already taken place on a player-to-player basis. They do a decent job at this imo with how quickly RMT advertizers are temporarily account suspended. And its a good thing its a suspension because accounts that get stolen are often used for RMT, it gives the original owners the option to get their account back.
@@mikloskoszegi There isn't even anyway to get caught doing RMT the only way would be if you yourself said you were doing RMT and got reported if you never once mention it ingame they can't do anything

where is the snowflake rage from TOS babies? those jp players had their weapons taken away while this scrub can buy clears and gil and not be banned into the next century. smh
I'd say in this case, offering a bounty via Gil still falls in ToS, the scammer not paying is the problem. As for the JP players that got their stuff taken away, there was video proof they were blatantly cheating with zoom hacks, so the GMs have a far easier time to enact authority in that case.
When they banned RMT services from pf (and other services too), they clarified that posting a bounty for GIL is fine, but offering it yourself as a service is not. (iirc)

Honestly.. even though I've helped people for money before I don't think its good for the long run.. it will only promote RMT and Drama.. I know some people pay for their clears with their hard earned money but some don't so I dunno
It made me remember an experience I had. When I was on E4S, I had BiS and was bored and had nothing to do, so I would join for fun clear parties to help people clear, however, as most of them had traps, I made myself an own rule: -If you wish me to help you clear, I'll give you 3 pulls, after all if it's a clear party, it should be enough to get a clear, as I assume EVERYONE already knows the full fight. -If after 3 tries we haven't cleared and we aren't even close to clearing, pay me in gil or raiding resources, and I'll stick with you until you clear, otherwise I'll leave because we weren't able to clear in 3 pulls despite it being a clear party. And, that rule created a funny tale: Introducing THE 9 HOUR LOCKOUT E4S RAID EXPERIENCE. What happened here is that we were very close to clear, and I told the members my rule, so they complied. We took a little break and they gave me food, pots and some gil, and to complete my part of the bargain, I stuck with them, helping them, explaining them what happened, how to do it better, as we wiped and wiped. It was there an upsetting pull, that it was the clear, all we needed was a melee LB. Titan was low HP, and our only melee stood more than needed in a mechanic to greed a little more DPS, and we enraged under 1%. What hurt me the most is that if that was a clear, it would have been my first ever 99 parse I had gotten in this game. We continued. Then some people left after around the 8 hour mark, and I called some friends to fill that wanted to help too, and at the 9th hour mark, IT HAPPENED, WE CLEARED THE FIGHT. We celebrated it like it was a world first clear. After the experience, the group of friends that I helped wanted to add me to their friend list, thanked me a lot and offered me to craft anything I wanted for free, just bringing them the tome materials and they would do everything else, and add some extra, and we ended up becoming friends. The reason I was able to handle 9 hours of wiping without rest besides holding my part of the deal is that they were actually very chill. Also, the experience helped me optimize the fight to lengths I had never done before, and I was able to do most mechanics at walking speed, keeping most uptime, even having 300ms at the time, I memorized every single timing. The only sad part is that after I quit, I also went for some months to another data-center to play with a IRL friend, and after so much time, I forgot the name of those guys, and I guess they forgotten about me too.
idk, i couldn't give less damn about boosters, like the whole point of the weapon is the skill behind it to earn it and the idea of boosting opposes it fundamentally. and yeah, earning money is not skill. i dont feel bad for anyone here, but holy the scammer seems stupid

When someone would scam me out of 100 mil, I'd probably think they are petty for ruining their account for such a small sum. Like bro, youre throwing your fucking account away for 100m.
For Ucob and UWU yes. It is because they are dated content designed in a different era. An era where TP existed and less body checks (TOP and DSR for example are littered with 8 man body checks). Also food and pots keep on getting better and are not synced like gear. They are still difficult since they are ultimates and are more challenging than you average savage content. But the first two are definitely easier.
Just uwu and ucob. Yeah, if you can clear a current savage tier then with studying and a lot of available hours to wait for PFs to fill, you can clear uwu and ucob in maybe a few days each.

Most players don't hack, it's just the DPS check in the fight is so easy, 1 person can just afk and let others DPS it to death. Or they can also pay someone to pilot the character and beat the fight for them. Other than RMT, there's a lot of way to make money in this game

But it's a weapon. Ultimates are made for that 0,2% of people that have a enough time and a nice group to clear, that's why the reward is a bit meh. If there wasn't a reward, people would complaing that the hardest content in the game should have a big reward, but if it was things like a mount or a legendary minion, only a few players would have it and that's not too fair.
In my case I don't have time or speak english to complete one of them. In my country literally nobody play this game :(
@@maverickh1794 ucob has been cleared by like 3% of active players at level cap, so it's not as niche as you'd think. also your english seems fine, at least at a level where communicating about the game shouldn't be an issue (especially since people are clearing it in PF where they don't even have voice). plus my entire point is that the reward is not worth buying an illegitimate clear for since it's not that good, the value in clearing ucob is more the fun you have doing it than what you get for it
@@penguinvader7057 FFCollect shows that my DSR clearing achievement as 4% (as of today), so i totally agree with you xD
@@aileenswann Keep in mind, ffxivcollect calculates ownership percentages based on accounts that have been updated within the last 3 months on the site, and people who look themselves up on the site are a skewed sample since they probably take the game more seriously than the average user, so I would wager a guess that the percentage of active users who've cleared is lower than that. Still not as niche as people would think though.

