They knew the ship was going to sink hours before it did, within that time she could have put Jack in a corset and convincing makeup and they'd both get on the lifeboats
It's ironic how everyone thinks of Leonardo DiCaprio playing Jack when the movie Titanic is mentioned, yet he is the only one who didn't get an Oscar. The movie received many Oscars but none for Leo. Even that iceberg was probably nominated before Leo.
IDK, I think she's kinda spoiled. She has a rich family and wants to commit suicide. Oh please, spare me the drama. I know people who are homeless and have absolutely nothing, yet they still want to live.
@@rainbowunicorngirl2187 6000 seconds would be 100 minutes, or an hour and 40 minutes. this video is only 10 minutes long, so 600 seconds is right because 60 x 10 = 600
What would’ve happen if Jack didn’t win the ticket 1.He would’ve never met Rose 2.Rose would’ve became more suicidal 3.Rose would jump of the titanic and freeze to death or get killed by the spinners (drowned)
I just want everybody to remember that not only did Rose jumping back onto the ship get Jack killed, but that she used a spot on the lifeboat that someone else could have taken...like....wut?
I mean, the boats were never filled anyways but she was the last person on that boat, had she not been right there some other woman could have taken that spot, so you're right.
“By the time they get back to the deck, all the lifeboats are gone, FANTASTIC. So the make a break for the stern, Rose slows them down. “Wait, wait, wait, wait” Falls down, “Jack!” Gets lost, “Jack!” Gets lost again, “Jack!” Nearly drowns again, “JACK!”” ....... 🤣
That is what basically happened since she is so ruthless and selfish and all above a bad human being to me I think it should of been her in the water and jack floating.
The famous phrase ‘never let go’ means that rose will try to live because she didn’t use to want to . Jack died for rose and rose lived for jack. It was really sad that jack died but it was the right decision in my view.

Finally someone has the same opinion with me. He's a gentleman and who knows if he would survive saving himself or sadly die giving someone else the room on the door
But her jumping back to him creates more problems because he has to keep himself from drowning and her i would have been better if they had just reunited on the carpathia ship and had a happy life and she killed jack because she couldnt move over just a little to keep him from dying of hypothermia from that freezing cold water. OMG THIS MOVIE TRIGGERS ME IT MAKES ME SO MAD

I replayed that so many times. I also laughted.so hard at "wrong choice, Damnit, and stopped them, fell down, got lost,Jack, got lost again,Jack. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Jack needed to die. He was Rose’s hero. He needed to die young & be told through legend. He also needed to be the example of how 3rd class passengers were treated on the Titanic & why so many of them died.
My mom told me when she saw this in theaters, there were these 16 year old super fans who legit thought Leonardo Decaprio died when Jack did... Bet they were surprised when he came in for his next movie
Well Titanic was the first time I was with my buddy and our "girfriends" out in the cinema. We where 13 at that time and cheered and clapped, when stupid Leonardo sunk into the ocean. The girls where not amused...well stupid bi**ches...
When Jack died, I actually didn't cry because I was expecting it. When that elderly couple are dying in bed and when that mother is tucking her kids into bed.... breaks me every time:(
@@letshuman8985 Ida & Isidor Strauss were the ones laying in bed. Based on a true story. Contrary to Jack & Rose. Also, the mother telling her kids a bedtime story was probably something that happened as well. Concerning there were many mothers and kids in 3rd and 2nd class that did *not* make it out alive. Interesting fact, the actress playing the Irish mother telling the story about Tear Na Nog was also in Cameron's Aliens movie.
@@victorsamsung2921 One minor correction, ALL 24 of the children from 2nd Class survived (and by extension their mothers), the only demographic that had a 100% survival rate. Lorraine Allison was the only 1st Class child to die.
Correct. Jack loses the game of poker-->Sven becomes a millionaire in the States, White Star buys Cunard, Rose marries Fabrizio, Cal still shoots himself.
Yeh your right but there is a another way if the controllers is just conscentrating in the ocean and even if a person is kissing so if theyre litearally conrating in their bussines then they could have told the capatain to saild away from the ice burg then that wont happen 🤦🏼♀️
Actually, Jack says "I figured life's a gift and I don't intend on wasting it". The point of the movie was to show viewers how short life is, anything can happen at any time. If Jack didn't die, the movie wouldn't have had the same effect. He was there to teach Rose love and life.
