On this week’s episode, we take the American Real set on the road for the very first time; doubling-down at the Harrah’s Resort and Casino in Atlantic City. Here, I meet with the undisputed Heavy Weight Champ of Italian Cooking, Steve Martorano, where we sit down inside his exquisite restaurant for a two-hour long conversation.
When it seemed like the only future for a kid from the streets of South Philly was to drive a truck or join the mob, it was his passion for cooking and music that inspired him to reach for more.
In his tough, yet fun-loving style, Steve discusses his struggles and vices, passion and purpose after being saved by his love for food, his wife, his family and his faith. For the first time ever, we get the inside track of how a trip to Mulberry Street in New York City’s Little Italy, provided the spark to what is now a growing chain of flourishing restaurants.
In an uncut, unrehearsed and unedited conversation, Steve provides inspiration and hope told in his own words, as his selfless generosity and zest for life demonstrate a true example to NEVER GIVE UP!
So sit back, relax, grab a homemade meatball sandwich or Philly cheesesteak, as I welcome Steve “You Cuz” Martorano!

I WILL NEVER GIVE UP ESPECIALLY AFTER WATCHING YOU......Steve your my age, and your from Philly ...A few things that I remember growing up. Do you remember getting in line for the free block of yellow cheese, and going to get food and pulenta and butter at the barracks at Broad & Federal St ? Saint Rita's to give us free rolls, and so did ABC bakery . Do you remember the whip that you got to ride for a nickle and when you got off you got a piece of gum ? Do you remember the fruit tuck every week, and the pretzel kid. Of course there was Herby Greens on 9th. street that would sell BoBos sneakers for 50cents a pair, and you had to pray that they both were the same size, and one was left and the other was right. Steve, i had it much worse then you did coming from a family of 14,eight girls and six boys. born and raised on 7th. and tasker St. I can go on and on, but it's late and i enjoyed your show, all reality. 100% Of cours all of my brother went to work four in the morning, came home, put there quarter or 50 cents on the table then got ready for school. The went and packed rolls , worked with the milk man, they delivered papers.. We were so happy in those days, . My mom would make gravy Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. Three times a week macaroni, that's why I refuse to eat rigatoni today. Ok, Good night and I enjoyed listening you rminessing about the good old days............................NOW THE NEXT PART OF MY LIFE, BRIEFLY.......Ibx says LIVE FEARLESS........As a mother do you think that this is right to do to a mother in need ?.... Her son in laws name goes right across the Blue Cross Bldg./Fred's Footsteps. His father G.Fred DiBona was the former CEO of Blue Cross. He also followed his father's organization Fred's Footsteps. Her son in law Fred DiBona III is married to her daughter Teresa. Also the DiBona family developed Fred's Footsteps for families in need of medical and house hold bills wile a parent is out of work. Her daughter Teresa is married to Fred and they just had her second grandchild. Tell me does not charity begin at home. She has State medical insurance, welfare not Blue Cross. She can not afford to eat, She gets get food Stamps, She needs an operation on my knee and is also a two time cancer survivor. The State medical coverage will not cover the operation so that she can walk. I just want to ask you, doesn't charity begin at home ? Blue Cross says Live Fearless, we'll let me tell you that she lives in fear and pain every day of my life because she can not get the medical attention that she needs. Fred DiBona III mother in law lives in fear every day of her life because she can not afford the medical attention that she needs. Also lives alone and no one to take care of her. and left for dead to fend for herself. That mother is me.............AFTER THIS I NEVER GAVE UP .
