Oh yeah. Doesn't matter German or American, there's a sweet sound to those legendary piston pounders that's just unmatched by any jet. (And I'm a huge fan of fighter jets too)
@The Rockall Times What? Are there even any recorded cases of fighters strafing lines of refugees during the invasion of those countries? Plus, this engine type was not in service at that time.
Aside from German Civilians sometimes being “confused” as Soldiers, there hasn’t been any reported cases of refugees being slaughtered by the Luftwaffe.

6:50 Shows how hard aircraft ID is with just the naked eye at distance. Imagine trying to differentiate friend or foe in low light and/or at greater distances.
Its not the ensigns they look for at that distance, its the shape of the plane. The 109 had a recognisable fixed rear wheel right below the vertical stabilizer.

AMAZING footage!! Thank you for sharing this with us fellow Aviation enthusiasts. I would love to be able to sit in the cockpit of an FW-190 and a BF-109.. Looking forward to seeing more video's from ya. 👍👍
God bless your uncle! My great grandfather fought as a soldier for the Wehrmacht in the eastern front, he was in the 3rd company of the 196th grenadier regiment which was apart of the 2nd panzer armee, he was wounded in his arm on 9/8/1943 and received the verwundeten abzeichen in schwarz. At the time that he was wounded he was fighting in Ukraine. He was at the end a POW in French captive so his uniform is gone, he also never talked about the war.
Alter Schwede... What a great footage - 109`ers are good fast and effective universal soldiers, especially with inline 30mm Motor-Cannon, but the sturdy rough FW-190 "Butcher Bird" when equipped with 20mm Cannons, and flown by high skilled pilots, it was the nightmare for allied Bomber/Fighter pilots. This is only my opinion, and by the way, ALL Nations - russia, america, england, germany, france have create very VERY good Warplanes in their variations. Thank You for sharing this Top Video !!!
The Germans had some of the best equipment to fight with and it took a lot of cooperation to beat them. The amazing thing is they still had the Bf 109s from start to finish. Very good aircraft. Until the Spitfire and the P51 they dominated the ski.
Overrated tank of all time is more like it. When your tank can't make it to the front line to fight because of faulty mechanical issues, you might as well as invest into pillboxes for all the good they do.

Sadly there is no working bf109 F4 my favorite variant. But might you know if the beauties still got their armaments installed? I would love a demonstration on ground targets with that!

So good to see Bf 109's with the correct engines. They just don't look right with Merlins.
Yes and Sound even better
Yes. More streamlined with the DB engine/ The Merlin is good but not in a ME body
totally agree !!! ... and my friend, Luftwaffe ace Heinz Knoke would agree too if he were still with us !!!
Does the FW has the original engine to?
It sounds great i.m.o
