  • The diesel world has been missing a true source for real trustworthy information, that is, until now. The Diesel Masters follows the lives of the crew at Choate Engineering Performance, a machine shop that specializes in fixing diesel engines, the right way. Building them the way the original manufacturer should have. Seeing thousands of Cummins', Powerstroke's and Duramax's come through their doors a year, the crew at Choate has a unique ability to see deep into what makes these powerplants survive, or not. True diesel enthusiasts at heart, the team is consistently testing and pushing the limits of these engines through Land Speed Record attempts, never been seen before engine redesigns, and in many other out of the box ways.

    Can't wait to see more, but would be nervous to see my truck (which is in the background) to be the star of an episode. Lol😂😂

    I just picked up my 6.4 long block from your facility yesterday.
    I must say I’m really impressed with your staff and operation. I hate I missed Cass as he was out with a sick child.
    Richard in sales was very helpful throughout the process and when we pulled in the young lady at the desk was friendly and helpful.
    Ethan showed us around and ALL of the staff in the shop were cool like us gearheads like to be around. Keep doing what you are doing, it’s impressive.
    See y’all again soon.

      Yes. 6.4 ford 08 super duty As well I am using a good-quality fuel additive with some what is it. It's like octane boost is it centain? Now I met a fellow at a rock crawler event we got to talking.His big deal was the lack lube in modern diesel not having any lube. . He suggested if I don't want to replace my HP fuel pump I should use 200cc of 2stroke fuel mix to every 16 gallons of diesel as well. Anyway why not it certainly won't hurt might even work on the valves etc.. I also put a larger DIY catch can on. It's 4"X7" with 1"ID tubing in and out on the in it goes to a 90% 1/2" tub to the bottom baffled with as many 1/4" holes to disperse the CCV contaminants throughout the can. There is a 1.5-deep containment reservoir at the bottom. 2 baffle plates that have SS wool pot scrubies up to the exit port. With a 3/8" ball check drain valve on the bottom. The thing since I've been doing this about 1K miles the blow-by seems to be .5 of what it used to be. Anyone who knows the 6.4s is notorious for high Blow by from New. It is now what you could call normal. ?. The truck has 136k miles on it. It is May 07, 2024. Yes, that is low miles. 30K have been with Delets and a MinniMax set at Stock to Tow Haul. I will never race this engine. But I will give it something to pull, and a payload from time to time. With a stringent maintenance routine. Just rebuilt the trans. Started showing coffee grinds. So I thought what the. She had a hard younger life while on warranty in the cold North🇨🇦

    I have a question ? Why don't you venture into making 6.4 front covers or one that would eliminate the cavitation issue? Or has someone already came up with this?

    • @roofermarc1
      @roofermarc1 9 місяців тому +2

      I don't think you get cavitation if the cooling system stays pressurized

    • @kevinoneill41
      @kevinoneill41 2 місяці тому +1

      And use the proper diesel coolant with the Ford additive.

      We have a 6BT Cummins engine from the old commercial vehicles, that we can use as a swap. Not mine, it's from the auction.

    I’d be a ford fan too if they built me a shop like that. It’s sick how people take advantage of ford owners with diesels. You won’t see a Cummins or duramax guy loaded like that, they are like the Maytag man lol
