This is certainly a hard challenge. The problem is many were either famous before photography, or photography was in it's infancy, so their images are rarely seen.
This quiz popped up in my recommended today. I love quizzes. 26 of 40 I knew from the paintings or photographs. The others I had heard most of their names before but just had no idea what they looked like.
I’ve not seen pictures of most of these historical figures but I am happy that I knew who 37 of them were when the names flashed up. Thank you for posting this as it was a fun challenge.
I did slightly better, but I wanted the quiz to end early, so I could increase my chances at getting more right. No such luck. As I continued, my percentage of correct responses declined. Oh, well! Fudgesickle!🍭
I honestly find too many Anglophone figure, especially American. Why not Michelangelo? Vivaldi? Suleiman? Robespierre? Voltaire? Or Woytijla. I never heard some names of some of these Anglophones people. I guess it's OK for an American or AngloSaxon perspective, but why Victoria and not, you know, Caesar, Charlemagne, Augustus?
Faces don't really test your historical knowledge. If you had a blurb like "discoverer of uranium", "author of the theory of relativity", " first president of the US", etc., then this quiz would have been more useful.
Thanks a lot for this I discover your channel it's great! what is great about your quizz is that these people can be categorized as important people in history you have to know! so it's really helpful! really difficult because of old photographies we don't know their faces but we know their names! but very challenging!
I got 22 correct ... I confess, I had never even heard of 2 or 3 of them... some were basically iconically recognizable ...some were educated guesses. When I saw Pasteur, I said ..."hmm..I don't know, but he's French..." ...so, was kinda on the right track..
This is a Scottish economist. It was he who introduced the concept of the Invisible Hand of the market in the book An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations
The twelve wrong were all painted, except for Freud…so familiar but his name wouldn’t come in time. Seem many, many portraits of Marie Antoinette, none of them looked like the one shown here
24/40. I think I got every photo one right except Pasteur and Florence Nightingale (who was pretty good-looking I'd say), and I got almost every portrait wrong except the real obvious ones like Napoleon and Washington.
Historical figures are important for what they did, not what they looked like. Some of these (e.g. William Shakespeare) are definitely not the best known representation of them.
The Detroit Red Wings owner Mike Ilitch paid Rosa Park's rent from the time she was attacked in her apartment in 1994 until her death in 2005. I know that because a friend of mine played for the Red Wings for 10 years and he said Mike Ilitch was the greatest person he has ever met.
Missed 9 out of 40 ... Marie Curie, Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, Simón Bolívar, Rene Descartes, Louis Pasteur, Nicolaus Copernicus, James Watt, Adam Smith ... in my defense; in my youth i knew these; (Except for = Jane Austen - Rene Descartes - James Watt - Adam Smith ← Had absolutely No Idea who this particular individual Was; Never ... 'Heard of Him' ... In My LIFE!) and Secondly = ALL Were ... "Non-AMERICANS"! ... I Knew EVERY ... "American Historical Figure" ... On THIS!
This is certainly a hard challenge. The problem is many were either famous before photography, or photography was in it's infancy, so their images are rarely seen.
Next time please give us the clue of their achievements. Thanks.
34/40
The images shown would be how we know them since we only have them as references.
Only fans of your thing and they say its the best
I got 30.I'm officially a moron.@@martaavendanofernandez8979
About 33 out of 40. This was a good quiz, much more challenging than multiple choice quizes, which I can almost always guess correctly.
Thanks and well done! 😃
Agreed, would have scored a lot higher if it was mc
33 out of 40, Mr. fancy pants! HAHA!
i didn't recognize smith and watt.
This quiz popped up in my recommended today. I love quizzes. 26 of 40 I knew from the paintings or photographs. The others I had heard most of their names before but just had no idea what they looked like.
I scored the same as you! I bet we did better than most people!
impressive very nice
We got the same score and I totally agreed with you that we know lots of them but sometimes never see or be unfamiliar with their face
Weeeeeeee…
YASSS
I’ve not seen pictures of most of these historical figures but I am happy that I knew who 37 of them were when the names flashed up. Thank you for posting this as it was a fun challenge.
I understand what you mean. I kicked myself of a lot of them.
