2. Buy via CE's books (Mailed)
3. Ask your job if they offer CE's (may not always be free)
4. Renewing BLS, ACLS, ECG course and earn CONTACT HOURS that can be used for CE's
5. ANY educational classes your jobs offers
6. Different Organizations (OAAPN in ohio); offers CE's

7. APP meetings/Hospitals Grand Rounds
8. Up to date reference/app offers CME's everytime you use it as well

Can you do a video on some of the most important lessons you learned in your first year of being an NP? I will be starting practice in the next couple of months...currently job hunting. Would appreciate hearing what I may expect.

Oh also, can you explain why you are maintaining your RN license. I always thought I would resign as soon as I became an NP. Would love to hear your thoughts on that too :)

Nima Hey! Here in Ohio You need an active RN license to practice as a NP, so you have to continue to renew your RN license every 2 years, as well as your new NP license.. so it’s like, how can you be a “nurse practitioner” if you’re no longer a “ nurse”.. you’re no longer going to work as a nurse but your license still needs to be active..

Oh I see. Didn't realize that the APRN license is tied to the NP license. I live in Toronto but I will be moving to Minneapolis next year so this is good to know. In the province of Ontario, NP and RN licenses are separate.
