@@Lily_The_Pink972 Mandella was barely known even in South Africa at that time but, as for the rest of the world, people knew very little about what was going on even in their neighbouring countries because, most had enough troubles of their own
I didn't think it was Marilyn Monroe, but so many back then were trying to look like her. BTW, I've never heard of Diana Dors. I had to give that one a pass. lol
My favorite Hitchcock is Rear Window so thrilled to see Thelma Ritter and beautiful Grace Kelly. Knew Little Richard, Ray Charles, Chuck Berry and Malcolm X but didn’t recognize Nelson Mandela (bad photo, I thought) Jayne Mansfield created quite a stir in our neighborhood of SW Philly when her Rolls stopped at our neighborhood gas station! Never will get over Natalie Wood’s sudden never solved death by drowning; WTH? She played my mom’s favorite vaudeville star, Gypsy Rose Lee in 1962, (I played an aging stripper, Electra in community theatre production of Gypsy.) I remember Dorothy Dandridge from Porgy & Bess (my dad broke my record one day.) So I guessed 32/50. It was not easy!
39/50 I was old enough to remember nearly all of the Hollywood stars. Some of the others were either people I didn't recognize & a couple I'd never heard of. Gave me a H/A but it was fun anyway.🤓🖖
It was a good quiz, a good mix of people. However.....couldn't you find any real music? I find I have to mute your videos because of the awful background racket!!
Well, that was tough, and I can't imagine anyone getting 50/50. For example, UK actress Diana Dors, I would have thought that she was very, very obscure in the States. I got 43/50.
@@oldgoat50Actually yes I got No. 2 Deborah Kerr (very young) but I agree some people on here can say they got them all right and how would we know? I don’t tend to believe what people claim to get on these quizzes. It would be interesting for the OP to tell us which 5 they got wrong!
I did not really do well at all, but one thing I DO know is that your last one... Her proper title IS/WAS Princess Grace of Monaco as she married Ranier III; Prince of Monaco.
As a R&R fan, I got those right, did horrible on the female movie stars (passable on the males) and only missed Nelson Mandala on the international political people.
Seeing that 90% of them were actors and singers, why bother putting the others in at all. Just make it entertainers or even it up with more writers, politicians, artists etc.
Got 40 right out of 50. Some I didn't know at all. Fun quiz ! Thank you !
Never knew Nelson Mandela was a celebrity in the 50s. Lol
Well, you’re right. It’s maybe a bit before his time
He wad politically active in South Africa in the 1950s but I don't know if he wad known on the world stage

19/50 A little before my time. Had fun guessing the ones I didn't know. Tyfs your great quiz! ❤️
I got 45, I didn't know the few fashion models names and didn't recognize Billy Wilder from that particular photo. Thanks that was fun.
Found that challenging but interesting not many right
Great pacing. Gives us old folks time to focus.🫣
41 right. Thanks for this great quiz.
I got fifteen right. Good quiz.
I got most of the men right, but I missed almost all of the women.
I absolutely agree with the one who said that background music is awful!
No it's not, it's effing great music - although perhaps not quite appropriate for a quiz about 50s celebrities.
Mute
Hands up if at immediate glance you also thought that Diana Dors ( Q 30 ) you thought it was Marilyn Monroe?
Specsavers for you matey
I didn't think it was Marilyn Monroe, but so many back then were trying to look like her. BTW, I've never heard of Diana Dors. I had to give that one a pass. lol
23. I recognised many of the faces but couldn't recall their names. I'm getting old.
Good quiz although the music is a bit much
Yeah, some appropriate '50's music would be more suitable
Not like you dont have a huge back catalogue to choose from
27 out of 50. I actually knew a lot more of them but I couldn't recognize them from the pictures presented here.
Yes. Some of the pics were classic shots but others were not!
Trickery.
I missed 5, but of course, I’m 82 n my memory is still sharp!!👍

Pretty nostalgic. Baby boomer here. Missed 23, so I think my score was 27/50.
39/50 I was old enough to remember nearly all of the Hollywood stars. Some of the others were either people I didn't recognize & a couple I'd never heard of. Gave me a H/A but it was fun anyway.🤓🖖
Some of the pictures look so different. Like Carolyn Jones with her short hair. Threw mw off.
43/50! I was raised on old classic movies!
Dang, I bombed that one. Didn't know the 50's as well as I hoped. But it was twenty years before my time, so I forgive myself.
I sucked big time on this one (born in 1957) I lost count but I got about 10 or 12, maybe.
Rita Moreno❤
She 🔥🔥
I was born over 30 years after this and it amazes me how dead to history the most famous people of the 50’s are.
You right there. Like it's been forgotten
7 correct answers... and I'm a boomer! not my finest hour lol
I got 38, but then I was just a little kid in the last half of the 1950s.
35. Not to shabby!

I got 45! I wasn't even born yet but I love old stars.

Her Serene Highness Princess Grace of Monaco.
Great quiz that could be even better without the dreadful music (noise) 😢
30/50-difficult -I kept saying the F-word-amazed that I got Rosa Parks being Australian-anyway thanks for a V good quiz
Oh oh--saying the F-word wasn't allowed back in the 50s. Unless you were a drunken sailor.
@@lytnin88 I once used to be a drunken sailor-so I must be allowed
Elvis and Marilyn would’ve been too easy
As a R&R fan, I got those right, did horrible on the female movie stars (passable on the males) and only missed Nelson Mandala on the international political people.
40/50
A young Nelson Mandela looked like Sugar Ray Robinson.
Ima just name a random celebrity... Peter griffin
Cool quiz but Marilyn should’ve been included as well. Not just the ‘60s.
Too easy
I think I missed 20. Maybe 30. I lost count on my fingers. I better write them down next time.
I counted on fingers too, so 27/50 was probably wrong.
31/50🙂
39/50 - I thought I would be better
I got only 20 but I was born in 66
34 out of 50.

Music is terrible.
Very annoying music
Winston Churchill?
Wtf?
I believe he was prime minister of the UK in the 50s, as well as the 40s.
25/50...pathetic.
I missed 30 I think.. I lost count.