Nicole Ramoutar thank you! Finally someone who understands. Just because jack could fit on the door doesn’t mean it would have made a good ending. They had to let jack die because it creates more of emotional connection the characters. If they both would have survive the movie wouldn’t have the same impact. So like I said just because jack could have fit on the door doesn’t meant it would have made a good ending!
The movie would've been pointless if they both survived. He wanted Rose to be alright and he got really mad when Rose couldn't get to safety, he always took her before himself and saved her. Even if they hadn't known each other for long, they truly loved each other. I love the ending, when Rose dies and her soul is finally reunited with her long lost love, Jack.
Nicole Ramoutar no it wasn’t. It’s not every die a ship sink. Of course people would die bc of that, but not all. The point of the movie is to recreate the Titanic tragedy and show people how it must be like to be on the ship and how awful it was in the time after it hitting the iceberg.
It makes me sad because with Rose's status I think he might have been allowed to get onto a life boat with her. They bump into the ship's architect Thomas Andrews together at one point; I kind of imagine that he would have had the social status to get all three of them to safety and onto a life boat together, had Rose only insisted. That was one solution
Excellent point! Never had thought of it that way. But I guess even Thomas Andrews couldn't make special arrangements anymore, concerning the building panic and chaos at that point.
Mr Andrews probably thought that as everyone wasn't able to survive the sinking, the ship designer couldn't take the lifeboat. Much like Captain Smith.
nadia nazari but who would have told the story then if Rose died too? Rose and Jack are just fictional characters, they weren’t real, but Rose represent those who survived but lost their loved ones and Jack represent those who died with the ship, it’s simple and it worked out really well in my opinion
Imagine if he had lived... and they both would have went to new york together.. she would have became an actress like she did.and being into art as much as she was.. she would have inspired jack to become a even greater artist..i know theyre not real people but its heartwrenching all the same... RIP to everyone who was lost..
@@anitaremenarova6662 i get what your saying but rose saw how the dads was saying goodbye to their children and wives and she thought that was the last chance she would get to see jack, by there are only a few boats and they are letting women and children in first out of 2200 (or more) people on it, on top of the fact that people are panicking.
Why wouldn't a fictional character like Jack Dawson love that idea of being kept alive? Perhaps DiCaprio has always been a bit of sour about that with Cameron.
2:38 - 3:00HAD BE CRYING IN TEARS OF LAUGHTER NO JOKE “rose slow them down, falls down, gets lost, gets lost again, nearly drowned again and and in every single case jack saves the day” Yeah no kidding

People fail to realize when Jack was handcuffed to the pole his feet were already in the cold water along time till rose got him out. He was already having hypothermia issues before rose un cuffed jack. 🤔 . Very surprised people dont know this. It is even more obvious when they are on the top of the stern with the cheif with whiskey. When jack is hugging rose and they about to go into the water his shaking isnt the fear of the water it is the shaking from hypothermia. I imagine this is an eye opener for many.
Even in that situation, I would see it as obvious that running back to my boyfriend would drastically decrease his chances of survival. Also, now there is an empty space on the lifeboat which is super selfish.
Yes there are many ways Jack could have stayed alive but you’re missing the point. Jack HAD to die because it was the point of the movie. Titanic was a tragedy where hundreds of people died and lost their loved ones, so it doesn’t seem right to end such a tragedy with a good ending, it doesn’t make sense. Jack represents all the people who died that night, and rose represents all the people who had to lose their loved ones. If Jack hadn’t died you would miss the whole point and we wouldn’t realize how much that night impacted people.
Yes this is true... But I even think... That jack had all possible ways to live. Like that only, jack was a great human being and he had to suffer a great for rose. As at last, he was blamed he stole the blue diamond from rose but actually not. And for that also he was trapped in a room and they all tortured him. Even they beat him.... Not so much but whatever... But rose didn't trust him. So, it's rose also who is blamed.... But whatever happened nothing can be done
I agree, and also one of the main messages from the movie was to live life to the fullest, cos you never no whats going to happen and you should make each day count. It changes rose to be more adventurous and it shows this when old rose goes to bed and we see all of the pictures of all of the adventures shes been on.xx
Well, I had thought the same thing as well, but considering how much Cal HATES Jack, he might've taken the advantage of being alone with him, to hurt him, or worse, kill him. I mean, he did almost try and kill Rose and Jack the scene after, but it could've happened. I do think that Rose wasn't being particularly selfish, she just wanted to make sure her love was okay, but that jump could've costed her life, but it costed Jack's.
