BUSINESS INQUIRIES - Justin@FeatureMedia.ca
Hi Justin I have been in the market for this exact laptop and very much appreciate the review. I was however wondering if it would still fit my particular needs: I am very concerned about about whether it will still maintain the same performance when I am wearing my Seiko 5 or Casio calculator watch. I noticed that you did not test it under these conditions.
Thanks in advance,
Jamie
I’d upgrade to a Rolex just to be safe
Do Victoria BC youtubers all know each other?
they may also all live in the same building lmao
I think performance dropped 20% if you didn't have a leica next to it.
Trying to see how it performs with a grand seiko 🤣
M2 Max is ridiculously expensive and not needed for most job tasks, except for AutoCAD or Pixar movie production. M1 MacBook Pro 14-inch or M2 MacBook Pro 14-inch are far less expensive and just as useful for 95% of digital arts projects. Digital arts being Front-end website development, 4k video editing, photography, DJs, and sound engineering.
Added bonus is that it is great for Java/Python/PHP development with AWS.
this was a good comment for me since i need to use autocad😂

My 2023 MacBook Pro M2 is EXCELLENT! I've had it for four months and I love it!
I bought the 16" M2 Max. I feel like it's not too big and a good fit. After looking at both the 14" and 16" at best buy, with the added battery life and features of the 16" I just don't see why you would pick at 14" with a MAX chipset. The 14" imo is more suited for the lower spec Max (30 core GPU).
Just picked up a used 2023 Macbook M3 Max 32gb 1tb for $1900! Upgraded from a 2015 model.
Bro almost dropped the MacBook mid review, love that you didn’t cut it out. Great review but I had to go with the Mac Mini M2 the moment it was out for purchase in Malaysia solely for its pricing and the fun way to pick and choose the display, keyboard and mouse; but its actually really nice to hear the positive reception surrounding the M2 Pro Max MacBook. Keep it up dude!
I got an M1 pro 14 inch unbinned with 16GB/1TB for 7k from Machines Q3 2023 from Machines at their online sale. Worth every penny
When I was mainly working from home, I opted to purchase the M1 16" Pro at that time, the base model. It was, what I thought to be, enough to support my workflow. Things have changed quite a bit from being locked up, and I have started to travel a little bit more. For work, I have a 13" M1 and for my personal photo editing and starting to dabble in video editing I got the 14" M2 MAX from the Apple Refurbished store. I should have bought the 16" with 32Gb of memory, but I didn't and now that is water under the bridge. I sold my 16" in less than 2 hours on FB marketplace, and that same afternoon I ordered the M2 MAX. The only negative part with both the 16" and 14" is the quality of the key-caps. They take on a sheen too easy and devaluate the laptop. Apple does not have an answer other than that I can opt for an external keyboard. On the other side I only heard my fans go once so far and that was with an export in DaVinci, solid laptop.
Well worth the kidney I had to sell to afford one.
Don’t be a trend slave. Don’t buy if you can’t afford or if it doesn’t give you any return (if you work doesn’t require it).
Never read such an honest comment in my life till now 😂
Understand your limitations and watch that content only. Don’t call it shit, if you can’t afford shit😂.
@@siddheshcnsn no one called it shit except you, genius. I have this laptop, 4 or 5 others, both kidneys and money to spare lol

