I prefer him over the other actor Forsythe playing Sammy. For one he didn’t look close to Sammy facially, I mean Forsythe is a good actor but it didn’t fit although it was a great flick. I remember this movie but I can’t find it on netflix .
@@frankbernat740 I agree with Franzese that HBO Gotti is one of the greatest mob movies ever (and imo the most underrated). Forsythe did a pretty good job playing Gravano but I always felt Nick Turturro had the potential to outshine him. Like he said, it was a television movie so they were limited as to what they can do and Turturro didn't have a lot of time to prepare for the role.

This was a very interesting episode. I've watched 'Witness to the Mob' many times, as well as other films with actors who portrayed Sammy the Bull, and I think Nicholas Turturro did the best job to date.
Mr Franzese comes across as your father who overstands everything you've been through and will go through based on your personal choices and always has the right ideas and or advice, no matter what choice you make.

I watched “Witness to the Mob” when it came out in 1998 and I liked it. I thought that Nick did a great job. The cast was great also. Michael Imperioli ,Christopher in the Sopranos,played Lue Millito who was Sammy’s best friend. Tom Sizemore played Gotti,Frank Vincent played Frankie DeCicco even though he was much older. Abe Vigoda played Paul Castelono. Frankie Valli played Frank LoCascio. Vincent Pastore,Big Pussy,played Michael De Batt. Tony Sirico,Pauly Walnuts,played Tommy Gambino. I forgot that this movie had almost the entire lead cast of the Sopranos in it. Katherine Narducci , who played Artie Bucco’s wife in the Sopranos,played Linda Milito. Nick is a great actor,he is very versatile and can play serious roles or he can play comedic roles. Like in “The Longest Yard “ with Adam Sandler,Chris Rock. Well, I will say this. I remember rehearsing for a role in a church play once when I was in elementary school (Judas Iscariot).This was between 96-98. The day of the play, I got stage fright, unfortunately I couldn't make it to the show. Mind you I was probably 9,10,11 at the time. The pastor and those who wrote the play were baffled by my performance when we would be rehearsing. Looking back at it, if only I knew then what I know now kinda thing. I agree with Nick about knowing the craft and loving/working at it, plus learning things along the way. Another thing I noticed about missing out (actors may or may not agree on this), are on opportunities (not just acting either)! You never know what those opportunities will bring you! Good interview as always Mr. Franzece! Mr. Turturro, I'm a fan of your work. You sir are a great actor. As far as A Bronx Tale goes, I do respect Mr. DeNero for stepping up and directing that movie helping Mr. Palmintieri out with making that happen.