Jack didn't die. When he drowned, he was frozen for almost a century, and was washed up on a beach. When he woke up, he gained the ability to enter people's dreams, and used this ability to perform the world's most perfect crime.
what people don't realise, if rose got on the lifeboat, Jack may not have been able to get the door because other passengers may have grabbed it, it just depends on where Jack was when the ship sunk .
Isabella Bedford but wouldnt he think of his self nxt after rose just got on the life boat? so he could also find that door himself or he can find another object to stay on. right?
Hanna Banana me too! i always look up actors whose characters die in movies or tv shows to make sure they’re alive in real life. that makes me feel better
My name is Jack. I'm staying away from any roses I find. Edit: I come back to this comment like a year later and I notice all these likes. What did I miss?
Yes, Jack may have been a lot more likely to have lived if Rose had just stayed on the boat. But she knew darn well that there was no boat for him to catch and no way or means for him to save himself with or without her.
Well, considering the circumstances of the storyline, he wasn't a registered passenger on the ship and boarded using another person's ticket, so yeah, there wouldn't be any record of him on the Titanic.
He drew her naked and fucked her in a old antique car in storage. What a movie. Lies deception affairs softcore porn on something that didnt even happen.
people have to realize real life people suffered and lost their loved ones and family. Jack dying represents the amount of sorrow they had. The real life story has no happy ending.
@@waynicliz Genghis khan out here rolling on the floor laughing. Spanish flu and the Black Plague both acting confused that corona thinks it comes anywhere close.
It's honestly very simple. People argued that there was enough room for Jack but then others said if they where both on it'd tilt/sink. WRONG! This is where I introduce you to {b a l a n c e}. You see you put Rose on one end and Jack on the other to balance out the door so it doesn't tilt and sink down. Their weight on either end would keep it flat and stable. Of course it probably would've went under but only by centimeters. Then just rub each other's arms to keep warm till rescue came. The only reason why the door tilted the first time they tried to get on was bc they BOTH got on at the same time and on one side of course it's gonna freaking tilt. Y'all should've tried it more times than one and say "welp we failed won't work again I'll just freeze my ass off" But no. We'll just have Jack hang on the side IN the water, that stunt right there sealed his fate and they knew it, we knew it, ROSE DEFINITELY KNEW IT (I HOPE SO!?) I'm mad. Thanks for listening to my tedtalk.
Your Tedtalk lacks logic. I agree that the door would stay stable if both lay on either sides. But have you thought about how they both are gonna get on it in the first place? Let's suppose Rose moves to one side to let Jack get on, but the door is on water. If she moves further, the centre of gravity would shift and the door would flip over. Also don't forget the fact that the water was freezing cold and they were probably exhausted escaping a sinking ship. So "try a couple more times" doesn't work here.
thats what i said to myself whilst quietly cussing at rose for the irrational whimpering, though i do have to say she was in shock and when in shock the mind tends to go haywire. But also that logic should’ve still been there regardless. So with that being said Rose clearly didn’t have any Logic or Commonsense since all she thought about was living in LaLa Land with Jack. Blind love. It kills. Litrally.
Or don’t you think they could have switched off, like jack will be in the water and then rose on the door and then rose in the water and jack on the door. Like I get the whole romance thing and how he’d do anything even die for her but wouldn’t u wanna grow old with her or at least have that possibility. They could’ve did that. It’s one of the smarter ideas🤷🏾♀️
I can imagine how Jack being on that door by himself would've worked out. In the movie, people were fighting over the smallest things to stay afloat. Jack would've gotten swamped for sure, just like if the lifeboats had come back too soon. Let's face it, Jack's chances were slim, one way or another.
Actually the script demanded jack to die. The purpose of jack in the story of Titanic was to give rose the reason to love. In the end, that's the only time when rose clung on to life when she had promised to go on to jack..before that she didnt really care about her life. So here rose was the main character and jack's character was there to make her want to live. I know it's pretty sad but that's wht the fictional storyline was all about.
If he had lived, she could have survived not only FOR him but ultimately WITH him. His request that she avoid dying wasn't any more valid because of his death, and she CERTAINLY would still not have offed herself if he were alive with her...
