That looks solid to me, a must try, and love their little "food elevator" - just great. Thanks for another nice video my friend. Greetings from Phi Phi Island.... Thomas
I haven't any idea.. it's a nice cake.. but Singaporeans are just crazy.. would line up just to get a piece of it. It's well known to be a MUST GET for us while in JB
Yeeee Haarrr.. welcome to JB.. thx for sharing your trip to JB. there're lots more in JB u can try in future.. there's this Nasi Kandar Hijrah which you can try out next trip.
Wow.. local guide.. pls share more places with me.. but I’ll be so Paiseh if the prices increase becoz of popularity 😅😅😅 Just went to eat the fried oyster at Meldrum.. sooo good 😋 Malaysia still has got that old taste 👍🏼
Hi. Old school eateries like these are almost non existent in Singapore.. Malaysia is where you will still find coffee shops that been around since 50 years ago.
Piggypuggy, come here next time MUST eat the chicken Chop with the SOS Chilli Sauce. Drove in out of JB for 6 years for work, found some nice food places.
I use the Touch n Go app for most payments. Can top up online via card. I parked at hotel. Didn’t even bother to drive out. Coz nearby a grab costs RM6 😂
Even with currency advantage for Singaporean, the food is really not cheap, I could not imagine how much the locals have to spend on food. But undeniably, the eateries are exotic.
I ventured further and found that avg price for a bowl of noodles should be around RM5-6. These are probably the cafe standards. I see many local Malay families dining there.. it's like a treat for them once in a while. Or maybe they're all from KL 😂 nevertheless.. I can't imagine having a chicken chop that costs RM25.60 if I'm a local there
It took me 5 minutes until you open the menu to know it's not in Singapore 😂 Ahh the kueh, I'm always fascinated by the look of it, soft, jiggly. Will try it when I step foot in Singapore asap 😂
Soon soon.. next month isn't it? Ya mean the chui kway? Try the one at ghim Moh if you're there.. but most hawkers might have it as it's a breakfast thingy
Yes lor Mr Piggypuggy. Prices of every thing in JB has been affected by the runaway lockdown inflation. Singaporeans are depriving JB folks of their hometown favourites. Heartpain every time we want to savour something. Any way glad to see that Singaporeans enjoy coming in and enjoying the food here. Welcome welcome
Thank you for welcoming us back.. and paiseh we inflated the price 😢 My recent visit there.. most places were short of staff.. All greenhorns.. I later learnt from a owner that all the staff and chefs left.. everybody went back Singapore for much higher salary. Even the roast duck sifu also went Singapore.😅
True. Most of those places are full of Singaporeans, prices adjusted to take advantage of that. HIap Joo banana cake is a disappointed, soft but hardly any banana in like. At best it is banana flavoured cake, definitely not a good banana cake. Kam Long Curry fish head at Jalan Wong Ah Fook is terrible, despite the incessant long queue (mostly Singaporeans) and good review from (paid?) food critics. The curry paste isn't fragrant, coconut milk weak, and fish head medium size is very small, barely any meat on it. Plenty of cabbage (cheap anyway) and fried tau kee in it, no eggplants or lady fingers in it. Poor quality rice. Relatively cheap though.
Just went 6 Nov 24 Hua Mui. Everything was just very average and expensive. I had the hainan Kambing soup and it was just salty and not much mutton taste. With the prices i might as well eat in Singapore. If you examined their high review scores, many reviews looked not real and merely single review accounts to increase their score
😂 that's a really long time ago.. the cause way would be filled with cars and buses without ac. Kopi peng would probably be in glass cups.. you may like to explore JB or Penang too onbyour next visit.. I'll post a video on where I stayed. Really convenient to get around. GRAB taxis are RM6 😂 and all these eateries are next to each other
That looks solid to me, a must try, and love their little "food elevator" - just great.
