I grew up in Skokie (the next town east of Niles). We took swimming lessons at the Leaning Tower YMCA in the 1980s. My sister and I used to walk from our house (close to Pratt Ave and Niles Center Rd) to get to class. The Leaning Tower and it's surrounding park looks *much* nicer now than it used to back in the day. It was looking a bit beat up back then. Glad to see they renovated it and the park. Sad to hear that the YMCA closed down though. Thanks for the vid!
Wonderful! awesome video 🔔
I remember seeing this from the car as a small child in the 1950s. I thought it was the real deal. I had no idea I had to go to Italy to see this. Fond memory. I am glad it hasn't been torn down like so many other amazing things in Chicagoland.
Tell me about it. They are tearing down the Rock and Roll McD's, probably already done with it today. :( This tower is still there, I still drive by it every week!
The bean is still there
Just was searching for some attractions that are in Niles that we can look at while we travel through that location, I’ll be sure to give this place a look this really is awesome looking.
Nice editing - Really nice channel :)
You have great channel. I subscribed and will be learning lot of stuff from you. I am Rishi and asked the audio question.
Hey ... love this video. I like the new format.
But, one question:
Can you climb up in the tower?
I believe that the access is only for maintenance staff. I didn't see any access for the public.
maybe I'll see you at the new Aldi.
We just just went last weekend. We had a blast at the Leaning Tower of Niles for our Family Travel Vlog. I love the history you guys gave. I just heard that YMCA just closed 😢. Great video.
That is awesome!
now on my list.
Hi there, thank you for all of this great information. I'm a new SUB, but it seems that you may no longer be posting. Are you still delivering RV's?
I am not delivering RVs at this point, there is a very very small chance I could get back into it. I am keeping the channel live, as I hope to put more videos on it when I can. I had a busy summer, and couldn't dedicate any time to travel anywhere cool and record video at the same time. I did do a little bit that I haven't been able to edit. Not a lot of interest in these videos until the last couple of days. Since there is interest, I may at least try to get that other video up, and make a bigger effort to make more. Thanks for watching and commenting! :)
Odd indeed...I live in Jersey and was visiting cousins in Illinois. We came across this by accident...they didn't know it existed either. Good vid...thumbs up from me.
Thanks :) Glad you liked it.
where the Aldi is and the Costco fuel pumps are, used to be a large Ford dealership.
I didn't know that. I am very new to this area. Thanks!

There stairs are not allowed to this tower yes
I do not think they are being truthful about the origins of this. It appears to be a left-over building from the Tartarians, like many other buildings in the US, and it is older than they are saying.
America is the Old World
Oh no not telling people to illegally park at target
