On the iPhone you can set it to wake on touching the screen so you don’t have to pull it out to tap the wake/sleep button. It’s in the Accessibility settings. 👍🏼
I watched a few other videos today as I was trying to install this. Got so aggravated because NO ONE showed the actual wiring. I kept thinking, why would I put this dead end clip under a plate that I'm screwing in. Didn't make ANY sense ! Look at brp install instructions and it's the same thing. I had absolutely no idea the USB was a completely seperate set up. I bought the sport model so I thought, huh, didn't come with this (I didn't know) you got the USB plug and adapter as another kit. Dude your video is right on ! I so appreciate what you've explained. I'm 6min into the video and now I know why I was so irritated earlier ! I subscribed and liked........ THANK YOU !!
That’s awesome! I’m so glad you found the video helpful. Thank you for the Like and Sub! I NEED to get back in the garage and make some more videos. Is there anything you’d like to see?
Hey! Thanks for the love! I’ve been so busy over the last year I haven’t been able to make videos. Things are coming along and more videos will be out this winter. Enjoy your new glovebox and thanks for watching!
@@jessefunkfunk1865 Yes the pigtails come with the kit. It splits the power and ground so you can also run the USB charger accessory and the heating element. The plug I connected as I was installing the box was for the heating element for the phone case. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the video. I just installed this in my mach. However, I feel like it's not getting warm to the touch. Mind you I am running the sled and maintaining a 2500 RPM. I know the power supply is good because I've tested it at both ends. Does it get just slightly warm? Or does it actually get warm to the touch when you touch the element? Thank you.
@@MBZtwins Hey! Thanks for watching! The heater element should get warm to the touch. It’s really hard to tell if it’s actually working but it does get warm enough to keep your phone from getting too cold and dying faster than normal. Hope this helps!
Looks like you also had issues plugging the phone heating element inside the glove box in (8:18), any suggestions? I’ve tried multiple times now and feel like it should be this hard to snap together
Yeah I did have an issue. I wish I could be more help but I just messed with it until all of a sudden it went together nice and easy. It was a little frustrating and when I helped a buddy with his the plug went together without any issue. Sorry!
No problem! Thanks for watching. I wanted a GPS to make sure I didn’t get lost on a trip 90 miles into the backcountry and found out that Ski Doo had this option and thought “how perfect”. For what it costs it should come with the holes in it. Matter of fact. For the 20k I spent on the sled. Shouldn’t be an add on. Thank for the good information
Great video. Just got an Expedition SE 900T and was pissed that there was no 12V or USB on it... was literally looking at the cowling in the garage tonight after my ride on how to add a 12V power supply. Think this might be a “get the dealer to add it” on my post-season tune up.
My Iphone 11proo maxx fits like a 🧤 and works perfect as a navigation system,, but I´m curious if the phone can handle the vibration and moisture ovrr time😖. I´m afraid it can mess up the camera on the phone😵. I guess it’s only one way to find it out.......
I’ve had good luck so far with it no issues at all. I’ve had it it -15F and still no issues. My phone does come out with a fair bit of moisture but with a quick wipe down it’s dry.
Very helpful instructions, thanks you. I just wasn't sure about what you meant about extending the plugs from down below - did you buy those cables separately?
Everything came with the glovebox except the usb outlet that was sold separately. All the harnesses are with the each kit. It’s a little over whelming at first but they make it pretty idiot proof. Haha As for extending the plugs your not really extending them your just using a harness that Y’s at one end to make it longer so your harness from the glove box can plug into the machine side. I hope this helps! If you have further questions feel free to comment I’m always willing to help. THANK YOU FOR WATCHING!
Sorry I’m just now seeing this. I’ll be honest I don’t have the part number for those specific parts. Hopefully you’ve figured it out by now. Good luck and thanks for watching!
@@willgoodwin2709 Thanks for the question. The one piece that has different size cut outs is used to center your phone in the holder so it doesn’t slide or bounce around while riding. The other piece is used on the backside of the holder and is only needed if your phone is very thin and you need to sandwich the phone tighter in the holder again so it doesn’t bounce around. I hope that’s clear enough. Haha
I already have a 12 V plug-in in my glove Box and I just got my extension today It came with 2 harnesses do I still need to use the other harness that don't go in the glove Box.
@@marvinkane3325 If you have this glovebox extension that has the phone holder. Then yes you will need to use the other harness. We only have one accessory plug on the machine and Ski Doo’s solution is to just daisy chain all the accessories together. I hope I answered your question.
Is that a low or Medium windshield? trying to decide what one to go with. I would like for the entire extension to be covered, but I don’t like a super tall windshield. Thank!

Yep you should get one harness with the extension and another for the USB outlet. It’s a little confusing at first but once you lay the wiring harnesses out it’s pretty easy to figure out how they connect to each other.

Pretty straight forward
is the phone charging while in that door dock position, or do you have to remove it and plug it into the glovebox usb port?
Yes you can charge the phone while it’s in the dock. There is a little slot that your charging cable fits through. It’s a perfect setup!
Can't work with case on?
If it’s a thin case it can work.
How did you route the pig tail from under the box?
It’s a real pain but there is a small gap next to the air box on the left side of the machine that leads under the glove box. I hope that makes sense.
So your phone is exposed to the elements?
No there is a plastic cover over the front of it. It's way better off in this glovebox extension than in a pocket.
@@katiemilanowski7606 thanks that would make sense. Probably a pain in the ass if you make stops and need your phone often.