Most of them were dead easy, but I had no idea what Simon Bolivard, Dickens, Descartes. Pasteur, Watt, or Copernicus looked like!
yeah, you would need a history or art background to know some of these people
For Marie Curie you should’ve picked a photo of her when she was older, as that would’ve been more recognizable.
27/40 those guys with the long beards got me
Pretty poor 20/40, although I'd heard of them all. Mistook 3 early ones for Copernicus and then missed him when he finally came up :D
I did slightly better, but I wanted the quiz to end early, so I could increase my chances at getting more right. No such luck. As I continued, my percentage of correct responses declined. Oh, well! Fudgesickle!🍭
if i really tried hard, i can probably name the artist...i can look it up but i won't because it will come to me in the middle of some obscure thought
Here's a tip to get a higher score. Mute the audio. It will stop the annoying, mind numbing "music" to allow you to think of the answer more quickly.
Great fun. Learned a few too. For the 10 who gave a thumbs down…why?!
Coz they're dumb! Lol Nah, who knows 😀
@@MareeStone798ms no because commies should never be put next to other great historical figures, its an insult.
Please would u mind making a video for what they are really well known of. Please
10/40…. Dang this one was really hard for me. I think I need a serious refresher course on history!
Despite being 15 in iran, i got 26/40 i think that's a good score but gotta learn more!
37. Missed Freud...of course I knew who it was, just couldn't pull the name. Watt and Smith, I had no idea.
I knew all these...but not all by the photos presented...LOL !!!
8/40😂and the worst is i have heard most of them, but completly forgot it! My history sucks
Only missed 6 or 7, which is not too bad. Hadn't heard of about 4 of those. Great quiz.
Thanks !!
33 correctas. No tenía conocimiento de imagen de algunas personajes como Earhart. Austin. Catalina la grande y Rosa Park.
Marie Curie-Sklodowska , 2 x Nobelpreis!!!
Good quiz!
Thanks Darlene 😃 !!
This was tough, usually ace these things. Great instructive quiz.
Faces don't really test your historical knowledge. If you had a blurb like "discoverer of uranium", "author of the theory of relativity", " first president of the US", etc., then this quiz would have been more useful.
That’s a nice idea, thanks Amos
Just to be annoying: there were a few people involved in uranium research (none of them featured in the quiz:).
This is my favorite quiz. Can you make a historical figures quiz part 2?
35. That's good enough for me! Fun quiz with some challenges in there.
29/40 quite tough, but great one!
26. Challenging. Good quiz.
35/40 - question 40 was a tough one ...
Fantastic quiz. Difficult but educational. I got maybe 10 only but not embarrassed. I knew about 20 of these figure.
Wow this quiz showed me how little school actually taught. I'm gonna go look every one of these up that I got wrong now.
32/40. Some I had no clue and others I've seen a different painting of them. Overall, an excellent quiz.
Thank you and well done Dennis! 😃
33. I crumbled toward the end. I couldn’t take an educated guess.
41/50 a few I never even heard of...tough quiz
41 was not bad.
Considering there was only 40 questions. 😂
34 out of 40. Problems with Jane Austen, Florence Nightingale, Adam Smith, Rosa Parks, Louis Pasteur, and James Watts.
17/40 A hard quiz! I hadn't seen pictures of many of them, but a fun to do....!
I was very disapointed with myself getting only 27. Good quiz.
Not a bad score 👍
U should be happy with yours, i only got 8/40
@UCFD-xjKFp40FytE_bQVLaIA 20, which makes this more embarrising
@@TheQuizChannel Thank you. I named Copernicus three times except when his picture came up.
Very good quiz. Really testing but I got 80% correct.
Thanks Andrew and nice score 👍
36/40. Missed Dickens, Pastur, Watt and Adam Smith.
The same four I missed, thought Dickens was Carl Marx.
Thanks a lot for this I discover your channel it's great! what is great about your quizz is that these people can be categorized as important people in history you have to know! so it's really helpful! really difficult because of old photographies we don't know their faces but we know their names! but very challenging!
29/40 Not bad. The scientists tripped me up a bit like Corpenicus lol
Maree par score is 32
@@kenyk1254 Well done!
Wow. It's a great compilation. I got 28 out of 40. Very interesting quiz.