Well..when somebody dies their request or wish becomes even more important specially when u love them. What u are saying is true but i just told you the fact in relation to the technicality of the script and the story. This is what the story was about. The essence of it. So jack had to die.
It was a heart breaking story even when I first heard it really happened my heart broke for those people. If I were with Jack and Rose I would have gotten them to flip over one of the boats that had fallen and maybe take that one while no one was looking. I still love the movie but you know. STILL heart broken she had to lose Jack he gave her hope
Jack had to die. Jack was the missing piece in Rose’s life that helped her become who she was truly meant to be. He was like a stepping stone or a ladder helping her reach the top. When jack died she left behind Rose from titanic and became Rose Dawson her true self. Without jack, she would have never realised the true possibilities and continued suffering in a isolating marriage. Plus all the promises they made together Rose fulfilled them by being independent and doing them on her own without Jack. This shows she became stronger, more confident and saw the true meaning of life❤️
_" and continued suffering in a isolating marriage."_ You mean a cold-hearted marriage and made braindead by all the endless charades and chit-chatter. The same narrow-minded people. Rose made all her promises come true by staying *true* to herself. You know, like going to Santa Monica Pier and ride the horse, become an actress and end up with someone she would spent the rest of her life with in full joy and meaning, including having a lovely granddaughter in the name of Lizzie. Rose was her own and she found her match, but by embracing her true feminine strengths and qualities.
JoeShmoe120 - Gameplay and Commentary yes he did the movie is based off of what actually happened between jack and rose he wouldn’t of survived either way because roses ex fiancé was going to shoot him because there wasn’t any more 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦 boats left
Daylight 4499 if u watch the movie rose got on the door and when he tried to get on it tipped them over almost so even if there was enough room it would of tipped the characters jack and rose are based off of actual people
The audience had to feel the weight of all the deaths that occurred on the Titanic, and Jack represented that. Also, if Jack and Rose had both survived, it would have romanticised a real life tragedy
Also, if Rose had stayed in the lifeboat, Cal would have know Rose was still alive and then would marry her, meaning Rose had to go back to her old life again. Meanwhile, If Jack survived, it would be likely that Cal would have arrested Jack for the framed stealing of the diamond
@@margaretgarside5617 Talk about your Mr. Andrews indeed .... I mean, it was so heartbreaking to see the responsbility he felt for *not* building Titanic strong enough and to have enough lifeboats to save everyone on board. The enormous amount of guilt and pressure on his shoulders must have been huge back in 1912. Above all, no one ever said a wrong thing about the real Thomas Andrews as well. Concerning his kindness, hospitality and big heart. Meaning, the way Victor Garber depicted Mr. Andrews in the movie, including giving the lifejacket to the fictional character of Rose to save herself, was something he would have done in reality in 1912.
@@ughasif7908 _"Also, if Jack and Rose had both survived, it would have romanticised a real life tragedy"_ That would have been of *no* concern, because, neither Jack *nor* Rose ever existed or were on Titanic in 1912 for that matter. This is why women love this movie, and men not so much. It's maddening. To continue the argument, Rose was enamoured with his carefree attitude....how long would that have lasted once they got to NY and she experienced being poor in reality? I'm talking about in reality, not in a romantic chick-flick.
she went to NY without anyone and anything. She did survive alone and started from the bottom. She didnt sell Cal's necklace to help her financially, cause she wanted to prove she can live on her own, and she died at age 101. So she did a pretty good job surviving then!
I was seven when I saw this movie. I hated it. I hated Rose. So 'Women' loving this movie? No. Some do. I in fact think it's bullshit and Rose is a dumb bitch.

i like this movie because it has a strong hero in it: jack. at the same time, i think rose's character was poorly developed and all her appeal comes from the talent of kate winslet. i still like the movie, but not for the nonsense melodrama. it's still quite an epic story albeit with some glaring flaws.

I wonder how leonardo DiCaprio didn't get nominated for the Oscars, he did soooooooooooo good and was the main character because without him the story would be very incomplete...i feel soo bad for him he totally spdeserved it...❤❤❤❤❤❤
Probably, because, Jack & Rose was an old story ... concerning Romeo & Julia. They weren't playing revolutionary or groundbreaking roles. Not good enough for the Academy's that is. I know it's silly, but HoLLyWoOd and pRoGrEsSiVeS are a weird combo.