They should of asked for half upfront and the other half upon clear. That way, even that no-life scammed them, they'd still walk out with 9 million as oppose to (potentially) nothing.
Btw, I am not saying that what that loser did was in any way, shape, or form good, but what I am saying is that the people who join these Pfs should protect themselves from situations like these. You never know when you're going to get a pathetic loser trying to scam you out of fake digital game currency.
Nah, don't even bother. As long as they advertised it in PF, report it to a GM, and either they pay up or get banned. GMs enforce player contracts.
18 Million gil is $9??? God damnn
The gil sinks are four mounts which total at 175 mill and perhaps housing (with the most expensive house at 50 million) and crafting for housing (even cheaper if you can craft and gather everything).
and AM and Cactbot are free, yet here we are lmao
The best part is gill isn't really needed for anything important, unless you wanna buy houses, it's why i laugh at anyone stupid enough to buy gill.

so im a little confused.
The first time, the scammer made everyone else pay them to do the raid right?
did they pay *others* for later ones?
im sort of confused on how the whole thing went down in terms of money given (1st time they were paid, other times they paid others?)
also wait doesnt a name change cost real money?
I saw once a player offer 7man carry service on pf . They also offer other than 7man carry service like house designer and levekits service.
Sounds more of a head ache than just progging an ultimate
I got a some gils doing that like 20m to 30m the lasts weeks of 6.25 cause everyone wanted to have p4s weapons and chest or EX trial mounts i got my money every time the guys offered 500k to 2m each for the clear so yeah people aren't that bad as you think and most of people buying those clears are next level crafters who have so much money they don't care for them it more worth their time to spend 14M for one 15 min clear that doing 4 hour of PF .
And I thought I saw the most miserable players already
Apart from banning bots and banning people who get caught doing RMT they can't really do much else.
@@mikloskoszegi There isn't even anyway to get caught doing RMT the only way would be if you yourself said you were doing RMT and got reported if you never once mention it ingame they can't do anything
you say that like it is an easy thing, you say that like they have not tried already, or any MMORPG for that matter, its not easy to completely remove RMT
If i had more gil would offer them for clear on any ultimate for carry and i let them know the location to meet. Though i would not use real money offer.
where is the snowflake rage from TOS babies? those jp players had their weapons taken away while this scrub can buy clears and gil and not be banned into the next century.
(iirc)
So... couldn't SE just implement a feature that just gives a delayed trade that happens on duty completion? You set it up beforehand, and if the instance gets cleared the trade automatically goes off. No trust required for anyone, perfect system :D
no, cob is free like any other ultimate. you just have to work for it, hence the issues kekw

Honestly.. even though I've helped people for money before I don't think its good for the long run.. it will only promote RMT and Drama.. I know some people pay for their clears with their hard earned money but some don't so I dunno
It made me remember an experience I had.
When I was on E4S, I had BiS and was bored and had nothing to do, so I would join for fun clear parties to help people clear, however, as most of them had traps, I made myself an own rule:
-If you wish me to help you clear, I'll give you 3 pulls, after all if it's a clear party, it should be enough to get a clear, as I assume EVERYONE already knows the full fight.
This sounds like a Sopranos episode in FFXIV
idk, i couldn't give less damn about boosters, like the whole point of the weapon is the skill behind it to earn it and the idea of boosting opposes it fundamentally. and yeah, earning money is not skill. i dont feel bad for anyone here, but holy the scammer seems stupid
I couldnt get the gill because my card declined *pays for name change*
You can carry a person through an ult like that? So 7 people go at it and the eighth can play a fiddle? Well that's curious
Not these days, there are mechs that aren't resolvable without 8 people.
UCOB is ancient content though, different design, plus substats and food.
You can do this easily as shown by Rich Campbells clears
ucob and uwu are basically the only ones thats possible. level 70/stormblood design is pretty old and the fights get crushed by modern day gear anyway.
Tea/dsr/top(obviously) all have 8 man body checks throughout and tighter dps checks (although even dsrs dps checks are very easy with todays gear/bis, and eventually TOP will be the same)
UCoB does has a soft 8 man check in 8 towers, but you can cheese it with Tank LB3.

Wait are ultimates so easy you can clear with7 people? Or was it just that one. Maybe I need to try an ultimate….after I clear savage
Ucob and uwu definitely
For Ucob and UWU yes. It is because they are dated content designed in a different era. An era where TP existed and less body checks (TOP and DSR for example are littered with 8 man body checks). Also food and pots keep on getting better and are not synced like gear.
They are still difficult since they are ultimates and are more challenging than you average savage content. But the first two are definitely easier.
Just uwu and ucob. Yeah, if you can clear a current savage tier then with studying and a lot of available hours to wait for PFs to fill, you can clear uwu and ucob in maybe a few days each.
Yeah I don’t think I’ll try anytime soon. Party finder is way to random, I’m hardly making it to phase 2 in p8s. Thanks for the info though, maybe one day
@@Crow-wv6if o7 honestly there's nothing harder in UWU and UCOB than there is in p8s, it's just a longer fight with more to learn. Im unfamiliar with high end raiding in this game, do they have hacks that will play the game for you or give you god mode in these ultimate fights? How do they profit from doing these? I'd imagine they need a full group who also need to be payed, so how does anyone make money?
Most players don't hack, it's just the DPS check in the fight is so easy, 1 person can just afk and let others DPS it to death. Or they can also pay someone to pilot the character and beat the fight for them.
