I used to do F-b-f in animate but due to time had to use the AE trick. Let AE do the work for the inbetweening for you while you just work on key key frames. Just add that posterize time cherry on top with dash of wiggle or wave distortion for that hand drawn FBF feel & u get to meet deadlines too!
Hi Manuel, super nice tutorial! congrats. I always set the frame rate in "composition settigns" instead using "Posterize Time". I´ve had some issues when precomposing using this effect. Do you believe there are many different between this two process?
Hey! Thanks very much! I don’t think there are a lot of differences. I prefer the effect or expression because it’s easier to change the frame rate. If you increase it from 8 to 12 frames for example. And for me it is easier to have 24 frames per second available to place keyframes instead of just 8 or 12. I think both methods work, it’s what works best for you.
yes However, although the position of the layer is applied well, the camera movement does not look natural. I guess I have no choice but to apply it as an effect.@@ManueldoesMotion
@@TZ-mp5wv It probably doesn't feel right if you apply it just to the camera. You might try to reduce the frame rate of all layers. Apply the posterizeTime effect to an adjustment layer on top.
What is Frame by frame animation? It's looks like a "boring linear animation" (if you like it 0:59), but not a frame by frame animation. I also dont agree with you that linear animation is "boring". Why frame by frame anim isnt boring? Maybe you ask those who actually do animation frame-by-frame? You can also increase your frame rate to 60fps and animate with key frames (automatically) or do real fbf. So what is fbf?
To be honest, I thought there would be something about paint and stick or their built-in brush, but it seems to me that ae is not intended for real frame by frame. Even Photoshop, or animate at worst, does a much better job of this. PS: This is the same as what you will call the video - “tricks of recording and reading an analog video signal”, and you will tell how to add lut and noise to footage shot on Canon 60D in Author Effects
No After Effects is not intended for frame by frame animation. It is possible to simulate frame by frame animation though. And that’s what the video is about. I explain that at the beginning.
One thing which comes to mind is - animating for web and mobile. After effects with bodymovin plugin or lottie helps you to convert these kind of frame by frame path animations into json format (lines of codes). These can be very compact and of very low file size and far better than a gif output. I don't know if any other program supports this other than figma, after effects or may be Rive.
Thanks for teaching industry-standard animations.
You’re so welcome!

Yes! 👍🏻 That’s it! It saves a lot of time.
Finally! Waited for your course for the longest time
Can you do another video on this? Like a much detailed version? I love this style
That’s a great idea!
Really appreciate your works@@ManueldoesMotion
Can you do the complex frame to frame animation video where you showed a hand animation made into a 2d animation?
@@ManueldoesMotion
This is very cool! Thank you very much
So glad u like it!
Amazing Motion Graphics Work Bro 😃😃
Thanks very much!
Dope techniques as always Manuel!
Thanks very much!
Very interested in this course! Expressions have always been a nightmare for me to understand. Can't wait to check it out!
That’s awesome!
great tutorial man keep it up!!
Thanks very much!
Really helpfull tricks. Thank you. More frame by frame tricks or a in depth course would be nice.
That's great to hear! You're welcome! I'll do more videos on that topic soon.

I enjoyed it very much.
Is there any way to give posterization time only to camera movements?
That's great to hear! Have you tried to apply the posterizeTime effect or expression to the camera properties?
yes

Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Can I ask you which is the name of the plugin or complement that alow see the shapes properties?
It's the property window. It comes with after effects. It's under the Window menu and is called "properties".
Tutorial for 2nd animation the bite in the intro
Im so broke I cant buy the expression course
0:01 anyone knows how to get thie old tv vintage voice? It sounds like from a monochrome show, which is awesome 👍
I think there are effects for that in Adobe Audition.
@@ManueldoesMotion great, I will get there. Thanks.

Can you just tell me the expression of hand particles?
It’s not just a simple expression.
how about circle light ?
You mean how to create one?
@@ManueldoesMotion yes
why do animation in afterFX if it seens so much time to make when clearly exists other softwares to do it more affordable and simple?
You mean in general? To create great animations takes a lot of time no matter which software you use. And After Effects is the industry standard.

I always love your tutorials and learn something new each time. But WHY DON"T YOU USE F9 TO EASY EASE THE KEYFRAMES?? That's... unsettling. jk
I made it a habit to right-click and to use the menu because I think it’s easier to follow if you see it. Instead of me just pressing F9.