It turns out, and scientifically proven on Mythbusters if Rose had been less busy crying and more busy thinking, she could have tied her life jacket to the bottom of the plank and kept them both afloat.
the girl who played Juliet with Dicapro in that other movie was actually considered for Rose in Titanic think of the memes there would be had she been chosen lol
Do you know how both Jack and everybody else could've survived? By having the actual crew trained and having more Lifeboats. Literally, there was an actually document saying how untrained the crew was.
Facts. The incompetence of everybody on the ship was too hilarious to believe it's real. From agreeing to speed up the ship in Iceberg infested waters, to not having having enough life boats, to not listening to Iceberg warnings from a near by ships radio signals. To not having mature watchman with better telescopes 😂 ect. The list goes on
The incompetence of the crew and the captains decisions are the main cause for the titanic sinking. The captain changing the crew at the last moment before voyage, none of the crew having access to binoculars, no lifeboat test was carried out prior to the voyage (and there were only 16 of the damn things), the captain deciding to go full speed in a known iceberg area despite all the warnings they received. The list goes on but had some of these terrible decisions not been made they could have saved more lives that night
They didn't have many lifeboats because they thought the boat was unsinkable. They only needed enough boats to go back and forth getting people from the titanic onto another ship. They had more than enough in their mind
The thing is, the crew were told the ship was "The Unsinkable" so why would anyone need training when they were told nothing bad at all would happen? And if by the smallest chance that something were to happen, there'd be lifeboats right? A whole 20 lifeboats for 2,000+ people. The ship was just jinxed before it even went to sea. The sad thing is, the ship was originally going to have about 60 lifeboats attached which would've ensured nobody would die if something happened, but they wanted the rich passengers to have a good view of the vast nothingness of the ocean so they got rid of more than half of the lifeboats.
To be fair; Rose is 17.. come on now! Also, considering Jack was a third class male passenger, its unlikely he would have survived anyway. The very chain of events that led him to get on that door involves being with Rose. Actually, if not for Rose, he would have most likely been with his buddy Fabrizzio who ends up being squashed by the ship's funnel.
Nope, he would not have been accused of stealing, and would have been hiding, and never got caught. Going to the top of the ship was also his decision. Also remember, even if he did not find that door to float on after the ship had sunk, rose was away on the lifeboats, which increased his chances of survival. Let me explain. When you watch the movie, towards the end, the women in the lifeboats convince everyone to return to the drowning people as there was a lot of space on the boats. If rose had been on the lifeboats, as she is quite stubborn, would have made the lifeboats return a lot sooner, and so jack would have survived even if he did not find a door to float on.
I completely agree, and that is what they did in the movies, and were able to save very few people. Had rose been on the boats, then they would have come a little earlier, and jack would also have had a higher chance of survival on the plank. Dana Shea
Yes, but that was only in terms of getting a seat on a life boat. Are you saying that he would not have survived if it had been him on the wooden piece alone, just because he was a third class passenger? BadgerCheese94
Saurav Raj He may have not found the wooden piece at all, he may have slid down the deck of the ship, he may have been crushed by a plume of water, he may have fallen off the stern. There's a lot of factors to consider. Only a handful of people who were on the ship til the last second, ended up surviving at all. The fact Jack and Rose found that large wooden board was pure luck. Most of the debris was only large enough to help one float. The door was big enough for Rose to lay on with most of her body above the water. Its unlikely he would have found that same door.
Actually it was a long time ago and the constructed of the ship was very stupid they put less life boats then they were supposed to to fit everyone. They were going at a fast speed cause they were running late.and when people were getting on the boats the boats were for 50 people and some boats had 20 or less . And btw some scientist think the part of the ship was burning for weeks and when the iceberg hit it destroyed it
Having a happy ending to a movie about a disaster where 1500 people died is a little redundant, I think the director wanted to show the tragedy people went through losing loved ones. Just a thought.