Thank you 😃
I got 22 correct ... I confess, I had never even heard of 2 or 3 of them... some were basically iconically recognizable ...some were educated guesses. When I saw Pasteur, I said ..."hmm..I don't know, but he's French..." ...so, was kinda on the right track..
24/40, A very tough quiz indeed! Enjoyed it.
Me too! 24/40😊
35/40. Some pictures look like they have been processed through an AI art program
Have heard of all of them except one but didn't recognise some of them.
27/40 I thought I’d do better. Some of them were on the tip of my tongue but couldn’t recall within the timeframe. Great video quiz. Thanks
Thanks James and you’re welcome 😃
Same here
27/40 if only I had just a few more seconds
Had to look up Adam Smith.
Had never heard of him!
This is a Scottish economist. It was he who introduced the concept of the Invisible Hand of the market in the book An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations
Drew a blank on Jane Austen, mistook Bolívar for Santa Anna, hesitated on Da Vinci and Shakespeare but my first instinct was correct. Good quiz!
Great quiz, I dropped 16.
21/40. Very hard. 3 I have never heard of.
20/40 most were never taught of in my schools
The twelve wrong were all painted, except for Freud…so familiar but his name wouldn’t come in time. Seem many, many portraits of Marie Antoinette, none of them looked like the one shown here
Very interesting 👍👍
22/40 I'm suprised that I got over 20. I know some of the Names that I didn't get right, but never saw the Faces befor.
right there with ya. cheers.
same here ...got 22 ...
30/40. Good quiz. 👍😀
Thank you Sherry 😃
34/40 - I missed Jane Austen, Adam Smith, Louis Pasteur, Rosa Parks, Rene Descartes and Christopher Columbus
14/40
But I’m in highschool so cut me some slack 😆 I was guessing everyone with hair buns as Beethoven
Not Maria Curie, but Maria Skłodowska-Curie.
i got 30 correct the ones i got wrong i have never seen the pics before
28/40. Very interesting and at the same time not very easy.
I hope you added some information about their legacy. As a take away. But I'm happy about ur content. I know some of them..☺
Thanks Iowiena, that’s a nice suggestion!
#35.. that there, is a historical figure 💯💯💯💯💯
31/40. I don't really even know who James Watt and Adam Smith are. Philosophers maybe? Off to study.
35/40
Not bad, I guess^^
(I just can't remember some of their names:))
24/40. I think I got every photo one right except Pasteur and Florence Nightingale (who was pretty good-looking I'd say), and I got almost every portrait wrong except the real obvious ones like Napoleon and Washington.
That was a very young Florence Nightingale. Most pictures I’ve seen showed her at older ages. I guessed that one correctly, though.
29/40... Ohhhhh Snap!!! Lolxx 😂😜🇬🇧
31/40, rene decaartes and copernicus looked like twins
36/40 Thank You. I enjoyed the quiz very much. 😊
You’re welcome Sherry 😃 and well done !!
#36 Copernicus - I guessed that he was Inigo Montoya (from "The Princess Bride.")
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar
26/40. Very good quiz.
As a Swiss citizen I don't know much of English history. Although I enjoyed the quiz and lernt a lot
Thank you.

34 /40 some I've haven't seen before!
I actually don't know most of them 🥺🥺🥺
24/40. Enjoyed the quiz.
23/40. Thanks for the interesting quiz. Greetings from Switzerland.
Thanks Maria 😃 greetings from the Netherlands 👋

I thought it was. Seen this portrait numerous times.
Brilliant quiz and I'm sorry to put this but 36 reminds me of Keanu Reeves character from Bill and Ted.
Was away too easy
😜
Tough quiz! Darwin was easy LOL! I missed 15.

Managed 35 this time .🇬🇧

You’re welcome Jerry 😃
_'that Rene guy never heard of'_
How can you be sure that you exist?
"I think, therefore I am."
31 of 40. That's bad for me.
31/40, good quiz.
12 /40 some of these people I didn't know who they were
I didn't do too badly: missed (or couldn't identify) four of them. But I loved this quiz! Thank you for putting it on.
34. I loved it
Real bad 20/40 kicked by behind.
I got 26 right the ones that are very famous before photography got invented are really hard
please make more quiz like this💓
Not bad but some paintings were difficult Copernicus for example and Bolivar well not familiar. certainly jad me stumped.
39 right,thank you
