I had this extension all season, on a 2020 Renegade it’s great, love it. I agree can’t image not having now. Ordered a 22 sled and getting this installed again.
It’s perfect for long rides to and from the cabin. I never thought that the extra storage would be that big of a deal but I manage to fill that up every ride now. Haha Thanks for watching!
THANK YOU! It takes a ton of time to do and that’s why I haven’t been able to put anything out. When life slows down a little I’ll be back making full length content again.
Thanks for watching! If the Montana 700 is the one I’m thinking of I think the antenna might stick out too much. It also might be too thick but I’m not 100% sure on that. Hopefully that helps you out. Some more videos are coming in a couple weeks stay tuned. Haha
Great video. I have ordered the glove box extender and the USB power adapter as well. What are you running for a GPS program? The area where I will be sledding in has very low cell coverage and I would like to have a good GPS platform where I can use it offline. I am running an Samsung S20 Ultra 5G. Thanks for both the videos on these accessories!
Thanks for watching! I don’t know how I missed your comment so sorry for the delayed reply. I run OnX Hunt on my phone, I download all the off line maps I need for the area that I’m going and have never had an issue with not knowing where I am even with zero cell service. I also run a Garmin Inreach as a back up because I just don’t trust my phone while heartedly yet. Even though I haven’t had any issues.
Is there noticeable heat coming from the heater mat? I don't think mine is working properly because it feels cold when I touch it while the machine is running.

@David Vermilyea yes. The max pro 12 fits well in it. Tried it down to minus 18 Celsius and worked well. The only cons is that the glove box extension that comes with it doesn’t close tight enough and let snow dust in, but not in the phone compartment though.
My Iphone 11proo maxx fits like a 🧤 and works perfect as a navigation system,, but I´m curious if the phone can handle the vibration and moisture ovrr time😖. I´m afraid it can mess up the camera on the phone😵. I guess it’s only one way to find it out.......
Thanks for watching! I don’t know how I missed your comment so sorry for the delayed response. I have put about 500 miles since I’ve installed the glovebox and haven’t had any issues with my phone. Yet! I don’t want to jinx it. Haha
It does not impede at all. It has a perfect viewing angle whether you’re standing or sitting. Inside the glovebox does seem to stay slightly warmer with the warmth coming from the engine and the little bit of heat the cell phone warmer creates. THANK YOU FOR WATCHING!
It depends on what app you’re using. With the iPhone Maps app it does it automatically but some apps like OnX you have to go in to the settings and enable “pinch to rotate”. Hope this helps. If you’re asking how do I keep it on you can double tab the screen to wake it up.
It never gets “hot” but it stays warm which is kind of nice because it prevents moisture build up where your phone goes. I have yet to have any issues but the warmest I’ve ridden is about 34F or 1-2C.
@@BTHAlaska I was wondering because i could no feel any heat. But after putting the thing in the freezer, re install it, I could feel the heat. So the thing is contoled by a thermostat! Cant wait to get cold!!
@@jordanvalentin9885 There is a glovebox extension that’s meant to hold a GPS but I’m sure you could mount a phone to it. The part number is 860200707. I would recommend going to a dealer and making 100% sure it fits, 2013 was an odd year for Summits but I’m pretty sure that’s what your looking for.
Why can’t you unlock your phone when it’s in the case? You have an iPhone you should be able to tap the screen and at least use the keypad to unlock it and then just swipe.
Thank you for watching! Yes it is. I’ve left it out just incase I want to upgrade my phone later on then wouldn’t have to peal the foam off again. Sorry for the delayed response I don’t know how I missed you comment.

Will the Garmin Montana 700 fit in the glovebox extension? Great how to videos, keep giving us newbies this info. Thx Rob

Good review, thanks for posting. I’m considering getting extension for my renegade enduro. I also have iPhone 11 Pro Max.

@@RonRivet it doesn’t get hot but you should definitely feel the warmth from the heating element.
Feel free to ask any questions that come to mind and I'll answer them as quickly as possible.
Great video where did you buy the phone holder part of the extended box my expedition has the extended box but not a phone holder
@@upnorthkenny9674 Thank you! Unfortunately they are different part numbers you have 860201249 and the one with the cell phone holder is 860202072.
Can you tell me how bright the phone display is in the sun? I have a Samsung and have trouble seeing the display on brighter days.
The IPhone does very well in the daylight. I haven’t had any issues with seeing the screen at all.
Terrific, thank you.
Thank you for watching!!!
Great informal video.
Thanks !!

Is it working with otterbox case ?
I wouldn’t recommend it. It’ll push the front film out too much and it might cause it to tear.
Can you give a link to the USB charger?
Hopefully this link works.

Nice, I wonder if the 12 pro max would fit as well?
The 12 pro Max is only .2 inches bigger and there is room with my 11 pro Max so you should be fine.
@@BTHAlaska thank you. That’s on my list for tomorrow

can I used with only the deflector as windshield

I think watch more of your snowmobile videos than jeep videos now. Haha
Nice I hope to have more Jeep content this spring and summer.
Question, does it impede your vision while riding, looks like a no? Also does that extension keep warm or no?
Thanks !

Can you fit gps units in there?
Unfortunately you can’t. The space is too thin. An IPhone 14 plus size is about as large as you can fit.
do you know if the iPhone 13 pro max will fit (160mm x 78.1mm)?
Thanks for watching! Yes it does. It’s a perfect fit.
Does your xtreme have the stock low windsheild in this video?
Yes it does.

How do you know if the heating element is working
It’s hard to tell but after an hour of riding the back of the phone will be warm.
Thank you