the director puts us in the current time.... looking for the wreck and then we are taken back in time.... this is also the technique in Saving Private Ryan.... that is very necessary. extremely necessary in both movies. the woman is quite old.... Ryan is quite old... both movies involve having children... having had a good life.... promise me.. the captain [Tom Hanks] would very well have been dead of old age... and other thoughts... a meaningful life WAS gained or saved... yes.. but there is much much more..... hit all the buttons.. there are more... and you have a VERY powerful movie... both of these movies, yes? ...in this movie Jack is not always portrayed as 100% a great good and moral guy... right? if I remember...yes? and in Ryan the captain's hand will stop shaking.. won't it... little things like that are there for a reason..... very important.. in Titanic... by Jack not getting on the board with the woman.. and staying with her and keeping her alive and desire to live.. and having her make a promise to her dying lover..... and then he dies.... she must keep the promise......... plus... knowing many people died then as well and seeing that in the film....... we have the Exception to the Death of a Audience Surrogate met 100%. The Fury... Brad Pitt doe snot get the girl... the young guy... who does.. exactly matches the Brad Pitt character.. has to be told to shoot etc.... and in the Tank scene when Brad Pitt dies.... that leaves a body for the Germans to find... we hover over the tank as if we died... and then immediately see the morphed-to surrogate declared a hero.... aha, he is... us (the surrogate) and even if Brad Pitt's character is also a "twin surrogate" (he has quirks.... is not 100% a great good guy... yes?).. his death saves the younger guy. not much different from..... this scene. same The Killers (1964)..... the last episode of The Sopranos plays all the way up to the edge..... but you don't ever know it 100%..... same with the Greatest Story Ever Told..... and same same with "Climate Change"... why it is almost impossible to accept.... or is.... the Audience Surrogate can never be seen to be killed... except by old age... and if he or she is then his or her death must have a big enough of a meaning to make their death acceptable. in the Greatest Story Ever... there couldn't possibly be a bigger meaning.... saving everyone we have ever loved or even known from hell.... there has never been a movie, play, story, fiction book where an Audience Surrogate is seen to prematurely dies (is killed) without a meaningful death... I have to add the word "seen" because the Soprano writers walked us up to the edge very very good in the last episode of The Sopranos.... but a narrative where not only the AS dies... for no meaningful reason... but on top of that... the whole audience dies... by it's own hands... is impossible to accept. thus we have gone from 1975.... all the way to 2015.. doing the opposite of what we should have.... when by midyear of 2015 (NASA Goddard etc.) it was obvious we passed the Co2 threshold.... if we lock in CH4 next...... and 2015 you didn't need to use quantitative methods (stats) to weed out what was going on. one exception is an old black and white The Night of The Dead but in that movie there is almost no surrogate.... the black guy for instance is not 100% a good guy... he is introduced late in the movie.... an AS is always shown early on at some point in the first few scenes so you can choose him or her.... unconsciously..... and he is black. read Sapolsky's Behave [2017] or other literature to discover how that might work..... but that Is as close as we ever get... if you accept that someone had to be an AS in that movie.... but if you watch it... do you see anyone you would see yourself as? this is also why Cry The Beloved Country.. required reading in New York State I believe when I was a kid... is quite a read... all of these playing around with the Death of a Audience Surrogate are very powerful stuff... in Cry The beloved Country you ARE a black man. which is cool, yes? yes.and Climate Change.... oh yeah. that's why.... plus "We are Not Animals".. we are Special.... Genesis verse 26...... and there are no narratives possible... technology will save us (Man's technology or God Given technology).... like in a movie, book.......................
Funny how the one who "WROTE" the story told it and everyone went "No you told it wrong!" To me that is dam good story telling. Not one film has that impact on people like the ending of TITANIC did.
So basically Rose should’ve stayed on the lifeboat so then jack would get the board then they would be reunited on the Carpathia. I just saved you 10:00. You’re welcome.
No but then in the end Jack has to die anyway cause it would represent the Titanic. If he survived then it wouldn’t send the same message of the sinking. The Titanic’s sinking ends in tragedy in real life, and Jack has to die to represent it.
I’m defence of rose, the shock of losing jack after she realises she loves him more than cal, she didn’t want to leave him, and be responsible for a possible death. Of course, Rose should have been a bit more trustworthy of jack and his judgement, but she, like many others on that ship, was petrified enough to lose him. After being slightly traumatised by Cals minor abuse, and being disowned/not accepted by her mother, she’s going to feel that way! Especially as she tried to commit a few nights before. Personally, I do think that they could’ve BOTH fit on that door (idk if it’s a door - maybe just a wall frame or something). I mean, if they’d enough buoyancy to hold each other, they would’ve survived! But back in 1912, and on a sinking ship, they’re not going to think about that! Remember, people didn’t always have the best education back then - even thought jacks survival skills are IMMACULATE! The solution to this could’ve been solved if rose had maybe put her life jacket underneath the floating thingy, and possibly the physics might line up, or in other words they’d have both fit on it without it sinking / one of them dying.
