Great and thanks for covering You and Me coffee... it's one of the best coffee i can get. the lady puts in effort to make that coffee. The soy chicken is nice too.
Thanks for the lovely video! The fishball noodle stall owner is my grandfather. He’s in his mid 80’s. Before the stall moved to this hawker centre in 1975, they were at a roadside stall near the old Siglap market. The lady owners of You & Me Coffee are really inspiring too! Their coffee is superb. We are lucky to have them as our next door neighbours 😂☕️
Hello Basil 👋 Thanks for dropping by. Your Grandfather is truly inspiring ☺️.. can see loved my his loyal customers too. It’s a good idea to do a little write up of his memories and document it. If he has any photos.. even more valuable 😃 coz it’s something for our next generation to know of and appreciate what their forefathers have done for them
I think I am going to spend time here (three days of meals) next time we visit.. so many choices. And that roast meat had me looking at flights to SG. Thanks Piggypuggy
Thanks for the video. I drop in maybe once every 2 months. Mee siam from Warong Jawa is my go to. More Indian style even though Malay stall. Else, it's Wong porridge. Rarely visit other stalls, lol.
Laws will only change if people contact their government representatives. Reach out to the ministers like Edwin Tong. Maybe suggest something like a student co-op program so students appreciate the food culture in Singapore. Not sure who to reach out to for foreign helpers, but I'm sure there is someone who could look into it. Great video!
General feel is that we are better at sitting back and collecting rent rather than really trying methods to retain our hawker culture.. I’ve again and again shown in many episodes that nobody wish to carry on the torch.. so sad.. Singapore 1st world economy kinda dusted out hawker heritage. Thanks for your contribution 😊
The moment you get foreign workers to cook…it will be the end of hawker food. The price will go up and quality goes down. The foodcourt food is expensive and not authentic Singapore food.
Without wishing to offend anyone, Piggy, did you set out to create the hawker-centre porn genre or it was just something that happened as a side hussle? Oh, and have you tried this new Great Nanyang Heritage Cafe that's seems to be the new must be seen at place? It is just around the corner from where I will be staying and, as strong as my affection for old school hawker centres is, I do have try to keep up with what is of the now in Lion Town
Haha Dr. M.. interpretation of sensuality is the affection of one’s imaginative mind 😉 And what coincidence.. I just been to the cafe on its opening week.. it’s the side hustle of this Malaysian restaurenprenuer.. otherwise famous for his Andrew lobster 🦞 that I featured sometime back. Hailing from Penang.. it would be a worthy time spent at his cafe. ☕️
Last time I had it was at Hill Street.. there was 2 shops there.. both named hill street CKT.. the other one now also commands a long line at Chinatown Complex. Corner stall
There was a coffee shop previously at Block 14 near the market (double-storey shophouse row that is demolished) that had great bak chor/fishball noodles. Ah... the memories.
Bedok residents really blessed with good food everywhere

The reviews have spoken .. piggy just followed the Google review 😂🥰.. the lady Boss puts some Indian Teh Tarik men to shame

Was smiling to myself if I’d see eggie when toying with the yolk
@@Piggypuggy Unfortunately, I hate soft boiled eggs!!!

The first hawker center I ever visited. My grandma used to buy me Kway teow soup.

One small shop got 5 workers!!! Show really good profit… 😅
Was good until divided by 5 😂
That packet of roast meat combo will cost $20 aud easily.

Don't worry about the video being too long. It was a good 37 minutes of FOOD!!! LoL 😅😅
😂🤣😘
Really shiok to eat here.
Haha.. was thinking of you .. heavy rain now..
Walk safe bro 👊
The CKT is the worst CKT I hv eaten.
😂 thanks for your Brutal Honesty that might save hours of collective queueing.
The Char Kway Teow is not worth the wait. I find it quite tasteless
I read reviews too 😅
But just curious why such a long line..
Singaporeans are curious too?
白色天堂,黑色地狱
Hills street CKT overated. When the old man was there, its worth waiting. not now.
Block 18 bak Chor mee is very good.
