Yes you're right that if they're leaping out of the water like that they will be taking damsels or dragons. Am enjoying your trip, you guys are catching some great fish.
Thanks a lot for the info! Last year we were fishing rainbows in a lake in BC Canada and they jumped like that, but to get rid of lice. But I believe you that here it is due to damsel/dragons

You guys are having a great time down there! I only just noticed the handles on the flyrods are different to cork handles that I'm used to. What make are the rods you guys use? Look interesting. Cheers
Hi, and thanks for the comment! The company is called Arctic Silver Flyfishing. It’s based out of Norway. The handle is hollow, so the rod bends inside the handle. Pretty neat, and it gives the rod an unique feeling when casting and fighting. Go check it out!

We prefer the 6wt but we use the 5wt from time to time too! We like to carry two rods, and if we had two 6wt we would probably just use those

Hey! Thanks for the comment. This is one of them without scale. McLean sell them both with and without. Me and Tuva have owned at least 5 of them over the years, and the scale is most often wrong, or gets wrong over time. Therefore we use a digital weight instead
