I remember sports. They were cool.
greg d lol
go team!
Back in the good old days.
I remember watching this game in 1634
@@cal6957 dude this game was obviously in 1633...pfft shows how much you know
Was at the game. My first Blue Jays game in 26 years! What a great comeback. Sad to see all those fans leave the game during the 7th inning when the Jays were down 8-2, only to miss the best 9th inning comeback in Jays history. IT AIN'T OVER TILL IT"S OVER!!!!!
Actually, it was a Steve Pearce walk-off grand slam vs the Angels. He hit 2 walk-off grand slams in that week. I was at the Angels game to witness it and about half of the people left in the 8th inning only to miss the comeback.
@A K D Okie
The Rays stole this choke from the Texas Rangers
It's been over since at least July, so can't hate on the fans for leaving lol.
This franchise is a joke, and will continue to be a joke unless the MLB makes serious changes to their playoff method.
Ryan S, and cause of management
One thing I’ve always loved about baseball is there is no time limit. There is always hope, always a chance. And you get moments like this....
Drew Ferrandini couldn’t have said it better
That's why the pitch clock will never work.
That’s why it’s the best
Rob Manfred has entered the chat
She replies
The forty five dislikes are the Ray’s manager and his back up 44 accounts
I think he got another back up account
LOL🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well clearly they’re not 44 Rays fans because the Rays don’t have at least 44 fans.
@@TheY2AProblem Dang, you beat me to it! LOL!
Gary Cotie hahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahaha
Even in a crap season, you have moments. We'll take em.
never leave a game early
Was at the game. Stayed to the end. Sad to see so many 'fans' leave after the 7th inning. It ain't over till it's over!
@@GuitarLessonsBobbyCrispy some people come from out of town and need to go to work the next day
Zeeb Beeb Oh yeh I'm on holidays this week lol.
Guitar Lessons BobbyCrispy Most people leave because it’s a long drive, and most people will take the subway to highway 407 station and go straight home.
but most people will stay if their team is winning
Damn, not even a Blue Jays fan, but man that made me smile.

The guy sitting to the right of Rays Manager Kevin Cash is none other than Charlie Montoyo, who is now Toronto's Manager.
Charlie Montoyo is my friends dad

Buck Marrinez... "The count goes to chew and chew".
down 8-2 and the venue is still somewhat filled, passionate fans!
Tom Wong lol that some what filled stadium is most playoff teams regular attendance for games
Toronto is a city that doesn't know the meaning of the word disappointed anymore, best fans in the world.
They were probably boozed up pretty healthily
Tom Wong 1:59 😂
Best sports city in the world. You ARE a superstar if you play in Toronto, even a bench guy.
Give it a couple years and this team will be dangerous.
Pietro il bambino I hope so
this team needs to reduce strikeouts
Nope. As long as they live by the big swing, they will die by the big swing. It makes for great drama and fan excitement, but when they finally learn to play team ball, they will win in the postseason.
BigRedrip. They play in the rogers centre. Just get a bunch of hitters and they'll be back to dominating.
Every blue jays fan ever lol
I remember being at the game with my cousin and my two nieces, my nieces first game. We sat down the first base line in the outfield. Bought them Jays jerseys with their names on them, #'s 9 and 14, their favorite numbers, and her favorite player being Justin Smoak. The look on her face when the ball went over the fence was priceless! What a day.
I'm still speeches. 5 years from now, I'll still be speechless. This team plays with a lot of heart and the young guys are fun and funny to watch. The best was when Martin threw his hat sooooo hard at the end.
Manuel Filimon I’m speeches too man.
then the hat was kicked soooo hard
Then Stroman kicks it into the air 🤣🤣
Almost
Are you still speechless
RIP to all who left early, you missed one hell of a game
Nah they're winners
@@rieldebonk1044 ???
I was at that game. Lucky enough to have amazing seats, about 3 rows up from 3rd base, and back when vladdy was playing 3rd. Teoscar threw a ball to me, and Ryan borucki signed my hat. And then this amazing comeback. What a day.
If the rays catcher would’ve framed some pitches you have to think this game wouldn’t have ended with the blue jays on top.
Jacob Felsing that was the worst effort of framing by a catch I’ve ever seen
Was thinking the same thing. Tellez the second batter in the inning would’ve been struck out because the 2nd 1-2 pitch I believe it was was a strike. But because he didn’t get his body in position it was a ball. Then hbp next batter. Then the strikeout of McGuire. Then the Jensen HR. Then Romo strikes out the first batter he faces. Then boom Rays win 8-5. But it didn’t happen.
I'm so happy that others were seeing this. I also don't know if the one leg down before the pitch was helping.
Catcher is lazy asf see the way he is catching the ball on his backhand for no reason sometimes.
Literally said this out loud man 100 percent true
thank you MLB for posting this
Gurriel's homer made the crowd sound like a playoff game :)) I yearn for Blue Jay baseball to be like that again
Yeah im a Red Sox fan and I remember 2015 and 16 were elite and fun for the jays
welcome to the new era of blue jays baseball

