    I came here from the Gatemouth Brown Wikipedia page. I used to see him play in New Orleans in the 80s and 90s so grateful to see this!!!
    23:23 Gatemouth Brown clowns his way to the mic to sing “tell your ma tell your pa we’re going to integrate in Arkansas” ITS BLEEPED OUT! Still?!?!

      1966...to get aired below the "Mason Dixon Line"..edits were common;note earlier when Etta sings "see the girl with the diamond ring","she knows how to shake her thing"was edited out,but sneaks through via one of the male singers...not likely to see an unedited version of this show,it is what it is...sang James...Groundbreaking show that I never heard of,history right there.Peace

    The GREATEST show we used to watch when I was 15 years old and I so wanted to be a soul musician! This music, these people were a big part of my life. Bill "Hoss" Allen, wherever you are, may God have a special mansion in Heaven just for you and your loved ones.

    This show is a time capsule of music history in the making. ALL the artists on the show laid the groundwork for both R&B and Rock & Roll. And on top of that, Gatemouth Brown and The Beat Boys were one MEAN group of musicians!

    It's incredible to see old film footage of Clarence gate mouth Brown. He was one of the forerunners in the entire electric lead guitar style back in the 40s right after T-Bone Walker. A most essential guitar player to have in your collection of albums. The man doesn't even use a pic. 🙋

    • @heatwave425
      @heatwave425 5 років тому +1

      @@marcinpiotrkaczmarek Why did he say it or why did they mute it? This was less than 10 years after the Central High School in Little Rock had been integrated & only 2 years after the Civil Rights Act had been passed. That era of the Civil Rights movement was far from over. Arkansas and many other states were still struggling to integrate so I think that topic was very much in lots of people's minds. I think the show muted it because it would have been seen as too controversial to air it with that word in it.