I've had my M2 MAX 16 inch 96GB for about two months. I love it. Best computer I have ever had. Coming from a 2020 Intel Air lol.
Damn 96gb 😯
@@Soundboy817 He never will used 96gb but just in case. :)
@@valentinomc how do you know? When doing machine learning its easy to use as much as 80gb ram...
@Anthony may be one of the 0.09% of people who require 96GB of RAM. I've never heard of anyone needing so much RAM before.
@@valentinomc You can never have too much RAM. Your computer will always find a use for it. I regularly push 80gb of ram on my PC when editing multi cam 8k workflows with heavy graphics and multiple programs open in the background.
You should’ve talked more about battery life. How long it lasts in what context. That is all I was looking for… 🙇♂️
Just want to use it for music and videos editing. Also, for college homework and coding.
It looks clean an light it's beautifully made I was waiting for this to get one
Hi! Im a school student in grade 10 and just got the m2 pro 16 inch with m2 pro chip, 16gb ram, and 1tb storage... I use it for CAD software like Autodesk Fusion 360, iMovie (only using it for a few months then gonna buy fcx) and I also use it for basic note taking and research work. I haven't come into any lag anything such and highly reccoment going with 16gb ram and m2 pro as the m2 max is a bit overkill unless you use things like DaVinci
What about someone looking to dev iOS coming from a top tier windows laptop PC. I have an I9, RTX3080, 64gb of RAM and 2tb of hard storage.
I’m not entirely sure I’m seeing $5K worth of laptop being matched hardware to hardware, but I do not know Apple silicon.
I’m open minded, obviously for gaming my Windows laptop PC is the option, but for development I’m looking to Apple and want to know I’m getting my money’s worth.
1:40 wrong, M1 Max also had 400 GB/s memory bandwidth.
Nice video, but a Daytona and Royal Oak? Do you roll up to shoots in a GT3 as well? 😝😂
Has anyone noticed any drop in performance when you connect those new laptops to an external display?
My notes and excel keeps crashing………..
Excellent review, mate! If I had only 1 computer, it'd be an M1/M2 Pro MBP 14". My desktop PC (13700k & 4090) remains my main work/gaming machine, so I opted for the M2 Air. Still have my 12.9" M1 iPad Pro, but it's largely an overly expensive content consumption device... but content looks so good on that miniLED screen!
3 months later, I still cannot afford it 😆😅 my kidneys are safe! lol
Great video. I plan on upgrading over the next day. I have a few MacBooks pros but haven’t upgraded since the m1 macbook 13 inch. I’m torn on whether to go for the 16 inch M1 Max with 32 or 64gb of ram and 1 or 2Tb of storage or the m2 pro 32gb and 2Tb ssd. I have been set of the M1 Max because of the significant improvements and the incredible 700 savings currently available. Would you recommend buying the M1 Max over the pro? It still seems like a great purchase comparatively
My workflow does involve quite a bit of video, photo processing and multitasking
Wait for M3 next year.

Can u comment on the vent position underneath this machine? I find it too sharp n uncomfortable to hold due to its location on the edge which is supposed to be free like the mba m2, should put somewhere else in my pov~
Hi Justin, i know this is a year plus video, but i hope you can help me out. Im actually deciding in between 14" & 16" macbook pro. Here the thing, i saw video about 16" editing 8k footage with 32gb ram and it lag in the playback time, so my 1st question is, does it lag on your side when you are using 96 ram for your 14"? and 2nd is, does it get really hot as others clam? and should i direct aim for the 16" instead for better heat ventilation? hope you can help me out. As i do edit 4 2 2 10 bit footage & 8K footage
Hi Justin. I am a typical PC user. However I may sometimes have to use graphic intensive apps or games in the future. I plan to buy the Macbook Pro 14 inch, not the 16 inch. i am planning on getting 32 GB RAM and 1TB SSD. Price is not an issue. I want to be future proof and I am really confused about the configuration. Should I go for 10 Core M2 Pro, 12 Core M2 pro, or Base M2 Max. I really want to get the M2 Max. But I have heard that it gets heated up and It doesn't have a good thermal management and battery life compared to M2 Pro. Would you be kind enough to provide some insight.
If you play games, then pass on Macbooks. Might as well get the 2023 Asus Zenbook 14-inch OLED or Lenovo Legion Pro 7i generation 8.
Hey, Adnan, what did you get at the end? Recently i ordered the m2 max and just read the same things about the overheating and the loud fans... I can still return it (cannot try it before the 25th day of the purchase as i am living outside US though..) did you get the m2 max and what is your experience? Thanks a lot for the help
@@vaskodikov6869 I finally realized that I didn’t need that much gpu for my tasks, as its only the extra gpus you get with the max. Also battery life is lesser on max than on pro. I finally settled with Pro 12 Core.
@@adnanpasha5240 thanks a lot for your comment. I still have ~10 days to return it and i am pretty sure I dont need those gpu cores as well. Just when i was deciding I maxed out as I haven’t read the issues with the battery and overhearing back then. Waiting for a family member to bring it to me as coming from US and I found a good deal for a refurb one. I really hate myself for not getting the m2 pro as now it isn’t on the refurbished market anymore, only the max chips…. I am 100% sure i dont need 30 gpu cores. Btw do you find the m2 pro overheating or are the fans loud? How much hours you get on a battery? Thanks a lot again 🙏
Proper binging your content this weekend. I've missed it so much coz I'm so busy

