Born in the 70's and funnily enough, I did much better in this quiz than the 50's quiz. I think that's because I was exposed more to 1940's icons growing up. They were more prominent in pop culture. For example there were always caricatures of them in old cartoons. I always watched things like the Little Rascals and the Three Stooges which were rooted in that decade. But I was hardly exposed to 50's stuff which was the beginning of television. There wasn't a lot of reruns because a lot of that stuff was lost.
I know I would have done better if my brain worked as fast with names as it does with recognizing faces! There were around 4 that I didn't recognize at all. Being born in 1958 didn't help much either. I still managed to get 24 names out before the time ran out. I still can't believe I couldn't pull up THAT MANY names. It's annoying.
She was the only one I missed....and I said those EXACT words! I said Ann Sothern for some reason but if that was a full length photo I would have gotten Cyd Charisse!!
Missed the dancing actress from "silk stockings", darn it. And that was sneaky putting a noted scientist (besides the obvious first one) in towards the end, but I got him. Still - I'm happy with 39 out of 40.
I grew up in the early 70's ...nearly all of these were household names...but I missed one...Oppenheimer...I knew who we was, but I didn't know what he looked like...
i got 37 and missed 3 in the time allowed. Cyd Charisse I love from all the musicals but she looked somehow different here. Oppenheimer was the next. I recognised the face but seeing him amongst all the actors I was trying to ascertain which actor he was. Then with Olivia de Havilland’s sister, Joan Fontaine, I had to pause the timer for a few extra seconds to recall her name. Great quiz though. Lots more please.
I missed 9. Don't know who Oppenheimer and Frida whatever were. Couldn't think of 4 of their names. But, I knew who they were. Missed Billie Holiday, Heddy Lamar, and Cyd Chariesse. Enjoyed the Quiz. I like how you keep track of which number we are on.
@@aspenrebel Frida Kahlo was a painter from Mexico, she became pretty famous. Easy to spot in quizs like this because of her heavy dark brows. Bonus fact for a time she was the lover of Leon Trotsky while he was in Mexico on the run from Lenin.
I missed nine, but only two were straight up "I don't know that face." The others were more "I'm going to kick myself when the name comes up..." I was born in 1971, but two of my biggest crushes are on this list.
I missed 10. Robert Oppenheimer was no fare. I need to learn the 409s actresses better. I knew the names, but couldn't put the right names with the right face.
@@meredithgreenslade1965 I was born in 1970 and got 37 right, though I’ve always loved old black and white films. Such class, great clothes and no swearing!
If you ask for 1940's celebrities, PLEASE use photos from the 1940's then. Here you mix photos from the 60's (Hitchcock!) with 50's and even early 30's (the Frida Kahlo photo dates from 1932). And this mess I recognized in other videos of your's as well. So PLEASE use matching picture for each time - else use different celebs.
I realized something about this quiz.. while I was able to name most of the men.. very few of the women did I know who they were. It makes me curious why that is.. is it because men always had the leading role back then? Or is that just the way my brain remembers things ? It actually disturbed me somewhat
29/40. Not bad for a guy born in the 70s

I was born in 1959. I used to watch AMC when it was all classic movies. That helped me a lot. I missed 9.
Me too! I was coming up with movies or songs before names. There were two I absolutely did not recognize, and I was born in '71.
@@jenerhart7025 you did better than me even though you're 13 years younger! Good job!
I was born 24 hrs ago
Missed them all!
You should have waited for the 2010's quiz!! Lol
Got 20 right, was born in 1998.
1 that I couldn't identify. 2 that I knew but had a brain freeze
34/40 - 2 were people I'd never seen before...the other 4 I recognized but couldn't spit out the name in time. Great Fun!!🤓🖖
Too easy, knew them all. Born 1946.
23 right. Several I recognized, but couldn't bring the name up.
34/40. I would have guessed Cyd Charisse, but I've only ever looked at her legs.
She was the only one I missed....and I said those EXACT words! I said Ann Sothern for some reason but if that was a full length photo I would have gotten Cyd Charisse!!
33 out of 40. I watched lots of old films on TV over the years.
Heady and Eva have the same exotic look!
Missed 3. Sometimes I could only name the last name or the first name. Loved playing! Thank you

But what year were you born?
36/40. Some of the early photos of the stars was a little challenging.
37 right

I only didn't recognize Perry Como.
I couldn't think of Joan Fontaine's name either. I could only think that she was Olivia's sister. One I missed. I missed 9 .
I got 37 right.
Didn’t recognize Oppenheimer…got all the others.
Never heard of Frida Kahlo. But I'm only 80-years-old, so I'll give myself a pass on that one...my only faux pas. Great quiz, tho.
Awesome
I knew I wouldn't do **too** well with this one. I missed maybe half or more.
35 out of 40...not bad...some of those i missed were outside my field of expertise which is film
37/40.
I'm only 56 but I did better on this one than for the 60's quiz
GO Figure!
21/40-interesting but not as easy as I thought it would be (I know -poor excuse)
33 out of 40. I had brain freeze on Lawrence Olivier, although I recognized him. All I could think was Vivien Leigh's husband.
Got 26. Great.
I got 14 wrong on this quiz and I got 19 wrong on the 60s celebrities, which is surprising, since I was born in 1961. I love these quizzes!
Same here,I knew the faces but forgot some of there names...
I got all but five

I have no idea who the Frida person was, Openhammer who was one of the nuclear bomb scientists, and I always think Cyd Charisse is a man
@@aspenrebel Cyd Charisse was an actress and a dancer.

Liz taylor louis armstrong einstein lucille ball
38/40. Disappointed though, no Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Barbara Stanwyck, Lana Turner.

Well alot I knew but I just couldn't think of the names and some I had no idea who that picture was.
I got 29 out 0f 40. Not too bad.
MISSED 1. INTERESTING QUIZ;;;;;;🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Got 24. Didn't know some of the women. Didn't recognise Judy Garland or Laurence Olivier. Many I recognised but couldn't get the name in time!

Missed 15 names, remarkably including Liz Taylor, Openheimer, Nat King Cole, Orson Welles.
I got 21 right. These are mostly from just before my time. (born 1947)
All the best people were born in 1947. Elton John David Bowie you me!
Same birth year, same score!

He developed the atom bomb.