What is overlooked is the fact that being in near freezing water, the skeletal muscle will fail. She got on the door, but by the time he was able to climb on the door he could not be caused of the freezing water.
They knew the ship was going to sink hours before it did, within that time she could have put Jack in a corset and convincing makeup and they'd both get on the lifeboats

@@mw1838 what if Kal killed him?
@@saturn6563 Well, cal was going to get on a boat.
@@mw1838 cal was actually planning on killing jack as soon as rose left
The point of the movie is to recreate the Titanic tragedy and show people how it must be like to be on the ship and how awful it was in the time after it hitting the iceberg.
iconic what do you mean, Rose didn’t die.
Emma Mosekjær exactlyyy

I do think that Rose wasn't being particularly selfish, she just wanted to make sure her love was okay, but that jump could've costed her life, but it costed Jack's.

what people don't realise, if rose got on the lifeboat, Jack may not have been able to get the door because other passengers may have grabbed it, it just depends on where Jack was when the ship sunk .

I love how in the film Rose says "I will never let go" to Jack and then immediately let's go.
eli eli :D she means she won’t let go of him in her heart. who in their right mind would carry a dead body around with them
a woman who would jump off the lifeboat to die with her lover...her actions before and after were kinda confusing tbh..
eli eli :D what is she supposed to do? Leave him there frozen?? Or take his frozen body onto the lifeboat??
I know funny
I will never let go of my comments in the first place and the promise was that she was about the Titanic sinking
"as a result, romeo dies" do I sense a pun?
(Leonardo DiCaprio played Romeo in Romeo and Juliet)
I’m glad someone else caught onto that!!
LiterallyMSP must’ve been a coincidence
@@brandonbutchart5576 yeah but a good one lol
Omg everyone watched that movie in ninth grade
Bruh its the easiest thing to get, that was my first reaction to when he said that
Actually the script demanded jack to die.
Exactly!!
Rishil
Jack:so how did you find out it wasn't me?
Rose:I didn't I just remembered I knew you didn't
Are u kidding me? 😠
lucario gamer she said she realized not remembered
she said:"I just realized I already knew"
I need me one jack dawson please.

I need a Leo in my life.
Jack risked his life to save rose.that's takes a man to do that. Love can make you do crazy things
Tysce Sayles but rose .............NOPE
JoeShmoe120 - Gameplay and Commentary it’s true he didn’t but he let rose live so she can live her life
Daylight 4499 if u watch the movie rose got on the door and when he tried to get on it tipped them over almost so even if there was enough room it would of tipped the characters jack and rose are based off of actual people
Tysce Sayles yeah so that the woman goes to fuck with some other rich guy the next week
Yeah, because the audience would never feel any empathy for real people who actually died on that ship.
Their characters and their lovestory was and remains fake/fictional to this day.
Yes, Jack could have made it out and likely even has when you read the signs, but him and Rose surviving would have not overshadowed a real-life tragedy. It would have brought hope instead. Concerning starting from scratch and choosing love over material wealth as the source of all being.
She would have dumped him in a week. @@victorsamsung2921
This whole video makes Rose look bad😂😂😂😂
isn't that the point?
Mohammed Khan it’s showing how she was actually a bad person and a hypocrite
@@moelester7600 True, but when you watch the movie it doesn't feel that way
Ye
Mohammed Khan it may not feel that way but when you look at it it makes sense
This is why women love this movie, and men not so much. It's maddening. To continue the argument, Rose was enamoured with his carefree attitude....how long would that have lasted once they got to NY and she experienced being poor in reality? I'm talking about in reality, not in a romantic chick-flick.
she went to NY without anyone and anything. She did survive alone and started from the bottom. She didnt sell Cal's necklace to help her financially, cause she wanted to prove she can live on her own, and she died at age 101. So she did a pretty good job surviving then!
You realize this is actually a fictional character? Yes, it is loosely based on one person, but saying loosely is really too strong of a description.
I was seven when I saw this movie. I hated it. I hated Rose. So 'Women' loving this movie? No. Some do. I in fact think it's bullshit and Rose is a dumb bitch.
