This song has been a mystery to me for YEARS. Thank you for clearing a lot up and thank you for all your Smiths lessons. YOU ARE THE BEST!!
'All art constantly aspires towards the condition of music"......a wonderful lesson, thank you....
Absolutely brilliant - a very difficult song, but you got it exactly. Thanks.
Excellent lesson, Thank you! Keep more of the Smiths coming please!
I've been trying to figure out Johnny Marr's guitar playing for years and you have provided this great, very lucid rendering of one of my faves! Thank you for this!! Well done :)
Well done Allison...Every tutorial you've done has been spot-on!! thank you and keep em comin.
Brilliant teacher, great guitarist too, AND you teach the smiths. Thank you so much
Such excellent and clear instruction. You are miraculously transparent. Thank you so much for sharing your time and knowledge and skill! Please keep it up!
Thank you, Thank you! You are like the answers on the back of a math textbook. You are Awesome!
Great interpretation combining the guitar parts and I like the way you presented it. Looking forward to learning more from you, Allison!
You're just great! I love these videos about the Smiths!
Hi again Allison. I must say you did a splendid job on this one. It can't have been easy. You really excelled this time around! Trilby off to you!
Alison, thank you so so much for taking the time to do this, one of my favourite Smith's songs! A superb lesson on a very difficult song with so many overlays of guitar, in no way easy but you've done a fantastic job as always!
My request for possible consideration would be That joke isn't funny anymore :)
Thanks again and please keep them coming! ..
Amazing! Like always!
Thank you! Your lessons rock!
This sounds so like the way Marr does it. Excellent.
Love your lessons. Just followed your Lovesong lesson :)
Quite possibly my fav photo of Johnny Marr, along with one of my favorite Smiths songs, along with my new favorite Smiths teacher...a pretty decent trifecta. Now if only I could play this song at more than half speed...
Thanks for this! I never thought I'd be able to learn this but you're a fantastic teacher!
Thank you - sounds great in 2nd position - this songs quite a handful at tempo - all your lessons are excellent
Thank you, from Belgium.
Thank you for this tutorial (as well as the other Smith tutorials)! As an avid Smiths fan it's so nice that you took the time to do these videos.
❤🧡 I was struggling with this one, thanks!
Thanks for a great lesson!
You inspired me to get back on playing, thank you.
Awesome!
Thanks very much for this. It's similar to the way another guy plays it on here but you've explained it so much better!
Love your videos, could you please do a “Boy With A Thorn In His Side” lesson, that would be amazing. Thank You!
thank you, thank you, thank you so much.
Hey I recently got back into guitar and thank you for all these useful tips

I used to read a guitar magazine here in the UK called Total Guitar. They routinely provide a CD of recordings of tracks they tab for readers benefit. Their resident guru whom provided the re-recording for this & the myriad of other tracks they tabbed claimed it was the most challenging thing he ever had to reproduce as everything had to be bang on the money
Very very grateful that you took my request and put the effort in! Thank you so much! More videos of your bands please
Such a beautiful chorus at the 11:43 mark; it's unbelievable that somebody actually created this. It's rumored that Johnny wrote WIWRN in the back of a speeding van with a guitar.
It was in reality, in the passenger seat of an Austin Princess going 15mph with a trumpet. Weird but true.
Excellent! Thank you for doing these. I know it's been requested before by others, but I would love to see you do Morrissey's "Suedehead" someday. Thanks for all that you do.
Allison, you are really something. 👍🏻🙂👍🏻
thanks thanks thanks!!
love you
Thanks, from Brasil...
Allison - thank you so much for these! I love that you share the Gear Geeks info - would you walk us through the pedal board you use for your gigs?
Yesterday I told my vocal/guitar coach that I was thinking of adding this song to my acoustic set. He said "I love Johnny Marr - he never plays the same thing once " :-)
Thank you Allison! Great video as always!! I liked your singing too, no need to apologize haha.
Hey I like ur profile picture I love New Order.
Thak you a lot Allison. You're doing a great favor for all musicians/fans around the world(I'm from Brazil). Any chance for "heaven knows Im miserable now" lesson?
I always thought this (as many other songs by The Smiths) had a very unusual chord progression and structure for a pop song...
I play this capo'd at the 7th and it sounds much more like johnny on the record, still sounds fantastic on the 2nd though
ily
Superbe and simple....'...come to Brazil for a show...'...Tks :D
You came in clutch
Alem de muito bonita toca muito e ensina muito bem
muito leal as suas alulas estou aprendendo bastante com voce

Awesome 👏 Can you do Girl Afraid?
Really good lessons for Smith's fans. You do a good job for those who might not be as adept musically as they might yet become.
Just out of curiosity, is your band a "Smiths" tribute type band or do you do other stuff. Do you do any of your own songs, either as a band or just yourself and if so where might I find them? I really enjoy your style of teaching over the interweb even though I'm not a 'die hard' Smiths fan I do like the music and your particular way of imparting the music. Some U.S UA-camrs (self called guitar teachers) are so in your face and go at the camera like it is something to be conquered. Your style gives one the feeling that we're in your lounge room and you're just showing a friend how to play a song that both like. Much friendlier and cruisier. You should have more subscribers than you have. Good wishes from Australia.
Hi. Love your lessons. I see you’re using a Fender amp , but what model is it? Thanks.
Cool you got Johnny mars pic on your wall
Hey Allison! I also use the 68 Custom Princeton Reverb. Wonderful amp. My question - what are you using for your overdrive? What do you find pairs best with that amp? Whatever you're using sounds killer.
We alternate between Fulltone OCD, Fulltone Fulldrive 2, Fulltone '69 Fuzz and an old Proco Rat distortion pedal, depending on what sounds right. In some of the early videos, we used the drive channel on the Fender Blues Deluxe we were using. Sometimes what sounds great in the room doesn't sound great on video, and visa-versa...so it's hard to say what works best.
Alison, could you do a tutorial on 'November spawned a monster'? I can't find the right tabs for this anywhere or anyone doing a competent lesson on it. It would be brilliant if you did, so... pretty pleeeeease!
thanks sweetie. :-********
Alison do you do a version of Alison by Elvis Costello?
I appreciate the “and then it’s almost over” comment, as wading through some of these picking sequences does feel a bit like going to the dentist.
You and JohnJoe Marr in the same room would be scary!
Apple for teacher.
Cool, Jennifer Lawrence taught me how to play the Smiths
Where can i watch your Smiths cover band?
Your hands are rather hypnotizing.
8:19
Hmmm. Not capo 7 C-G-Dsus-Eminor ? This is almost certainly what Johnny Marr was playing in the studio, if he did what you’re playing live once, he was showing off.
So great you are baby :)
Was that your partner @3:25 ? ;p
Johnny Marr‘s songwriting = witchcraft.
Is it just me or is this one kinda difficult to get right
Allison, would you like to marry me?... 🙂 Very very well done!!
Down a string, not up
witchcraft
What about the bridge?
