Putting it into perspective that there are 52 Sundays in the year made me feel stressed and hopeful all in one. That's a good way to think about it, makes it feel less scary. Bookstore and thrift store are my fave places to be for a Selfish Sunday, I'm with you on the books!
Omg at first I was like I don't want to make you even more stressed girl😅 But yes do what makes you look forward to those 52 Sundays a year! Not all of them will be great obviously that's just life but here's to making the most of the ones we can 🤍✨
Absolutely love this. I get the Sunday Scaries without fail every week, get so depressed and overthink my whole life 😂 need to take your advice and make Sundays a different sort of day for sure!
I used to have nightmares every single night but something my therapist taught me was to say to myself right before I go to bed "I will have good dreams tonight" (while you are saying this think of something that makes you happy). I know this sounds dumb and like it won't work but trust me IT WORKS
Yes to clean sheets Sunday! 🙋🏻♀️ I typically change my sheets Saturday as well and I love waking up Sunday morning to fresh sheets. So worth it. 🥰 Usually Sundays I’ve been reading, playing video games, or decluttering and getting ready for the week. We all need a reset day each week and typically Sunday is mine. ☺️
OMG I had such anxiety today! Thank you for your video and its emphasis on self-care. I do have an errand to run for my kids though, but will take some hours to indulge. I'm sorry for the protests interrupting your plans, but I'm glad you still found joy. Thank you for your podcast recommendation. That series is great. Happy Valentine's Day!
yesss i'm here for it! i did a ~selfish saturday~ yesterday! i work full time and also run an etsy shop so weekends have basically just been working on etsy things which has been leading me to feeling so burnt out. felt so nice to just chill and do things for myself all day yesterday. great video as always!
Add on to waking up in fresh sheets, one thing I love on some days: a nice long morning walk, eating something, a nice luxury shower, fresh pyjamas and crawling back in bed. Just dedicatedly crawling back to read, or whatever, in a fresh bed with a fresh pyjamas.
I feel like new pyjamas makes it idk, decadent instead of feeling like a slump you know? Like we have all had days where we just don't put clothes on, its usually not great days, putting on new pyjamas though makes it a solo-pyjama party.
Oh dang I'm down in Florida! (I died whenbyou said it's warm, minus 5 out😅) But swapping out my old high-school t-shirts and leggings for pajama sets is on my list of self care for 2022 💓
Just the video I needed. I spent yesterday in the ER and I'm pretty sure I was stressed about today since my in-office schedule has changed...again. Looks like I need to focus on self care Sunday as well. Thank you for sharing.
We love the selfish sunday idea! I also worry sometimes on Sundays about the upcoming week, and I’ve learned to have something to look forward to, helps a lot.
I know this is unrelated but I love watching your financial content & I think it’d be awesome if you made any content about how you started doing UA-cam/monetized it/etc or any tips for other girls who want to use it as a way to become more financially independent too! 🥰
I love this!! The only thing is UA-cam has changed so much since I've been monetized so there's probably better channels out there that explain it. I will say do NOT go into it for money- you have to do it because you LOVE it! So many people nowadays go into social media for easy money & it took me 4 years to financially independent from it. I don't burn out because I genuinely love it, I would if I did it for the money. So first just make sure you do it for the right reasons or you will burn out so fast♥️
Such an amazing video and such good vibes - Sundays are amazing days which sadly often get consumed by anxiety or depression. Thank you so much for making this. Just one tiny suggestion - maybe altering the title as there's nothing 'selfish' about self care. It's a very very responsible way to be as it means we can be better versions of ourselves to others 🙂 Keep up the great work and the super Sundays 👍
You're right & that's the intention of this video! Hence why it's called "making self care a priority" ☺️ I think the pandemic has truly taught alot of people (including myself) and we can actually take some kind of joy in knowing that when I take care of myself, I often am also taking care of others! Self care isn't always just a face mask but setting priorities, setting boundaries and finding purpose in life! When you do make time for self-care, it’s easy to be misunderstood by others as selfish. But if you don’t make time for yourself, who will? Society has taught us that we have to take care of others before we take care of ourselves. And I want to re write that narrative ☺️

self-care isn’t selfish, tho…