Crow Rat , you are a woman the person who originally stated the comment didn’t mean you it’s not bullshit if you don’t fall under a general category you are a woman but generally this person is saying woman love this film
i like this movie because it has a strong hero in it: jack. at the same time, i think rose's character was poorly developed and all her appeal comes from the talent of kate winslet.
i still like the movie, but not for the nonsense melodrama. it's still quite an epic story albeit with some glaring flaws.
A young woman full of internal conflict acted irrationally. Well at least that part of the story was 100% realistic.
Yeah, even I think it made sense in terms of her character. Though, there are some dumbass moments I felt she should have been above.
Mike Prestwich Well she's a 17 year old. And everyone's an idiot at 17 lol

True
Oscars don't mean shit.
He was literally upset about Oscar at that time, he wasn't even nominated for best actor. Kate was nominated instead, although she didn't win.
Probably, because, Jack & Rose was an old story ... concerning Romeo & Julia. They weren't playing revolutionary or groundbreaking roles. Not good enough for the Academy's that is. I know it's silly, but HoLLyWoOd and pRoGrEsSiVeS are a weird combo.
guy “wrong”
rose: “damit”
It turns out, and scientifically proven on Mythbusters if Rose had been less busy crying and more busy thinking, she could have tied her life jacket to the bottom of the plank and kept them both afloat.
Jack dies because of Rose
Romeo died because of Juliet

Do you know how both Jack and everybody else could've survived? By having the actual crew trained and having more Lifeboats. Literally, there was an actually document saying how untrained the crew was.
Facts. The incompetence of everybody on the ship was too hilarious to believe it's real. From agreeing to speed up the ship in Iceberg infested waters, to not having having enough life boats, to not listening to Iceberg warnings from a near by ships radio signals. To not having mature watchman with better telescopes 😂 ect. The list goes on
@@dn8443 I’m pretty sure those were the best telescopes back then.
Dana Shea
Saurav Raj
He was a 3rd class male passenger... dude. His chances were already low.
Yes, but that was only in terms of getting a seat on a life boat. Are you saying that he would not have survived if it had been him on the wooden piece alone, just because he was a third class passenger?
BadgerCheese94
Saurav Raj
He may have not found the wooden piece at all, he may have slid down the deck of the ship, he may have been crushed by a plume of water, he may have fallen off the stern.
Bruh, this whole movie is a joke. All they had to do was apply flex seal
When the ship crashed into the iceberg I was like "that's a lot of damage".
Jesus Christ you’re right. What were they thinking?
Actually it was a long time ago and the constructed of the ship was very stupid they put less life boats then they were supposed to to fit everyone. They were going at a fast speed cause they were running late.and when people were getting on the boats the boats were for 50 people and some boats had 20 or less . And btw some scientist think the part of the ship was burning for weeks and when the iceberg hit it destroyed it
Kurt Cobain scientist think the ship had a fire that was burning for weeks and when the iceberg hit it just destroyed a big part
I SAWED THIS BOAT IN HALF!! 😈
Having a happy ending to a movie about a disaster where 1500 people died is a little redundant, I think the director wanted to show the tragedy people went through losing loved ones. Just a thought.
Thats the point
Thank you for being like THE ONLY one who actually gets why!
the director puts us in the current time.... looking for the wreck and then we are taken back in time.... this is also the technique in Saving Private Ryan.... that is very necessary. extremely necessary in both movies. the woman is quite old....
Exactly. It’s a tragedy. Someone’s going to die, that’s the whole point of the film.
+Steven Stoffers More dots than the cuts on my wrist.
Funny how the one who "WROTE" the story told it and everyone went "No you told it wrong!"
To me that is dam good story telling. Not one film has that impact on people like the ending of TITANIC did.
Wait roses fiancé would probably have killed jack after rose went out of sight
Nah he had plot armor
So basically Rose should’ve stayed on the lifeboat so then jack would get the board then they would be reunited on the Carpathia. I just saved you 10:00. You’re welcome.
It's so dark, I'm sorry
The door
No cause cal wouldn’t have let jack survive
No but then in the end Jack has to die anyway cause it would represent the Titanic. If he survived then it wouldn’t send the same message of the sinking. The Titanic’s sinking ends in tragedy in real life, and Jack has to die to represent it.
i think he became jack frost

BOTTOM TEXT
Yep totally
I'm going with this.
This is legit a video roasting rose (whoops)