First one was a double with an error!
Been watching the Jays for 20 years, that was by far the craziest win I've ever seen. Wowzers.
The one last year when we also came from 7 runs down and Steve Pearce hit a GS walk-off. That was pretty amazing too. But yeah this was phenomenal!
@@sshaw1182 Neither walk off won a world series like Joe Carter's did in 93.

i was rewatching old jays highlights to relive the good times to when i saw this video suggested. I didn't think too much of it as only to just a big walk off. the more i watched it, the more i realized how similar it was to the recent august 2021 game against the athletics. i saw the familiar old faces which brought joy but sadness as to which they are not on the team. i see that romo is coming in to pitch and then it clicked that he was the same guy that pitched to semien in august. Then i see teo come on to pr which shocked me as i didnt know he was on the roster at the time. then i see lourdes come up to the plate which shocked me even more. In my head i thought "who thought they would be where they are now, look at them now". It blow my mind how similar this game was to the one in august. i feel as if this was the start of the jays we know today into something amazing. please excuse the word vomit, i just felt moved to say something after watching this video. cheers and
LETS GO BLUE JAYS!
LOL @ the six downvotes by Tampa fans.
Props to MLB for the unedited footage. More of this, please!
It was edited somewhat. They didn't show the last pitcher warm up. But the did show all of the pitches.
It’s 2023….. our offence is worse, but we have good pitching 🎉

Teoscar Hernandez as a pinch runner? Man, how 2 years makes a difference lol
im having flashbacks of 2015

I'm having flashbacks of 93.They came back to beat Philly in the bottom of the 9th of WS game 6 when J Carter hit the home run for them to win .
Yall are gonna have a pretty good team in a couple of years
Great comeback! They did the same thing last year against the Angels, down 9-4 going into the 9th inning but coming back to win 11-10.
Jose Bautista is proud.
Yes!!! Joey Bats the GOAT
Sept. 20, 2018: Jays down 8-2 in the 9th, Gurriel Jr. hits a Home Run to tie the game 8-8; Sergio Romo comes in to try to close the game with a 2 run lead and gives up a walk-off HR
Sept. 3, 2021: Jays down 8-2 in the 8th, Gurriel Jr. hits a Home Run to tie the game 8-8; Sergio Romo comes in to try to close the game with a 2 run lead and gives up a walk-off HR
Sergio Romo just gave up another big walk-off AGAIN in 2021-09-03, as a Oakland A. Curse at Rogers Centre?
Lol ik I just got this recommended
That really is a crazy win! Barely enough time to recover from Gurriel Jr's tying homer and along comes Smoak who immediately wins the game, absolutely incredible performance!
This was the day Charlie Montoyo wanted to become the Jays manager
I know its so funny how he is so passionate about the Jays now
That catcher cost Schultz soooo many strikes! As a Jays fan, keep it up! lol
sportsguy2905 didn’t frame one pitch
@@eyesofnight that's why they should've had Jeff Mathis
nonsense. schultz gave up a double, double, hit batter, strike-out-looking (weird, how'd schultz get a strike-out-looking without framing the pitch!?) and a 2 run homer on a 1-2 pitch... yep, blame the catcher for all that fail.
I watched this bottom of the 9th from the Zanzibar. Still worked out pretty good for me.😎
Blue Jay's have the best logo
congratz Blue Jays, we in Seattle have many years of watching leads slip away in the 9th
I'm a Houstonian. A die-hard Astros fan. I wasn't worried about this series we're playing against the Blue Jays right now until I saw this. What a comeback! Gotta say it's good to have a Gurriel on you your team, isn't it? :)
Good luck to the Astros in the playoffs!
No sport can ever compare to baseball