Hey, I'm gonna buy MacBook Pro for Adobe Illustrator and Twitch Streaming. Which version and how much RAM should I buy?
Macbook and Galaxy book are the best laptops in the world 👍
Haha. Oh! I'm watching this 3 months after the 3-month review. I was a big confused there. Thought I travelled back in time
these reviews are empty..for me. Guess what most people can not afford the spec bumps you and most reviewers use. It’s would be great to get these bumped up spec out machines sent to us. I want to see reviews with everyday specs from people who spent their own money.
If your M2 is off and you plug in charger with lid closed. Does your computer turn on ?
How does the MacBook work with MIDI-keyboards? What about latency?
works perfect with my midi connected in logic
Great video. Would you recommend a M3 pro or max over this mainly for photoshop and Davinci resolve? If yes, is the base 36gb ram ok or should one upgrade the ram to 48 or 64? Thanks.
Go for the 48 or 64! I’m returning my 16” M3 Max 36GB because using photoshop my memory pressure is in the yellow & it’s using 5-10GB swap
The best laptop in the world, without a doubt.

Hey man ! I know that this doesn’t have to do anything with the video but that watch looks so 🔥! What brand is it ? Where did you get it ?
Rolex Daytona 116500LN
I only notice the Daytona 😎
Max chip in a 14" body is not good for heat dispersion, and will affect the performance in turn. Max in 16" is perfect.
...only if you do silly tests like benchmarking or overflowing the RAM like on Max Tech. In real life, it is rare for the MB Pro 14 top to get warm, let alone hot. People are easily sucked in by YT creators with an agenda that do tests that make no sense.
A man of computer hardware culture. You are 100% correct about maxing out the 16-inch laptop instead of the 14-inch laptop.
@@andyH_England BS. the 14 can't handle the max chip there s no point getting the max. get the 12/19 14inch or get the 16inch max. Honestly 99.9% of you will not get advantage of the max. Even I dont. The only reason I got the 16max instead of the 16pro is ue5, openGL projects and some war thunder action
@@PKperformanceEU The 14 can handle the Max but you have to be proactive in fan management. So you need to use a fan app and when you do intensive work on the MB Pro 14Max then ramp up the fans before you start the job. That will prevent the cores reaching thermal limits. Turn the fan back to normal once the job is completed.
😂 Right...decisions decisions
What Watch is he wearing? 😮
That a panda Daytona?
Please mention specs.
What camera is that next to laptop?

Does the screen reflect a lot?
So, buying M2 Max isn't a bad idea 💡
Nice 👍
Is it good for editing 4k videos??
I have the base model 14" M2 pro and it edits 4k video with ease, so I know the max probably flys through 4K footage.
Overkill for 4k video editing. A person could do that with ease on the M1 MacBook Air base model (8GB/256GB).
@@myong9ot high bitrate 4k 10 bit h265 video.
Editing 4k is not a benchmark about how powerful it is. You can edit low bitrate 4k on a i5 macbook
@@Teluric2 I never made a comment mentioning anything about power. I simply stated that it easily edits 4k video. In regards to your comment about an I5 MacBook Pro, I upgraded from a 2016 MacBook Pro and yes it does edit 4k video. Does it edit 4k video faster than my M2 Pro 14 inch ? No, it definitely does not but yes it can edit 4k.
