That is one of the more helpful videos on the subject: thanks!Quick question, how often should the baffle plate be checked on a calendrical basis? Once a fortnight, once a month? The manual (Olymberyl) just says "regularly" as does other online resources. (In my case it's usually a case of burning a mix of timber, smokeless pellets, peat briquettes and/or turf. Many thanks in advance)

Question, I've got a Stovax Riva 66 - after using it shortly today, my front baffle fell whilst in use, had to put out the burning logs as there was quite a bit of smoke. Any reason as to why the baffle would fall while being used?
We’re the baffle plate sits on the front of the fire should there be a small gap.The reason I ask is I’ve had a problem with smoke coming back into the room when I refill it.It never happened with our other fire and I’m just wondering if it’s been fit correctly?

If you put the manufacturer and model of the stove on the net you should find the right location for the baffle.
how do get them out when they are totally buckled ?
Hi we have a 6 inch liner it was very hard to fit as our chimney has a bend in it. So could we fit a 5 inch liner as ours need replacing in the next year or so yours s

Is it safe to take out that plate my stove smokes alot when u open the door there is not enough of a pull when that plate is on where it is meant to be thanks
Thanks for the question.
The baffle plate is an integral part of the workings on the stove and should always be in place when the stove is being used.
When you open the door while in use, only opening it a fraction and let the stove smoke stabilise before opening fully.
When was the stove last swept, a blocked flue will have the same affect.
If it continues l would recommend calling in an NVQ chimney sweep to check over the installation.

@@paulR505 I can’t get the plate back in. I get the things in the slots but I can’t get it up and in. It’s too heavy. Way heavier than yours. There’s no one to help and I can only hold it for a minute pushing snd shoving and then I have to let go. I need heat real bad. Hope you can help ty

How to race baffle plate in the Bay water villager stove?
I have a baffle that needs putting back in however can't get it to go in right. It has 2 Prongs on it. How does it go in?
My baffle cracked n fell down.
Don’t use and call out a chimney sweep, l would recommend an NVQ chimney sweep.
