Great stuff. Really enjoyable to watch. Such an epic journey to the Sahara on that aging yet remarkable GS. You must have pinched yourself a hundred times!
Really enjoyed watching this trip on all three channels, what a brilliantly nuts and epic adventure, hats off to you all..superb!!..ride safe lads, Mark
Oil sight glass leaking? 850's 1100's and 1150's are known for it. The 1200 has a circlip holding it in, the others rely on wishful thinking. When I replaced mine I made a holder from an ally golf pitch repairer, attached to the top fin of the oil filter housing.
What a fantastic adventure,It’s been great to watch, I wouldn’t of attempted taking any bike in to that deep sand, too much like hard work getting it out😢,
@@SidekickSolo it’s unbelievable how strong and unassuming that bike is… I kept wondering how some that have the 1250 sell and return back to it… but u have given me that reason… and it’s cleared everyone’s doubt
Thank you for sharing Merzouga!!! I have hired a guide with a camel and camped in the dunes. The Berbers are excellent people, I enjoyed them greatly. With your oil leak slowing down, should you check the transmission oil level to make sure the reason for the slowing oil leak is not from low transmission level?
You are tempting fste riding in tshirt on thst tarmac. I don't think you'll find a hospital arround there and if there is I wouldn't like to end up in a morocon hospital
If you want to ride in the sand,you better have a light bike,like dr 350 suzuki,dr 650 suzuki, xr 350 honda,xt 350 tenere yamaha,klr 650 kawasaki,xtz 660 tenere yamaha,xt 600 yamaha,xtz super tenere 750 yamaha....The bmw old gs,are very good bikes,in my opinion...
Mate this is one hell of an achievement. You should all be proud of yourselves. Living the dream that’s for sure. 👍👍👍

Congrats seems like the old GS has a few miles left in it. I think I will be keeping mine for a while yet. Good luck with the journey home.
Never doubted Old Yella.
Now you’ve got her home look forward to the debrief vid with the repairs completed.
Still plenty to come yet

What with the smooth tires on the 1150?
You really hope to stop. But realistically you have to put your hands on 🙂 enjoy your travel with good mates I wish I can do as well 😊😊
So true!
you keep checking the engine oil, but have you checked the gearbox oil??
It was definitely engine oil. Gearbox oil smells different and would be very distinctive.
Good, glad you checked.