It's strange to see our 2018 squad. Many things changed but also stayed the same
That scene with grichuk, Pillar, Travis, and Russel Martin… miss those days!! 4:12
I miss baseball😢
Logan Kot It’ll be back before u know it. Just keep cool 😎
20:35 Who else got chills?
man that had to have been awesome for the Jays what a Comeback!
To bad it doesn't mean anything. But it's good to see the future of the Jays, Tellez, Lourdes, Jansen doing so will. Add Vladdy and Bichette in there and they could make a run within next 2-3 seasons.
2021 here - you ain’t wrong! Jays are frickin stacked and dangerous this season. Their record doesn’t quite reflect how good they are but that’s mostly due to key injuries. Once they get everyone back, they’re the kind of team no one wants to face. Even hobbled as they are, they’re top 10 in MLB power rankings. They’re a legit top 6-5 team. Can beat anybody in a series.
Man is the AL east gonna be interesting over the next few years. The jays have young team with a lot of good players coming up , the Yankees look like they were at the beginning of the millennium, the Red Sox look unbeatable and the Rays are in great shape.
pelumi obasa and the Astros are going to beat them all this year
Thank you youtube for reminding me of this amazing game
One of the best Blue Jays comeback🔥🔥
When the twins had a crazy comeback against the tigers I made the life decision to never leave early. So crazy.
The Rays where like, what the hell was that? With all the young talent on this team, give them a couple of years, we are going to be dangerous.
2021 calling - you ain’t wrong! lol
Went to WS in 2020 and are leading the AL East in 2021 right now you ain't wrong
I want baseball back
Catcher didn’t work for a single strike..... Hard to watch him receive
Facts bro it genuinely pisses me off to watch
great comeback, insane that the highlight of one inning lasts over 20 minutes.
I've always like John Gibbons as a manager and he's always done a great job handling players. His teams always seem to play with a lot of heart.
Next year will be Strange whitout gibbons
Peak 2000's bluejays lineup
Sergio Romo.. Blowing games since god knows when
Now he's a Jay lol
lmao the announcers didnt even react to the walkoff homerun
everyone knew it was coming
I'm a Blue Jays fan who has watched this over and over again. Even as I watch it each time I still can't believe we walked off Tampa Bay; especially as they'e our bogey team and couldn't even buy a hit until the bottom of the 9th! A very special moment for us fans.
those first three pitches to the first batter were really good borderline strikes if the catcher actually did his job
Man what a game! I can only imagine what it must have felt like to be at the game!
Shows you the kind of year the Rays are having! Have the same record as the Indians, have no chance of making the playoffs and lose a game like this.
Its a shame the East is the way it is. Hell even the Jays can be contenders next year with all the young talent coming up. That new pitching core is looking ELITE.
@@DoBap_ If they all can be consistent, they could be elite.
@@MrPooly1459 think about it. The Sox and Yanks are insane, the Rays are going to have a 90 win season and not even get a wild card. The Jays have a lot of impressive rookies this season such as Gurriel Jr, Reid-Foley, Borucki, Pannone, Tellez, Smith, Jansen, and McGuire. Lets not forget Vladdy Jr coming up next season, and the dept theyve already got all around the diamond. Theyve got trade chips to spare, the East next year will be INSANE.
@@DoBap_ Don't forget about Baltimore. I think they make a run next year too.😁

This has to go down on future MLB throwback montage
Wow that was amazing
Great sound from the bat and catchers mitt.
I sure dont miss these crowds
Wasnt the last 8-2 comeback that Romo blew for the Blue Jays
This is why baseball is great. NO lead in a game is safe.
This is also why the “unwritten rule” of baseball that says you shouldn’t swing on a 3-0 pitch when you have a late, big lead is dumb. I wonder if any Tampa player took on a 3-0 count in the 8th or 9th inning in this game?
Wow the 30 people there witnessed something special.
Praying the jays do this tonight
Really missing this feeling on what would have been opening day 2020 :(
Couldn't believe it when I saw the tied game on my Google prompts! Then they won shortly after that!
Love the Dominican/Midwest League acknowledgment. Absolutely love to see it.

why is nobody talking about the fact it was romo's 69th appearance?
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!!
wow...what a come back...bet the doubting Blue Jays fans who left early are kicking themselves for missing the 9th innings...some amazing hits with a belter by Smoak...
When I'm at the game I as well hate seeing fans leave early if the jays or leafs are losing it's not over until the fat lady sings the last time I was in Toronto for a game it was the leafs vs blackhawks on thanksgiving day the leafs were down 3-1 in the 3rd period playing at a slow pace and I kept telling myself it's not over until the fat lady sings sure enough the leafs tie the game send it to overtime and Auston Matthews got the game winning goal
It ain't over till its over!!! Part of why baseball is so great, never a guaranteed winner until the 27th out
The good ole days...
dude's 0-4 ... & knoks 1st pitch into seatz 2 tie it /whoa
And the stands are nearly empty. They deserve better fans.
Ahh the good ol announcers curse right at the start 😂
6 up 6 down last time!
Baseball batters really have to be smart. That last home run was noticing where Romo was likely gonna throw it and with that slider. The prediction is just incredible. He just knew
Im a Rays fan. This was probably the biggest choke of the season when we were making a major push for the 2nd wildcard. It was a long shot, but it was a shot. This was pretty devastating. Now that its next season, it's a great comeback. Too bad Schultz never showed his potential all season
I feel bad for Sergio, shouldn’t have had to even play. Got a strikeout, got a pop fly that should have been caught to end the game. Respect to the fans for staying for the bottom of the 9th in an 8-2 game
I feel like there should be an asterisk on games like this. I don't like to see pitchers punished for bad umpiring and bad managing.
The Tellez looked at a strike, called a ball. The Morales fly ball should have been caught easily, but the manager had the outfield playing deep for no reason.
Perfect definition of It ain’t over til it’s over
Irrespective of which team you are rooting for, you gotta love a game, whose structure allows for such come backs.
As an Orioles fan I these next 4 games are super important. This video makes me nervous.
Hoping for some more great baseball down the road between us
What a time to be a Canadian
Wow 🤩 wow unforgettable 9 inning 👏👏👏♥️ the begging 🙏 for Guriel 💪💪🙏
This is why you always swing 3-0 no matter the score
I love the Rays!!
This is not the first time the Blue Jays did this to the Rays
